DIY Halloween Lanterns
How amazing do these look?! This DIY project is perfect for decorating your home or apartment for Halloween. You can let your creativity run wild with this project or you can use a stencil if you are artistically challenged, like me. This DIY tutorial comes from the great people at Adventure in a Box. Materials For this project, you will need: -- Mason jars -- Purple spray paint (this tutorial used Krylon Aerosol Paint) -- Black paint marker You can find all of these items at a craft store. Clean and paint your jars Make sure your jars are clean from any food or labels. Then, use the spray paint and paint the entire outside of the jar. You want the paint to be translucent, so one coat should suffice. You can check this by setting a lit candle inside. If you want it to be a little darker, you can add another coat of paint. Let the coats of paint dry completely. Draw the design If you are using a design (like this one that the tutorial used), print it and put it inside the jar. Then trace the design on the outside of the jar with the black paint marker. If you want to put a little bit of your own creativity into this project, you can either draw your design on a piece of paper first and then trace it or draw your design free-hand — it's completely up to you! Place a lit candle in the jar and enjoy! For more DIY projects for your home or apartment, check out the "DIY home" collection!
