Which orange came first, the color or the fruit?
The original word for the color was "geoluhread", which meant "yellow-red" in Old English. BONUS: If you know your European geography (or history), there a region in France called "Orange." That name has its origins in a Celtic water god named "Arausio," and has nothing to do with the fruit or the color!
