Healthcare careers: The importance of hospital surgical tech programs
The importance of hospital surgical tech programs in hospitals. Surgical technologists go by a number of names: operating room technicians, scrub techs, or surgical assistants. Each member of the operating room team contributes to the success of the operation. But what do hospital surgical tech programs do exactly? What's more important, is it worth your time and effort to become a surgical tech? Typically, the surgical tech is responsible for preparing both the patient and operating room (OR) for surgery. Before starting the operation, the surgeon should sterilize the OR equipment and ensure there are adequate supplies in the OR. Additionally, they make sure the incision areas are cleaned and disinfected. Is there a waiting list for fast track surgical tech programs? Getting qualified to work in many healthcare careers requires several years of schooling. Fortunately, this isn’t the case for fast track surgical tech programs. Fast track surgical tech programs vary in length but most allow students to graduate within two years. Many employers require a postsecondary certificate or associate's degree for this position. The University Surgical Technology program, for example, can be completed in as few as 6 week surgical tech program. In spite of the fact that surgical technicians do not require as much education as doctors or surgeons, they do have to complete a rigorous program that can take one and a half to two years to complete. This course will introduce students to basic anatomy and medical terminology, help them understand the differences between surgical procedures, and guide them in assisting doctors with surgical preparation. How long is surgical tech school One of the main components of an accelerated surgical tech program is the practicum. The clinical practicum is an opportunity for students to put into practice their academic learning in a real-life setting. This is one of the key elements of becoming a surgical technologist. There are very few online and hybrid options for surgical technology because it is such a hands-on field. Even when the coursework is delivered entirely online, surgical technology programs require a substantial practicum (usually between 300-1200 hours of hands-on experience). However, there are several hybrid programs (face-to-face and distance learning). Students must earn grades of B or better in both core and specialty surgical tech courses to complete most surgical tech programs. Courses like medical ethics and anatomy and physiology are shared with other health care degrees. Still, some courses in surgical tech schools are specific to those programs, and these courses are integral to those programs. The majority of surgical technologists require high grades in both core courses and specialty courses to complete their program. Most of these courses are offered at the same time as other health care degrees - like anatomy and physiology. However, there are some courses that are specific to surgical tech schools, and they are integral to their programs. HOW TO CHOSE colleges for surgical technologist? Many top colleges for surgical technologist offer associate degrees in surgical technology. Schools like these offer programs that prepare students for professional certifications, as well as job placement assistance. In addition to distance learning, the four schools profiled here offer bachelor's degree programs in the field.
[Spooky Weekend Club] Tale of Two Sisters
Welcome to the Spooky Weekend Club! I will be talking about a scary Korean movie that you should watch each Saturday this October to get you in the mood for Halloween. If you'd like to be tagged in the club, please let me know in the comments below or follow my Creepy Kpop collection :D (This is the one and only time I will be posting a movie card in K-pop so be sure to check out the Korean Movies and K-Drama communities) Tale of Two Sisters is a story about, you guessed it, two sisters! The film is based loosely off an old Korean folktale 장화, 홍련, and is one of the craziest psychological thrillers I've ever seen. The film begins with the oldest sister Su-mi leaving a mental institution after being treated for shock and psychosis. We aren't told what triggered this condition, but we know that she is released and brought back home to live with her father, younger sister, and step mom. Su-mi is not a huge fan of her step mom, considering she was the live-in nurse for Su-mi's mom that passed away and then married her dad, and she's pretty sure the step mom is abusing her younger sister Su-yeon who has mysterious bruises on her arm... The audience starts to lose sense of reality because Su-mi and Su-yeon both start to have wild dreams, visions, and hallucinations. We're never quite sure if we're watching a nightmare or their reality. The dreams (and reality) become increasingly scarier as the characters all start to lose their minds. The ending comes out of nowhere and you'll probably have to read the synopsis a few times to understand it - but it is definitely not what you'd expect. If you're into psychological thrillers, this is a must-watch. Solid 8.5 out of 10 from me! Have you seen Tale of Two Sisters? What would you rate it!? Tagging my K-drama folks! Let me know if you'd like to be a part of the Spooky Weekend Club :D Also tagging @ChosenKnight and those who participated in the card that got me thinking about horror movies! @DanRodriguez @MyNoahIsName @missophiestik @Baelit @Swhitta @paulisaghost @camidoll @shjej5835 @Taijiotter @AnnahiZaragoza @Kuramariin @netchtiBates @IlseJimenez @mistymaity @Allyphernelia @YvonJerzak @daznothephop @MYAlpha @thisismylife @chongx @justmeplz1998 @jannatd93 @AngelJoong86 @heidichiesa @montha91 @KiKi29 @VixenViVi @punkpandabear @deilig @BekahVires @VerusumNox @tayunnie @drummergirl691 @XergaB20 @amobigbang @DeadlyCyanide @nykechun @JennieKarlsson @SharayahTodd @themuse @DanitaOkasa @carenabobo @ElsaRuiz @caitlind9898 @sherrysahar @SHINee808 @StevanDesmonda @felicityclaire @LizaNightshade @shannawi @InnocentiaKishi @CoralCastillo @JaxomB @StephanieDuong @crystalordorica @AbrilDominguez @alondrasalas09 @ItsmkayYang @daisyzheng02 @vianeygalindo29 @maria213 @edwinb94 @iqra200 @Shay808 @renheerei @BluBear07 @Soheechanel @GabbyWilliams @VeronicaArtino @Zyair27 @JessySoo @girlzrockpit98 @SarahVanDorn @VirisaCamarena @Baekyeol27 @Bree1004 @ZoeHall @Dtlee808 @LeilaB @emsterway2000 @tseringwang12 @Sefu @wuyifanslover @ysabacani @fashionloversa @JohnEvans @BrianaPerez @desireesamuels @JunieRose @misskurmet82 @Brinicole171 @Ilikepancakes @alonb @kpopis4life @veeyang5 @NiktaIrin @camcam16 @Cree4Tia @KatelynClement @GummyBearRawr @arianafutrell @TiffanyForeman @LaurieLegendre @karlavaldez46 @dalynnbeck @LikeABird @jellybeank10 @michellefuentes @MaryBrychel @notmyday @ItsTaeHarris @CarlaMeister @EsmeraldaJC @pkher13 @free516937 @esmeraldagutirr @teemakee @Shanelle61 @mckinzieb @LeRose1988 @daviskaitlin @russelroche47 @AsianInvasion97 @naoeylor27 @alebarrera110 @Carolin1 @SimoneS1s @isehinamori @msangie906 @tusarika @LeslieHerrera @KPOPcari1395 @sarismiel @manimomopanda @nicolealuna601 @destiny1419 @MariaNegret @xxgrungexx @xxMollxx @LiliRamos @soejitzee @Joepoofy @mp512214 @Evalise @KatieShiminski @ruthmilian89

Creepy Dolls Mysteriously Pop Up In London.
If you were traveling through London earlier this month, you may have come across quite a hair-raising surprise. Two living and extremely ominous-looking porcelain dolls were reported to have stalked many of the city's popular sites this month - including the Regents Street shopping district and Charing Cross station. The two were dressed in pale pink Victorian-style clothing with identical blank states and auburn hair, and were often found either holding hands, holding onto a precious toy, or pushing along a black vintage stroller through popular neighborhoods. Understandably, London commuters were a little freaked out. Eventually, witnesses took to social media to share their videos and pictures, and many people began to hunt for the dolls' origin and identities. Soon enough, it was announced that the dolls were sent out to help market Thorpe Park, a popular amusement park and tourist destination, and Minds Wanted, their upcoming collaboration with illusionist Derren Brown. Opening next March, Minds Wanted is the world's first 'immersive psychological attraction' - a 13-minute ride that caters specifically to fans of psychological thrillers that the company vows will 'manipulate the human mind'. In an official statement, Derren explained why they decided to go about such a creepy form of advertising: "I believe we are moving toward a future where theme park attractions not only give you a physical experience but also play with your mind and the concept of what is real. The Victorian twin dolls, who have popped up around London this week, are just a taster of what my new attraction has in store for visitors to Thorpe Park next spring." So now I want to know: Would you guys want to write a 13-minute psychological thrill ride? Or have these dolls sufficiently scarred you for life? Personally, I hate getting scared as a form of entertainment, but I'll be honest and admit that I'm at least pretty curious about how this mysterious ride is going to pan out. Let me know how YOU feel in the comments below, and for more WTF news, follow my WTF Street Journal collection.
