We compare food and sex a lot more than we might realize.
It is, after all, how we came up with things like 'Better Than Sex' cake and describe things like chocolate, desserts, even a really expensive steak.
It should be no surprise, then, that our current population's generation of foodies are becoming more vocal about their preferences - that sometimes, yes, a good dinner CAN be better than sex! (At least, according to a recent report by Havas Worldwide.)
The ad agency surveyed nearly 12,000 men and women over the age of 18 in 37 different countries, including the United States.
After asking them various questions about food, sex, and relationships, the millennials (ages 18 - 34) proved to be the largest group that felt good food was just as good as doin' it - with 54% of them agreeing that "eating can be just as pleasurable as sex."
Over a third of the millennials surveyed also said that if they were to choose between an evening of sex or "an excellent dinner at a restaurant", they'd go with that dinner!
We can't help it! We're a generation who just really appreciates good food!
The survey also found that 53% of us consider going out to eat their #1 "favorite social activity" - with 56% of us choosing food shopping as "one of our favorite chores". And with social media playing such a big part in our daily lives, sometimes #foodporn just gets in the way of #actualporn, you know what I mean?
So what do you guys think? Do you agree with these numbers? Is preferring food to sex a BAD thing or just a sign of changing times?
