Being a Fearless Street teamer

There's a lot I can say about being able to promote my favorite bands, one way was being part of a street team by Fearless Records. Fearless Records, is a record company in California. They house many bands such as, Mayday Parade, Pierce The Veil, The Word Alive, Tonight Alive... and so on. This year was the best year for me, I actually got a chance to promote and actually go to shows and represent not not the record company but for the bands as well. It was a great opportunity to do the Vans Warped Tour and promote there, and also my favorite band of all time, I got to do Pierce The Veil's tour "The Made To Destroy" Tour. It was a lot of fun, it was the first time I got to see them plus meet them. They were so nice and caring. I was almost in tears, but remembering that this was kinda like a job, I had to be professional. But yea, I hope that I get to go to more shows in the future and hopefully get to see more people join the team~

A product guide to fluorescence and Photoluminescence
Above Photo: Glow Paint Industries 250ml UV Neon Face and Body Paints. Black lights emit UV Ultraviolet light that cannot be seen by humans The fluorescent paint absorbs the ultraviolet light and then re-emits the visible wavelengths that we see as fluorescence. It works in the way of one colour in one colour out. Fluorescent Paints are fluro โ€“ Neon coloured in normal day light conditions but when exposed to a black light in dark or semi lit conditions will illuminate (Fluoresce). As you can see the glow in the dark Christmas tree was a great success. Common Questions Q) Should Fluorescent Paints be used outdoors? A) Fluorescent Paints will work fine outside but over a number of years the paint will fade in colour. Fluorescent Paints are best used indoors. Q) Is there a black, Gold, Silver or Gray Fluorescent paint? A)No all these colours do not have fluorescent properties. Q) Are black lights dangerous? A) Most black lights that are available for sale in Australia are safe to use. UV Blacklights with dangerous wavelengths are not normally available for sale to the general public. Q) What type of Black Light do I need for a Fluro Party? A) To light a large area we recommend getting a 400W UV Black Light cannon. You can get these UV black lights from your local dโ€™j supplies shop. Most dโ€™j shops rent and sell their range of black lights. Types of Black Lights Black Light LED panels these black lights also work well and are suitable for both home fluro parties and professional use, but give inferior performance. UV Black Light Tubes are good if you are trying to light an area where there are only normal white light fluorescent lighting. You can get these from electrical wholesalers. Black Light bulbs are a good, cheap and cost effective method of buying UV black lights. We recommend buying energy efficient globes rather that the old style globes. The old style globes donโ€™t work as well as the new energy efficient globes. You can get these from your local hardware store. You will need to check your light fittings before buying black light bulbs to check if you have bayonet or screw in fittings. The type of UV Black light you buy will determine how well the paints work under UV Black light. Above Photo: Pro black lights for large events. Above Photo: 12 Volt DC UV Black Light Is Glow in the dark the same as fluorescence? No they are not the same at all. Glow in the dark pigments in the paints absorbs light from artificial light or natural light sources and then when placed in the dark the pigments in the paint discharge and light up and Glow. There is no scientific research or evidence to prove that Glow pigments are safe to use on skin or in face and body paint. A new emerging trend is to use glow in the dark Face and Body Paints. After many years in selling glow in the dark powders and paints we know that this type of Glow paint is inferior compared to UV reactive paints. This is why 1) Glow in the dark Face and Body Paints need very dark conditions to see the glow effect. 2) This make their use dangerous. 3) They are expensive 4) They have limited colours 5) To have a good glow effect these paints need large glow powder particle sizes. This makes them look like sandpaper. Other useful information about Fluorescence in general Is there Organic Fluorescent things in nature? Yes some flowers have UV Properties which helps bees and other small insects find flowers. Fluorescent rocks and minerals Some rocks and minerals will fluoresce when near a black light. Why Are These Kids At A Rave?
The 1990s were a simpler time - at least in the realm of kid birthday parties. You went out for laser tag or group-watched a movie. You had slumber parties or rented the 'party room' at your local roller rink. However, sometime between then and now, Skrillex happened - which brings us to the latest trend in children's birthday parties - KIDDIE RAVES. Introducing CirKiz - it's like that neon EDM-packed post-apocalypse you used to go to in college. But with safer goodie bags. You got your wildin' out, glowstick-wielding white bros. Guy with a cool haircut working the 1's and 2's. The person who's been going hard on fruit punch all night. And the one in the corner, currently regretting the fruit punch. CirKiz was created by some NYC-based, EDM-loving parents - Jesse Sprague and Jenny Song - who wanted to create a special place "where families can listen and dance to DJs, see live performances, and experience a nightclub environment in a safe, controlled daytime setting." Available in both New York and London, parents can choose one of several popular warehouse venues and trendy nightclubs for their CirKiz-sponsored event. One such venue, I was surprised to learn, is Cielo, a New York spot known for hosting some pretty 'high-brow' house and trance DJs. In fact, that's exactly where Jesse and Jenny first came up with their Cirkiz idea: "We had [our son's] 1st birthday party at Cielo. We invited friends with kids and friends without. It was so much fun for everyone we decided to make it an annual event but in different clubs. The message we got from all our friends was clear and consistent: 'You should do this professionally and turn it into a business... I'd pay to go.' So after years of just doing it for fun, we finally got our act together and did exactly that." Currently, CirKiz is hosting a 'winter series' of raves at NYC's Space Ibiza on Sundays, where ticket prices range from $15 - 20 per person. You can check out more details at their official website or you can be like me and just stare at these pictures, feeling equal parts confused and disturbed. With that being said: What do you guys think? Is combining kids and rave culture a good idea or bad idea? Let me know in the comments below. (Also shout-out to the LED robot in this picture up here. For a part-time job, that's - admittedly - rad as hell.)
Mac Sabbath: The McDonald's Metal Band Of Your Nightmares
Just when you thought Ronald McDonald was as scary as clowns got, in comes Ronald Osbourne. From the poofy red wig and the yellow gloves, he's got all the fast food joint's iconic colors in place; however, something sinister boils beneath the surface. This is Mac Sabbath, a Black Sabbath cover band that combines all things Prince of Darkness with ketchup, mayo, and the occasional sweet and sour dipping sauce. And in this gig, Ronald Osbourne is the fast food world's Prince of Darkness equivalent. Needless to say, you should be scared. Very scared. And instead of 'Iron Man', their signature song is 'Frying Pan', which equal parts mocks the quality of fast food and the health of the people who eat it a little too frequently. Oh, and you've got to see Ronald's bandmates. There's Slayer MacCheeze, Grimalice, and Catburglar, who looks a whole lot like Peter Criss from the original KISS line-up. And just like the original Black Sabbath, Ronald and the crew are just as notorious for their extreme stage antics. After attending their concert last summer, music journalist Jake Manson observed a move pulled right out of the Ozzy Osbourne handbook: "The highlight came when Ronald reached into his takeout bag, pulled out a hamburger with bat wings, and took a massive bite out of it." So what do you guys think about Mac Sabbath? Have you seen any clown rock this hard? Let me know if you'd be down to see Mac Sabbath live in concert in the comments below, and for more WTF news, follow my WTF Street Journal collection.

10 Panic! At The Disco Songs That'll Help You Move On
Love is a fickle thing. It comes and goes faster than you can snap your fingers. Certain bands have a way of documenting the bitterness you feel after a break-up, or the freedom of taking a break. Panic! At The Disco is one of those bands. So, if you've been hurt or tricked, heart-broken or forgotten, this one's for you. 1. Nicotine / Too Weird to Live, Too Rare to Die! Bitter break-ups are a real thing. Trust me, I've been there. Sometimes you get addicted to a person and the way they make you feel. Losing control and hope can lead to freedom...but more or less it just results in a dependence on destruction. Nicotine is an ode to that. When people become addictive, we know it's probably time to move on, just for our own safety. When you enter a relationship that is unstable and exciting, we can fall into bad habits, and just like Nicotine...that person could very well ruin your life. Best Lyric: "Just one more hit and then we're through / cause you could never love me back." 2. Mercenary / Batman Arkham City Soundtrack A lot of fans missed this song because of its limited release. But it's a fantastic song to listen to right after you break up with someone and need reassurance that yes, being alone is hard, but it's better than being jerked around. Best Lyric: I dodge the blast and apologize for collateral damage. Because while we can't save every relationship, we can acknowledge what we learned from the worst ones. 3. Nearly Witches (Ever Since We Met) / Vices Virtues Much like Nicotine, this song centers on the idea of addiction. The person you're with gives you a feeling like no other, and when that crash lands to earth and the honeymoon is over...your feelings have to deal. When something is really really good, and we end up having to let it go for some reason, we almost wish it never happened. By removing the experience of that person, we don't have to feel the pain. Best Lyric: "Ever since we met / I only shoot-up with your perfume / Its the only thing / that makes me feel as good as you do / ever since we met / I've got just one regret to live through/ and that one regret is you." 4. Turn off the Lights / Vices Virtues, Bonus Track After being single for a little while, this song became my anthem. It nails that empty feeling you get after you leave someone for the last time. Things are never easy after you get hurt, or you hurt someone else. But escaping...into a world of your choosing whether it be work, playing music, or finding someone new, could be the anecdote to your love-sick heart. I identify with this song because it's very honest. The lyrics ring out like a lost call over a forgotten battlefield, "Our consciences are always so much heavier than our egos." Sometimes the scariest moments in our lives are when we're forced to be alone with our thoughts. Best Lyric: "I've got my heavy heart to hold me down / once it falls apart / my head's in the clouds." 5. Time To Dance / A Fever You Can't Sweat Out Heavily inspired by Chuck Palahniuk "Invisible Monsters", Time To Dance is an exposing of the fickle nature of beauty and the effect on our relationships with others. When you leave a relationship or are reluctant to move on, there's going to be a lot of anger involved. You're going to feel like you're being pulled in a lot of different directions, and your friends, parents, whoever...are all going to want to weigh in on what you do. "Give me a break" is a lyric that you'll hear in your head over and over again. Sometimes all you need when you're trying to move on is the attention of someone else. Best Lyric: "Give me envy, give me malice, give me your attention, give me envy, give me malice, give me a break." 6. Bittersweet / Vices Virtues Bonus Track When you're trapped in a relationship that you know is doomed, you can often feel like you're setting yourself up for failure. A trap. Bittersweet is the perfect song to soundtrack your hopeless devotion to someone you know won't last for long. There are so many things wrong with this person and this relationship, but you can't pull yourself away. Ever experience that? There is a downside to literally everything, but sometimes you just need that. You have to have that disastrous relationship in order to figure out when things are really really good. Best Lyric: "All that hate is gonna burn you up / it keeps me warm at night." 7. Northern Downpour / Pretty Odd Every break-up or change has that "I'm sad and I need to cry about this for a few minutes" song. Northern Downpour is that song. It's about missing someone. It's about longing for the past. We all go through those moments. Even though we want to be the people who say "fuck 'em!" and move on, we can't always do that. It's not possible or healthy. Sometimes we just have to cry it out and be fond for the times when we were happy. People come and go, and that 's not an easy thing to cope with...but our worlds never stop turning. Best Lyric: "I missed your skin when you were East / You clicked your heels and wished for me." 8. This is Gospel / Too Weird to Live Too Rare to Die Things end for a reason. Whether they were doomed from the start, or just became that way because of new people, new situations, or new personality traits emerging doesn't matter. What matters is that things are falling apart, and rather than committing to polishing the brass on the Titanic, you have to let it go. There is an old adage, "If you love something let it go." And even though the fear of being alone can cripple you, you have to take the dive, and let things go, because somewhere down the line, you'll thank yourself. Best Lyric: If you love me let me go. 9. Hallelujah! / Death of a Bachelor This is the "I'm owning up to my past romantic mistakes and moving on" song. For all the bachelors and bachelorettes who seem to jump from person to person without so much as a passing glance, this one is for you. Reforming your ways and wanting to settle down isn't a crime. "In a state of emergency, who was I trying to be?" If you're trying to fill the void with people, you know there has to be another way to make yourself happy. Each casual affair ends worse than the last, and if you can't figure out why you keep failing...just listen to the music. Best Lyric: "Nobody wants you when you have no heart." 10. New Perspective / Jennifer's Body Soundtrack Okay, so we know what we did wrong. We know all the people we've hurt. We know we need to change...so how? "Stop there and let me correct it / I wanna live a life from a New Perspective." Sometimes when things keep failing, we need to change how we see things. Moving on is all about getting a new perspective on life. We have to look for different qualities in people. We have to grow up a little bit. So if your previous relationships are utter failures, that doesn't have to dictate your romantic future. You have control over this. Give yourself a break and learn from your mistakes. Heartbreak aside...you'll get through it. It's okay, you can move on. Best Lyric: "We move along in some new passion knowing everything is fine.
