NFL Dads Tackle Hair Styling In This Pantene Campaign.
Every year, major sponsors shell out some serious cash to grab our attention during the Super Bowl, by far the largest single sporting event of the year. They enlist A-List celebrities, bust out the CGI, and have the ability to transform a typical 30-second spot into a minute long movie of epic proportions. However, if there's one thing that these companies can learn from haircare brand Pantene this year, it's that turning on America's feels doesn't have to be that complicated - just bring in the adorableness of some NFL kids! Pantene's 'Dad-Do' Super Bowl campaign features a number of popular NFL fathers taking a stab at styling their daughters' hair with Pantene products. Like you could probably guess, they definitely struggle through it, but with some adorable encouragement from their daughters, the results are very much 'aww'-worthy. (My personal favorite is pictured above: DeAngelo Williams of the Pittsburgh Steelers versus his daughter Rhiya's braids and bows.) Benjamin Watson, tight end for the New Orleans Saints, displayed some pigtail game earning an impressed high five from his daughter, Grace. (He tried to argue that bigger hands make it hard for athletes to style hair, but he didn't do too bad for a first-timer!) The Dallas Cowboys' Jason Witten's adorable daughter Landry was SUPPOSED to get a braided ballerina bun, but let's just say there were some complications on the way. (Hey, if there's anything the Cowboys learned this season, it's that you can't win 'em all!) Click the video above for a look at the finished 30-second Super Bowl ad, or visit Pantene's official YouTube Channel to watch the full styling videos from each athlete. So how do you think they did? Was this concept just as adorable to you as it was to me? Let me know in the comments below and for more trending videos from across the web, follow my YouTube Nation collection!
NFL Pro Bowl rosters released!
The NFL has released the rosters for the 2016 Pro Bowl! Regardless of your feelings on the Pro Bowl (I personally never watch it and think it's just asking for players to get injured unnecessarily), it is always fun to see who has been selected. Just like last year, when the league abandoned the standard NFC vs. AFC format in favor of a draft, this year's teams will be drafted by Jerry Rice and Michael Irving before the game. That's a pretty cool concept, if you ask me! This leads to a huge number of players selected and it's pretty hard to make sense of the whole roster. I'll pick out some highlights: Quarterback It's no surprise that Cam Newton led all players in votes, alongside Tom Brady. Those two are almost sure to be the starting QBs for their teams. Carson Palmer could challenge Brady for the other starting QB, but I bet Tom takes it due to his reputation. Running Back The running backs are led by Adrian Peterson and Devonta Freeman, easily the two best RBs in the league this year. The other top players selected include rookie Todd Gurley and surprising comeback player Doug Martin, who was great a few years ago but has struggled until this year. It's nice to see him playing well again for Tampa Bay, and he deserves to be in the Pro Bowl. Wide Receiver No real surprises here, as all the normal cast of characters are present: Odell Beckham, Calvin Johnson, Antonio Brown and more. The biggest surprise is probably Brandon Marshall, who most figured was too old to have a good season with the Jets, but Marshall has dialed back the clock and looks like one of the league's best again. He definitely deserves the honor. Defensive End Of course JJ Watt makes the roster! And he's almost sure to be the first defensive player selected in the fantasy draft. Watt has only improved his reputation as the league's best defensive player this season playing for Houston. He's joined in the Pro Bowl by Ziggy Ansah, Mohammad Wilkerson, and others. Linebacker One of the most important players on one of the league's most feared defenses is Bobby Wagner, who thoroughly deserves his Pro Bowl selection. He'll be one of the top linebackers selected for sure, though others fighting for that honor will be Jamie Collins of the Patriots and NaVorro Bowman of the 49ers, who is having a great season on a terrible team. Cornerback Chiefs rookie CB Marcus Peters has been a total stud this season and will join RB Gurley as one of the rookies in the game. He is deserving of his place and will be a superstar for years and years to come. Other notable corners selected include Patrick Peterson, Josh Norman, Darrelle Revis and, of course, Richard Sherman. Are you looking forward to the Pro Bowl? Does the game catch your attention at all with the new format of the fantasy draft? NFL Week 12 Pick 'Em
With Week 12 upon us, it's time for teams to really start making their push toward the playoffs. Let's take a look at some of the biggest games around the league. Steelers vs. Seahawks Seattle will look to ride rookie RB Thomas Rawls as they hope to solidify their playoff chances. They're currently behind the Cardinals for the NFC West division lead but are in prime position to take one of the two Wild Card spots in the NFC, with the rest of the conference pretty weak overall. The Steelers are in a similar position, as they are leading the AFC Wild Card charge but trail the Bengals for the lead in the AFC North. Prediction: The Seahawks take this one at home. They're too tough to beat in Seattle. 20-16, Seahawks. Patriots vs. Broncos It'll be another start for QB Brock Osweiler in place of the injured (and ineffective) Peyton Manning in what is always one of the most exciting games of the year between the Pats and the Broncos. The Patriots are looking to improve on their 10-0 record and join the Panthers as the other undefeated team this late in the season. Prediction: Even though the game is in Denver, the Patriots are too good. The Broncos will put up a good fight thanks to their dominant defense, but it won't be enough. Patriots 17, Broncos 10. Vikings vs. Falcons This is the game of the week for me, with the Vikings looking to take advantage of division rival's loss, as the Packers fell to the Bears on Thanksgiving. With a win, Minnesota will take a lead in the NFC North. The Falcons started hot but have lost a few games in a row. They'll be hoping to get back on track to remain in control of a Wild Card spot. The division is out of the question with the undefeated Panthers set to take the cake, but Atlanta are still looking good, provided they can put together a few more wins. Prediction: This will be a really tight game and it's tough to call, but I'm giving it to the home team in a shootout. Atlanta 31, Minnesota 27. Enjoy the games, everyone!
[DISCUSSION] Bad Sportsmanship?
The Carolina Panthers are indisputably the best football team right now. They are currently 13-0 and already clinched a spot in the playoffs. But... During their game against the Atlanta Falcons, they were crushing the Falcons 38-0. So they decided to take a team photo before the game even ended. I'm just interested to see what my sports fans think. Do you guys think what the Panthers did was disrespectful to the Falcons? Packers Falcons Showed Plenty of Fireworks and More
Monday Night Football was a treat with a high scoring affair. The Packers won 43 to 37 after being up big in the first half but the Falcons stormed back and had a chance at the end but could not convert on the onsides kick and contain the Packers rushing attack and stop them from getting a first down. Some things from the game: 1) The passing attack of the Packers is hard to stop (DUH). Jordy Nelson can beat you every way and Randall Cobb has become a speedy possession receiver that knows where to go when Rodgers is in trouble. Combine that with well timed screens to Starks and Lacy and opponents have little choice but to pick their poison when trying to defend them. 2) The Packers CBs cannot contain the star receivers. Multiple times tonight one had to ask why the Packers kept single covering Julio Jones. The man simply tore them apart dropping 259 yards and a touchdown (and was THIS close to having 2 more TDs.) 3) The Falcons have a playoff caliber team. They showed tonight that they can play with the best of them and they gave the Packers a tough game at Lambeau. If the Falcons make it to the playoffs watch out. They could make some noise. 4) Julio Jones has reached the echelon of "elite" receivers. That is without quesiton. 259 yards on 11 catches is crazy and he could have gotten more if he didn't ding his hip in the start of the 4th quarter. No team should leave him single covered and the only thing stopping this guy is injury.
