The largest school in the world in terms of attendance is the City Montessori School in Lucknow, India. It currently has over 45,000 students. The school was founded in 1959 with five students and a loan of 500 Rupees (about $63 at that time) by a couple who had dreams of creating a new mindset through education. Pupils are "taught a philosophy of universal peace and globalism under the motto "Jai Jagat" (Victory be to the World)." It also boasts high academic standards - "the school has been ranked 6th in the 'most respected secondary schools' in India list compiled by IMRB in 2007." http://www.cmseducation.org/guinness/index.htm http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/City_Montessori_School
