Your all time favorite Asian Drama?
This one is a bit difficult but I'll follow @biancadanica98 's format and choose one from Korean & Taiwanese drama.
Korean: Signal (2016)
Hands down this one is the best Korean drama I've watch. I haven't seen a Korean drama that surpassed Signal's level of story, depth and acting skills. The actors and actress that played the role breathes the roles. The real reason why I was attracted to this fantasy crime genre is the cases that the drama depict are inspired from real cases in Korea. It gave me a new aspect of how corruption does exists even if it's overshadowed with the glamorous events on the surface.
Here is a summary of the movie from Wikipedia:
"A mysterious walkie talkie allows a detective in 1989 to communicate with a cold case profiler from 2015; with the power of fore and hindsight the two not only solve crimes but prevent them from ever taking place. However a long standing murder case is closer to home than either realizes."
Taiwanese: Alice in Wonder City (2012)
I problem I'm not a sad person. I just tend to like very intriguing and mellow storyline because I like unraveling mysterious. Alice in Wonder City has the type suspense I want in a Taiwanese drama (since you don't normally seem them in romance comedy). Since it's a music-themed drama it has a lot of nice OSTs and musical performances.
Synopsis from Drama Wiki:
He Ting Yu is a famous violinist who's just returned from an overseas tour. Chen Hai Jie is a hardworking dreamer who came to the big city to become a world class violin player. Lan Die Fei is a charming girl who has a beautiful voice and an ear for pitch. Alice is a mysterious girl from Japan who wonders the streets searching for the secrets of her past. The seeds of their dreams are planted in the city; they are all waiting to see if one day the seeds will grow to bear fruit.
