NEWS] ‘The Heirs’ reveals its first script reading session

The production team for upcoming SBS TV Wed-Thu drama ‘The Heirs’ has recently revealed for the first time, photos from its first script reading session which saw the involvement of its star-studded cast including Lee Min Ho, Park Shin Hye, CNBLUE’s Kang Min Hyuk, f(x)’s Krystal, Kim Woo Bin, Choi Jin Hyuk, ZE:A’s Park Hyungsik, and many others.
‘The Heirs’ which will premiere on October 9th, had already grabbed much attention beforehand for its star-studded cast line-up of pretty boys and girls. The production team has now revealed photos from its first script reading session to drum up even more anticipation among fans.
The first script reading session was revealed to have been held on August 5th at the SBS Production Center in Ilsan. Those in attendance were Lee Min Ho, Park Shin Hye, Kang Min Hyuk, Krystal, Kim Woo Bin, Kim Ji Won, Choi Jin Hyuk, Im Joo Eun, Park Hyungsik, Kang Ha Na, Jun Soo Jin, Kim Sung Ryung, Kim Mi Kyung, Yoon Son Ha, Park Joon Geum, Choi Won Young, Choi Jin Ho, and others as they officially began the first step to filming the drama.
The session lasted for more than 4 hours, but the cast members didn’t show any signs of fatigue and concentrated on reading their scripts. It was like they were actually filming it at the film set with their script reading, and showed their dedication and passion for ‘The Heirs’.
Lee Min Ho, Park Shin Hye, Kang Min Hyuk, Krystal, Kim Woo Bin, Kim Ji Won, and the young cast members especially had digested their characters fully, and done full preparation beforehand, and their hard work was evident for all to see at the session. They were able to recite their lines fluently, and totally got into their respective characters with relative ease.
Lee Min Ho plays the role of Kim Tan who is the heir of Empire Group, while Park Shin Hye lives a life of poverty as Cha Eun Sang, who is the daughter of the Empire Group’s housekeeper.
Kang Min Hyuk and Krystal are cast respectively as the gentle Yoon Chan Young and Lee Bo Na, who is the bubbly daughter of an entertainment executive. Kim Woo Bin is cast as the ambitious and passionate Choi Young Do, who is the heir of Welcome luxury resort, while Kim Ji Won is cast as Rachel Ryu who is the haughty and chic heiress of a major hotel group, Crystal.
The talented supporting cast which include Choi Jin Hyuk, Im Joo Eun, Kim Sung Ryung, Kim Mi Kyung, Yoon Son Ha, Park Joon Geum, Jung Dong Hwan, Choi Won Young, and Choi Jin Ho, were able to infuse emotions while reciting their lines at the session, and perfectly got into character. Their performances which was like actual filming at the film set, left one anticipating the actual broadcast of ‘The Heirs’ starting next month on SBS TV.
The focus and realistic performances of the cast also got the mood up at the session. Everyone was able to smile, get along with one another, crack jokes, and have long conversations at the session.
Screen writer Kim Eun Suk and director Kang Shin Hyo also participated in the session, as they gave dedicated guidance to everyone reciting the lines. Even after the session had concluded, they continued to talk with the cast members about their respective roles, and expressed their belief in them, as they gave encouragement to one another.
Hwa & Dam Pictures expressed, “The cast and production company have voiced their strong approval of the strong script for ‘The Heirs’. Although everyone had gotten together for the first time for the session, everyone was able to perform very well and worked well with another. It has totally exceeded our expectations, and it is undoubtedly the strongest cast line-up in the whole of South Korea. ‘The Heirs’ is already a huge topic among viewers, and everyone can see that the cast are working hard to produce a great production. We hope that everyone can continue to look forward to this drama ‘The Heirs’ until it finally airs next month.”
‘The Heirs’ is penned by hit screen writer Kim Eun Suk who previously wrote for ‘Secret Garden’ and ‘A Gentleman’s Dignity’. The drama will be directed by Kang Hyo Shin who last did ‘Tazza’ and ‘Midas’. The drama depicts the friendships and love lives of young, rich heirs and Cha Eun Sang (Park Shin Hye), who is considered ordinary and comes from a poor family.
