We are basically exactly two-thirds of the way through the year, scary thought right? If you have been following this series you have had time to develop at least 30 new healthy habits so far. Stop right now and pat yourself on the back, that is an insane amount of healthy habits! Even if you weren’t perfect, even if you forgot about some of them, you now know what healthy habits are essential to staying trim, fit, and having optimal energy.
As I wrote in my Newsletter and Fall update, the busy season is here. We are moving from backyard cookouts, summer vacations and pool parties to the hustle and bustle of the fall, followed by the holiday season. You have two options. Option 1: Give up and decide you’ll tackle your health and self-care needs after the holiday season (come January.) Option 2: Set just one goal, healthy habit, or project to accomplish by January 1st.
You can re-evaluate how far you’ve come on those SMART goals you set for your New Year’s Resolution. You can also pick a habit you learned about in this series to become a Master at. Do you still struggle with drinking water, getting enough protein, or sleeping enough? Are you eating breakfast or choosing high-quality carbohydrates? Research shows that if you do something for 13 weeks it will become a habit you will have for the rest of your life. What is one healthy habit you want for the rest of your life? Once you’ve got it:
Write it down.
Track it every single day.
