Music and Men's Fashion in 1967-68

In the postwar era, the British were the leaders of style. The Rockers, the Teddy Boys, and the Mods were young adult that stressed independence, fun, fashion, and...music.  The Rockers listened to 1950s rock-and roll, wore black leather jackets, greased with pompadour hairstyle, and rode motorbikes.
The Teddy Boys (also known as Teds) listened to rock n’ roll, rode motorcycles, wore drape suits with pompadours hairstyle, and were stereotyped as beer-drinking brawlers.
The Mods (short for Modernists), listened to modern jazz as they showed their styles off at local cafes. They were characterized by their choice of style different from the 1950s and adopted new fads. Mods used clothing to craft a sense of identity. Their look was classy; they mimicked the clothing and hairstyles of high fashion designers in France and Italy; opting for tailored suits, which were topped by anoraks that became their trademark. They rode on scooters, usually Vespas or Lambrettas. The Mods dress style was often called the City Gent look. The young men incorporated striped boating blazers and bold prints into their wardrobe. Shirts were slim, with a necessary button down collar accompanied by slim fitted pants. Levi's were the only type of jeans worn by Mods. They worked at the lower end of the work force, usually nine to five jobs leaving time for clothes, music, and clubs.
British rock bands such as The Who, The Small Faces, the Beatles, Procol Harum, the Animals, and The Kinks emerged from the Mod subculture. By 1965, some bands were regulars in Carnaby Street. Around 1966, Mod arguably ceased to be a specific subculture. Starting in 1967, the Mod culture became the reemergence of flamboyance that had been absent from menswear for nearly a century. A phenomenon known as the peacock revolution. Carnaby Street emerged as the virtual fashion parades and epicenter of peacock revolution, which describe all manner of bold and  graphic clothing with endless capacity for creativity and eye-catching reinvention.
Fashion designers made the novelty in fabrics, cuts, colours, and patterns. Particularly with the proto-psychedelic, Indian-influenced colours and pattern. Coloured scarf, psychedelic or floral shirt, and double-breasted scarlet jacket with wide lapels and gold floral are snapshots of what 1967’s men would have worn. The boutique I Was Lord Kitchener’s Valet in Portobello Road specialized in a distinctive merger of pop art and nostalgia, particularly Victorian and Edwardian military wear. Its window displays inspired artist Peter Blake in designing the cover of one of the most famous albums in rock history, Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. In 1967, rock music also began to change. Some bands turn their music into psychedelic. Peacock revolution marks the early era of psychedelia. Some music videos and photos of 60's rock bands in 1967-1968 show their outfits of peacock revolution.
Procol Harum are an English rock band formed in 1967. They contributed to the development of symphonic rock, and by extension, progressive rock. Their best-known recording is their 1967 hit single "A Whiter Shade of Pale", which is considered a classic of popular music and is one of the few singles to have sold over 10 million copies. Although noted for its baroque and classical influence, Procol Harum's music also embraces the blues, R&B, and soul.
Bee Gees formed in 1958. Consist of brothers Barry, Robin and Maurice Gibb. They had two distinct periods of exceptional success; as a popular music act in the late 1960s and early 1970s, and as prominent performers of the disco music era in the late 1970s. Before disco, the brothers Gibb added Colin Petersen (drum) and Vince Melouney (guitar) to the group.
The Beatles were an English rock band, formed in Liverpool in 1960. Rooted in skiffle, beat, and 1950s rock and roll, they later experimented with several musical styles, ranging from pop ballads and Indian music to psychedelia and hard rock, often incorporating classical elements in innovative ways. http://groti.blogspot.co.id/?m=1

Real Fashionistas Critique Game Fashion
If I remember correctly, a little while ago @paulisadroid wrote a card in which he talked about how Louis Vuitton's latest collection has featured Lightning from Final Fantasy XIII as the model. To be clear: I don't know anything about fashion. I know that shirts go on top and pants go on bottom and sometimes those two things are one thing and they're called a jumper. Or a romper. Or a flightsuit. Idk. In any case, the good people (I'm assuming. Idk, they could suck) over at Australian Kotaku brought together some women who actually do know about fashion and had them critique outfits in various video games. I'm not gonna rehash their whole article, just some of the choicest bits. For reference, the women who offered their critiques are "Lisa Patulny, Editor of Byrdie / Carina Ross, Health and Fitness Editor, POPSUGAR / Alexandra Whiting, Lifestyle Editor, POPSUGAR / Justine Dunton-Rose, Beauty Editor, POPSUGAR / Genevieve Rota, Entertainment Editor, POPSUGAR" Let's start with Lightning, since she's the one who really got this ball of fashion rolling. Lisa: Feeling the tan and cream vest but not the thigh bag. Is that a thing? Do people make leg bags? I really don’t want one. Alexandra: As a dedicated FF player and, you know, woman, I love Lightning. She’s a total badass with a military background to boot, and her outfit reflects this. Lightning looks like they put her in a soldier’s uniform and she ripped off all the bits she didn’t need, strapped a bag to her thigh (don’t knock ‘til you try it) and added a cape for the hell of it. Genevieve: I don’t want to offend this girl ‘cause she looks like a bad-ass. But there’s just a lot going on. The olive green, the tan, the burgundy, the black, cream, navy, yellow . . . I’m exhausted. Coco Chanel’s sage advice – “before you leave the house, look in the mirror and take one thing off” – really would have come in handy here. She’s making a case for belts serving as bras, though. Chloe - Life is Strange Lisa: I don’t know anything about Chloe but I assume she punches people who wear the band shirts of bands they don’t really listen to. Carina: I’m not sure what her character does in the game . . . does she fight? Or maybe mope around? Either way her outfit confuses me. A beanie AND a singlet, tells me she can’t decide if she’s hot or cold. 4/10. Alexandra: Chloe is obviously very cool. We know this because she has a skull in her tattoo, on her shirt and then (for extra clarification) the word ‘skull’ on her top. Justine: This girl looks like Ruby Rose back in her DJing days. Enjoying her rock vibe and cool beanie. 8/10 Aiden - Watch Dogs Carina: Underneath that big ol’ coat Aiden looks like the kinda guy you’d want to take home to mum. Ya know, jeans, sensible jumper, dreamy eyes… 8/10 Justine: This guy looks not unlike someone who is living in NYC right now. I’m actually quite enjoying his street style. Lose the gun and I would probably go on a date with this Aiden from Watch Dogs dude. 9/10 Genevieve: I’m willing to look past the bootleg jeans and fingerless gloves for what looks to be a very attractive face under that scarf. Nice broad shoulders, a smouldering eye, 5 o’clock shadow . . . From a style perspective he’s a no but from a sex appeal angle he’s a YES. I hope he’s not a baddie. Tingle - The Legend of Zelda Carina: How adorably annoying! Nothing frustrates me more than the colour neon green. Also why is Tingle wearing his red (also an annoying colour) jocks on top of his offensive onsie? 1/10 for the booties. Justine: What even is this? It looks like something from my childhood nightmares… With a terrible sinus infection. 1/10 Alexandra: We could say a lot of things about Tingle’s look, but the important thing is he’s owning it. *cough* Quiet - Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain Lisa: Sorry, is this an “outfit”? I don’t think she’s finished getting dressed. I hope there’s a mumsy character who follows her around the game with a jumper saying, “Don’t forget your cardigan!” Is there? I would play that game. Carina: WHAT the actual hell!? Anyone who has boobs will tell you there’s not much you can do in a bikini five sizes too small, apart from stand very still and pray you don’t have a nip slip. How does Quiet even live? Don’t even get me started on the rest of her strange get-up. 1/10 soz, Quiet! Alexandra: If she wasn’t rocking weapons I’d think Quiet’s been made to wear this against her will. Because that is the only way someone would ever wear this. Justine: I’m lost for words. No, just no. Everything about this is no. 0/10 Genevieve: Yes, she’s covering her private parts with miniscule scraps of material. Yes, her tights are upsettingly holey. Yes, this outfit is completely inappropriate for everything, ever. But she’s got cool combat boots on, and a bangin’ body – why shouldn’t she show it off? You know what’s really letting her down here? Her greasy hair. Girl, take a shower. You know, I'm really not surprised about their reactions to Quiet's outfit. Any fashionable people here have any insight to offer? Do y'all agree? Disagree? @tessstevens @allobaber @jordanhamilton @marshalledgar @lizarnone @lavonyork Also, less fashionable people who might get a kick out of this: @inplainsight (Australia) @paulisadroid @tylerdurso @buddyesd @shannonl5 @alletaire @namrow @SAMURXAI @arnelli @poojas
Jackets that Every Woman Should Own
We, women, love shopping. We keep stuffing our closet with almost everything that we like. But it’s time to get smart about shopping and that means making sure you’re covering your basics before worrying about the others. One such category of basics I feel is jackets or outerwear. That makes a huge difference in your ability to layer and create visually interesting pieces. This article is all about six essential types of jackets that I think every woman should have. 1. Denim Jacket Well, this is the one piece I stick to most of the time. Demin jackets have been around forever and they will never go out of style. The best part is there are unlimited ways to style it. Just adding a denim jacket can make almost every outfit in your wardrobe look super casual and cool. You can visit TrueGether, one of the best eBay alternatives, to get the best denim jacket for yourself. You will find various designs and sizes to choose from. 2. Leather Jacket The second very obvious outwear staple is one of those rare pieces that can transition your look straight from the office to the club or to the market – the leather jacket. The most common and safe choice for a leather jacket would be the black one. But depending on your choice you can go for different colors and patterns. It makes your look cool to the core and says you are not to be messed with! 3. Kimono A traditional Japanese outfit and now a huge trend across the globe – Kimono. They are basically long or short open jackets in different colors, patterns, and fabrics that can be styled in so many different ways. I think it’s a very easy way to add a layer of style and color to your outfit. You can go for a warm, velvet, or wool kimono for cold months or you can go for lightweight georgette or chiffon ones for summers. They can be styled with shorts, jeans, dresses, jumpsuits, and every other outfit. No matter what your body type is, a long flowy kimono will always complement your shape. They can even act as a coverup over your swimsuits. 4. Bomber Jacket Bomber jackets have been a thing for quite a while now and they’ve been so much popularized by celebrities, be it their off-duty model looks or airport looks. This is the perfect layering piece to transition from summer to fall and even winter if you wear it over a nice sweater. So, I think this piece of jacket is the one that every woman needs to have in her wardrobe. They were so well even on the leggings. There are multiple prints, patterns available so you can always experiment and see what works best for you. 5. The Classic Blazer One wardrobe staple that can turn any outfit into a professional get-up is a classic blazer. You can experiment with so many colors and patterns that are huge trends these days. It makes a person look sophisticated and classy as well. You can even pair it with shorts in summer and look really cool or with a saree to get that Indo-Western perfect look. A blazer can make any outfit look very chic. So, these were the types of jackets that every woman should have in her wardrobe. They will surely cover almost all your occasions. If you don’t already have these jackets, it’s time to make the move now. It will be an investment that you won’t regret.

Tips to loose the Tight Shoes
We understand you were too excited to wear that at your next outing but you couldn’t because you realised at the last moment that they are too tight but it’s ok, things happen. So let’s see these tricks which can help you stretch your babies out. 1. Let’s wear them around the house: If you want to wear your new shoes to work or maybe all evening at a party, they need to be comfortable. Tight shoes are not comfortable at all. So whenever you are home, just start wearing them for short spans of time. This will break-in the shoe and help loosen the material and hence, will end up stretching the shoe right up and make it comfortable to wear for longer durations. 2. Freeze them: Just as water, your shoes also expand when frozen. Take a sandwich or plastic bag for each foot of your shoes. Fill 1/4th bag with water. Insert them inside your shoe and put them in the freezer and let them sit in till the water in the bag freezes. Once done take the shoes out of the freezer and let the ice inside the bag thaw and then try on your shoes. In case, it doesn’t feel right still, repeat the process. Be careful that the water does not leak, it can ruin your shoes. This is a tricky one, so be careful. In case of shoes like canvas or other materials that can get wet or be soaked, you can just wet them and put them directly in the freezer. 3.Heat them: Besides freezing, heating your shoes also has the same effect. Put on a pair of thick socks and then the shoes you want to stretch out. Switch on your hair dryer and heat the shoes where it is tight. While doing this keep flexing your feet inside the shoe as much as possible. It is a little uncomfortable but it works 200%. This is a good trick for leathers because they shrink back later. Men’s leather shoes and women’s formal shoes often need these techniques because they are expensive and usually cannot be returned. 4.Use some shoe-stretching tools: You can use some other tricks to stretch out your shoes instead of using your feet, try stuffing them with thick socks or maybe crumpled newspapers. There are certain tools available in the market specifically for this purpose. They can help stretch both the length and breadth of a shoe. These tools have knobs to adjust it to your required size. They work great but at times are a little expensive. Article Resource: http://club41.synergize.co/how-to-loosen-too-tight-shoes/?i=1
Music When The Lights Go Out: Songs To Help You Sleep
There is nothing worse than laying in your bed trying to fall asleep. Your eyes are darting around under the lids. The lights are dim, and yet, your brain won't shut off. The impulses are still firing and yet your body is exhausted. You want nothing more than to drift off to dreamland. Music is a huge deal as far as psychology goes. It can help with productivity, working out and even sleep. When you're having trouble drifting into subconscious bliss turn on these tunes and put your mind at ease. Before you know it, you'll be dreaming with the best of them. Instead of water sounds try... House of Cards by Radiohead Radiohead is a great band to listen to when you want to chill out entirely. Their music is cinematic and atmospheric, which is great for catching Z's. Radiohead's music fills the room, and will create a sonic coccoon for your slumber. Totally cool right? House of Cards is a slow building song with almost a lullaby effect. Thom Yorke's haunting vocal soothes as the song ebbs and flows like waves. It's totally better than contrived water sounds. Check out the OK Computer album too. It's full of grade A sleepy time tracks. Instead of rain and thunder sounds try... I Am The Rain by Peter Doherty This song always calms me down. It is melancholy at its height. It's a dreamy acoustic track that even has rain sounds in some of the background. It has a lot of elements that remind you of that chilly spring rain that comes when everything is falling down. It honestly is beautiful, and yes I have a bias towards this artist but still..you can't deny the power of a brilliant acoustic ballad as far as sleep goes. If you want more, check out his solo album Grace / Wastelands it's largely acoustic and very mellow. Great songwriting too. I've fallen asleep to this album many times. Instead of white noise try... Stay Covered by Thirty Seconds to Mars This may be a more edgy and deliberate version of Rihanna's smash hit, but it really gets the job done as far as sleep goes. Jared Leto's voice is a lot more gritty and steady than Rihanna's and the subtle backing provides a really smooth soundscape. If you let yourself concentrate on the driving beat and subtle lyrics of this song you'll fall asleep in no time. I highly recommend Thirty Seconds To Mars' album Love Lust Faith and Dreams, there are a lot of atmospheric tracks that build just like the first song on this list. I think it's good to have music that fills the room, it creates a safer space and enables your mind to shut off faster. Instead of animal sounds try... Number One Party Anthem by Arctic Monkeys This song's title couldn't be further from it's musical content. This song is a slow burner, like a candle being blown out at two A.M. It simmers as it goes on. This song is a rarity in the Monkeys' catalog. And it stands out as one of their best. Alex Turner's dreamy vocals fit perfectly with the acoustic vibe and are a sure fire way to help you get some rest. Try out their album A.M. which features a lot of slick tracks with even vocal quality and driving beats. This sort of regulation will help with sleep. What are your favorite sleepytime tracks? I'd love to hear from @nicolejb @allischaaff @terricariley @InPlainSight and @buddyesd and any other music lovers out there!

Recommendations for Ingrown Toenail Treatment Ingrown toenails can affect your toes and cause discomfort, and if you experience pain in the area, it's possible that swelling and infection could be occurring as a result. You might be able to proceed with ingrown toenail treatment yourself but for other more difficult instances, you may need to see a physician for assistance. Symptoms and Causes Pain is a typical symptom of an ingrown toenail in addition to redness and swelling. If left untreated, an infection could begin in the skin tissue. These symptoms start when the nail begins growing into the flesh. Sometimes wearing tight shoes can also lead to these problems, and it is most common for these issues to occur with the largest toe. Self-Help Treatment Options Patients may try several remedies at home for ingrown toenail treatment. - Fill a basin with warm salt water, and place your foot in the water to soak for about 15 minutes. Many people find that this remedy helps reduce swelling and discomfort. You can repeat the soaking process several times each day. Always dry your foot thoroughly after soaking to prevent additional issues. - Use a small, clean file to gently push the skin back. Make sure not to cut or injure the skin during this process. - Soak a small piece of cotton in water or antiseptic cleanser. Separate the skin and the nail with this cotton to cushion the area. - Apply antibiotic ointment to the area to keep it clean and reduce infection risk. Mac Sabbath: The McDonald's Metal Band Of Your Nightmares
Just when you thought Ronald McDonald was as scary as clowns got, in comes Ronald Osbourne. From the poofy red wig and the yellow gloves, he's got all the fast food joint's iconic colors in place; however, something sinister boils beneath the surface. This is Mac Sabbath, a Black Sabbath cover band that combines all things Prince of Darkness with ketchup, mayo, and the occasional sweet and sour dipping sauce. And in this gig, Ronald Osbourne is the fast food world's Prince of Darkness equivalent. Needless to say, you should be scared. Very scared. And instead of 'Iron Man', their signature song is 'Frying Pan', which equal parts mocks the quality of fast food and the health of the people who eat it a little too frequently. Oh, and you've got to see Ronald's bandmates. There's Slayer MacCheeze, Grimalice, and Catburglar, who looks a whole lot like Peter Criss from the original KISS line-up. And just like the original Black Sabbath, Ronald and the crew are just as notorious for their extreme stage antics. After attending their concert last summer, music journalist Jake Manson observed a move pulled right out of the Ozzy Osbourne handbook: "The highlight came when Ronald reached into his takeout bag, pulled out a hamburger with bat wings, and took a massive bite out of it." So what do you guys think about Mac Sabbath? Have you seen any clown rock this hard? Let me know if you'd be down to see Mac Sabbath live in concert in the comments below, and for more WTF news, follow my WTF Street Journal collection.
