Brazilian police are using new methods to drive drug gangs out of some of the deadliest slums in time for the 2016 olympics. The new tactics center around maintaining a permanent presence in the favelas. As you can see in the picture, this makes the streets of Rio look a bit like a war-zone. In addition, police in Brazil are responsible for 2,000 deaths per year. So its pretty understandable that many of the citizens don't trust them.
