SAY WHAT? 9 drama subtitles that are hilarious out of context
by Suzy Forman on Thu, Sep 12, 2013
After marathoning your new favorite drama for seven hours straight, you may think your strained eyes are beginning to deceive you. "She couldn't have possibly just said that," you whisper to yourself, rewinding ten seconds only to find that you read the subtitles correctly the first time. Whether it's because of bad translations or just ridiculous plot lines, some subtitles will leave you dumbfounded (and usually laughing), especially when taken out of context. Here are some of the best:
...I don't even want to know. (Heartstrings)
Good for you...but why?! (Coffee Prince)
...Um, sure. (Flower Boy Ramen Shop)
The subtitles + that face = endless possibilities. (Full House)
I know these are out of context screenshots, but this scene is even funnier if you're listening to him speak. (Greatest Love, Episode 4, about 33 minutes in)
I don't know what's going on, but I'm intrigued to say the least. (The Hero Yoshihiko and the Demon King's Castle)
THE ULTIMATE BETRAYAL. (Secret Garden)
Ouch...I think. (The Master's Sun)
And the line that inspired this post. (My Lovely Sam Soon)
If the intense stories and beautiful actors weren't enough to lure you into the addictive (yet totally silly) world of Asian dramas, I bet you're at least curious now about what's going on in these screenshots. Or you've already seen them all and you're laughing with me.
