Hey, all, next chapter is here, right on schedule. As predicted, this week of work was hell. But I still managed to write some. The other reason I'm being slow is because I keep getting hit with ideas for other stories so I pause long enough to write down the scenes that pop up in my head. So, at least I'll be able to start something after this story. I have a few ideas so when I get close to the end of this story, I'll ask what people want to read next. I promise I'll try to write more concisely. After this story, though... My later chapters are hitting mid- to high-3000s. But I hope that just means more for you to enjoy.
Also, I'm not good with making those other types of cards, so I didn't make one for Thanksgiving. But I really want to let you all know that I'm very grateful to have you guys on Vingle. Being so far away from my family and friends is hard, but writing has really provided me with a healthy outlet/distraction. I couldn't do it without all the encouragement from you guys and the friends I've made on here.
Shoutout to @Mavis2478 whose story this is but allowed me to write it. Thank you for helping the writer's block and allowing me to have creative license with it while also helping me when I had ideas.
Shoutout also to @twistedPuppy who has been my friend both on and off of Vingle. Talking with you has been so awesome. I look forward to continuing our friendship.
Anyhow, I'll stop the rambling...again. Please do enjoy!
Thank you to all of you who are reading, liking, clipping, following, and commenting.
Disclaimer: Many of the characters aside from BTS are made up and BTS themselves are not BTS in this story. And, of course, I don't know the BTS boys personally so their personalities are probably mostly fictional.

Narrator POV
A few hours later, Jiyoung finally managed get JiEun to feel satisfied with their purchases. Hoseok, Jimin, and Jin’s arms were loaded with bags. JiEun called the others to let them know to meet at the entrance where their cars were being brought. The four boys that had not gone with the girls laughed at the ones whose arms were full of bags. Jin told them to not laugh too much before handed his load to Taehyung and Hoseok gave his load to Jungkook. They walked out to the cars and loaded everything.
Votes were cast and majority won for a small game park close to them. So off they went. They spent a couple hours doing go-carts, miniature golf, laser tag, batting cages, and a few other games. Then it was time for barbeque. The maknaes cooked and Jiyoung discovered that she really loved barbeque. Everyone stuffed themselves. They tried to have as much fun as they could before they had to go to bed and return to their work lives for another week. Sadly, they headed back home. Both the guys and girls carried Jiyoung’s new possessions to her and JiEun’s room.
The guys had to be up early in the morning so they wished the girls a goodnight. Jiyoung noticed that, while the others easily gave her a goodnight hug, Jimin and Hoseok seemed to be uncomfortable with it. Was it because they were with her all day? Were they sick of her already? Jiyoung was quick to thank both of them for staying with her throughout the day. In response, Hoseok had ruffled her hair gently. Jimin looked like he wanted to do something similar but instead kept his hands at his side and smiled. Jimin was the last to leave and he shut the door behind him.
JiEun ran to her desk and grabbed two pairs of scissors. “My favorite part of shopping,” she said, handing a pair to Jiyoung, “is cutting the tags off.”
While they cut the tags off and set the clothes in a pile for the maids to wash in the morning, the girls talked about random things. They talked about shopping and plans to continue next weekend (which Jiyoung insisted wasn’t necessary). Then they talked about the typical girl talk conversation: boys. Jiyoung revealed that she once had a crush on one of the boys from her village school when she was in 6th grade and once again in 8th grade.
“Actually,” Jiyoung said, “I had a crush on the guy that confessed to me. The one that HyunJung liked.”
“And you turned him down?”
“Yeah. I didn’t want to, but I didn’t want to hurt HyunJung.”
“Why? From what you’ve said, she was a real bitch.”
Jiyoung hummed and contemplated how to explain it. “When I first lived with them, HyunJung wasn’t like that. She was actually pretty nice to me, considering I was a stranger. It was nice to have an unnie, even if she was only older than me by a month. I liked having a sister. But her parents manipulated her to be like that. After I was adopted, they said things like ‘We’d be able to get you that, but now we have someone else to pay for’ or ‘You could go if Jiyoung went with you, but she can’t’.
“One time I even overheard them say ‘If you’re always nice to her, she’ll think she can get away with anything’. Then they would act on it, spoiling me and giving her cheap or used things instead. I noticed really quickly and tried to turn them down but they would just tell HyunJung ‘Look at her thinking she’s better than us, than you’. And HyunJung started to change. When she tried to get people to pick on me at school and they didn’t, it only fed into what her parents had told her. When DaeHyun confessed, it was the last straw for her. She told her parents that I bullied her and that I got the other students to do it also. They knew she was lying, but they didn’t care, it just gave them an excuse to treat me badly.”
“I’m sorry,” JiEun said, hugging Jiyoung. “People suck. Your adoptive parents were pretty crappy and you were stuck with all of them for so long. You know...I’ve always wanted a sister, younger or older. Wanna know a secret?” Jiyoung leaned towards JiEun. “You can’t tell anyone or they’ll kill me.” Jiyoung nodded in understanding and sealed it with a pinky promise. “When I was younger, my parents would make Yoongi-oppa and Namjoon-oppa play with me,” she whispered. “And I used to dress them up in princess clothes like my dolls.”
Jiyoung stared at her with wide eyes and then burst out laughing. She pictured the quiet and brooding Yoongi and the charismatic and contemplative Namjoon in pink, sequined princess gowns. She rolled onto her back. JiEun joined in, vaguely recalling the actual events. They were both laughing so hard that they even started crying.
Jin had been standing just outside the door. He had knocked and, after a few seconds, he slowly opened the door a crack. Instantly, he was struck by a powerful sense of déjà vu. He threw the door open, the irrational part of him expecting to see SooJin there, laughing.
The sound of the door knob hitting the wall startled the girls. The girls absentmindedly wiped away their tears of laughter as they stared at the person who had just burst it. Jiyoung jumped to her feet and started to walk towards Jin.
“Are you okay? Is something wrong?” Jiyoung asked with concern. Jin stood as if in a trance until Jiyoung touched his arm. His eyes blinked rapidly as he came to his senses. “Oppa, are you okay? You look like you’ve seen a ghost.” JiEun removed the rest of the clothes that were sitting on her lap and stood up.
“Yeah, no, sorry. I’m fine. I just—I came to talk to you real quick. But I don’t know what happened. I just heard the laughing and...”
“Is it your sister? Did I remind you of her again?” Jiyoung’s face was sad. She wasn’t sad about Jin mistaking her for his sister so much as she was sad about the feelings he had because she wasn’t SooJin. It hurt her to know that her presence sometimes caused him pain.
Jin quickly recovered, “Just for a second. But that’s because of my brain, not because of you. Actually, you probably don’t even sound like her. It was too long ago for me to remember properly. I think my mind is just trying to play tricks on me.” Jin smiled and pet her head.
“So what brings you here anyway, oppa?” JiEun asked, joining the two.
“Well, I was thinking that maybe next weekend we can start working on turning the study in this hall into a proper bedroom. There’s a ton of paperwork from Hoseok, you, and I so I can’t even ask the maids to do anything about it. We’ll have time this weekend to get it sorted out and maybe even be able to pick out some furniture and decorations.” Jiyoung was unsure how to respond. She knew that JiEun would probably be happy to have her room back, but she also felt bad about taking up space that they were using. Plus, if they needed to buy furniture, it was that much more that she was costing them just from her being here.
Jin and JiEun were quick to pick up on Jiyoung’s hesitancy. “We actually don’t even use the room very often. It’s more like a place we lazily throw our stuff in. We’ve been meaning to clean it out for a long time and turn it back into a guest room, but we didn’t have enough motivation until now,” JiEun told her.
“Yeah. We do most of our work at our workplaces and the few things we do at home, we usually do in one of the libraries or in our rooms,” Jin added. “Truthfully, you being here is actually helping to motivate us to do stuff we’ve been putting off for a long time.”
“I actually have time after classes on Tuesday, so I can start then. I’m so excited to go shopping for your room.”
“It’s not my room. It’s your guest room that I’ll be using for a little while. You should just get stuff that you need for a guest room,” Jiyoung insisted sadly. She wished she could stay forever, but also knew that it was only temporary. And that knowledge saddened her. She didn’t know why she felt so attached to these people she had only met in the wee hours of the previous day. All she knew was that the thought of leaving them gave her an empty feeling. And that it would only get worse the longer she stayed.
Jin cleared his throat. “Regardless, we’re gonna deck it out as much as possible. So you better be ready to help us pick stuff out.” He smiled and Jiyoung smiled in return. “Well, I’ll let you girls get back to JiEun’s favorite part of buying clothes. Have a good night.” The girls returned the good night and went back to the last few items left.
“I know you have to leave...” JiEun said “but you like it here right? I mean, I’m not gonna tell you to forget your aunt and stay with us, but you’re enjoying it while you’re here at least, right?”
“More than you can possibly imagine,” Jiyoung replied with a sad smile.
Jiyoung woke up the next morning at her usual time. She had already fallen into a morning routine: wake up, sneak out of bed, change in the bathroom, wash her face, go downstairs. This time, however, she was surprised to find that she was not the only one awake. She could smell breakfast and coffee which meant that the maids were already there. And if the maids had cooked breakfast, at least one of the guys had to be awake. She walked into the dining room and was greeted with Hoseok’s brilliant smile. She found it slightly disturbing that he could still be so cheerful that early in the morning. She found it even more disturbing when Taehyung turned around practically bouncing in his seat. They were definitely related.
“Good morning, noona!” They both called out. Then they simultaneously laughed at the face she made.
“First of all, you guys are too happy for this early in the morning. Second of all, are you sure you guys are cousins and not twins?” Jiyoung challenged causing them both to laugh again.
“Fairly certain. Hate to say it but hyung isn’t nearly as handsome as me,” Taehyung teased.
“Yah! I’m so much more handsome than you, you brat,” Hoseok contended. Jiyoung laughed at the two of them.
“Fine. Let’s ask noona.” Jiyoung stopped laughing. She put her hands in front of her as if to say ‘keep me out of this’. Taehyung ignored her gesture, a suspicious smirk on his face. “Noona, who’s more handsome?”
Jiyoung became flustered. “Um...b-both of you are handsome.”
Taehyung stood up and stopped directly in front of her. Cocking his head sexily, he stared directly into her eyes and asked in a lowered voice, “But who’s more handsome?” Jiyoung’s face flushed a bright red.
“That’s not fair!” Hoseok yelled.
“You’re the one who’s still sitting,” Taehyung retorted, his eyes never wavering.
Before she could register anything, she was pulled to the side and around the table. “Don’t play like that,” Hoseok berated his cousin. “I thought you said you don’t do that to nice girls.” Hoseok pulled out a chair for Jiyoung and sat her down. Turning to her, he said, “Don’t fall for his tricks. It’s easy to get flustered since he usually acts like a cinnamon roll. When he does it, just pinch his side. That’ll snap him out of it.”
Taehyung playfully glared at Hoseok. “Don’t listen to him. He’s just mean. Besides, I may make her flustered, but I think her heart’s already taken.” Hoseok frowned. “You can let go of her hand now,” he directed to Hoseok. Hoseok looked down to find that he was still holding Jiyoung’s hand. He quickly let go of it and jerked his hand back. Jiyoung couldn’t help the disappointment she felt at his reaction. She didn’t know that Hoseok was afraid that he would accidently reveal his feelings and make her uncomfortable since they had only just met. A maid came over with a plate of food for Jiyoung. She started eating with the awkward silence still in the air.
“You guys are too much,” Taehyung broke the silence, laughing.
“What’s that mean?” Hoseok asked.
“Nothing, nothing at all.” Taehyung finished his coffee. “Hurry up, cousin, or you’ll make us late.” And then he took his dishes to the sink. Taehyung left and Hoseok hurried to finish his food.
“You don’t have to worry about me so much,” Jiyoung said. Hoseok looked at her. “I may not be very smart or good with people, but I can take care of myself when it comes to men.” Hoseok cocked an eyebrow. “When they don’t have a knife to my throat,” Jiyoung corrected. They both let out a small laugh.
“I’m sure you can. I’m just worried is all... Taehyung can be...different sometimes. I’ve been there for the aftermath of his heartbreakings. I love him, but I don’t always agree with his behavior. And don’t get me wrong, he’s a good person and he can be a great friend, just...” Hoseok paused for a couple seconds. “Be careful of falling for him...”
Jiyoung nervously put a hand on his arm. “Thank you for worrying about me.” She let out a shy smile. “But you don’t have to worry. I’m not falling for him.” {I’m already falling for you}. Hoseok shyly smiled back, his heart racing at her touch. “Oh!”
“What? Is there something on my face?” He started to wipe his hand over his face. Jiyoung grabbed his hands to stop him. Hoseok froze, it felt like his heart stopped. Jiyoung was too distracted to notice what she was doing.
“Smile again.”
“Huh?” Hoseok was confused about what she was getting at.
“Smile like you were a few seconds ago.” Hoseok hesitantly did. “There!” Jiyoung let go of his hands and rested one finger on his cheek. Hoseok fought to keep from blushing. “Did you know you have a dimple?”
“You have a cute little dimple right here when you smile like that.” Hoseok felt himself fall for her a little bit more. Her fascinated smile was just too much for him.
“You’re the first person to notice that aside from my family and the guys. And even the guys took a few months to notice.” His smile brightened. It was then that Jiyoung finally registered her proximity to Hoseok and that she was touching his face. She pulled away and quickly went back to eating. Hoseok set his elbow on the table, rested his head on his hand, and, now that he had more confidence, watched her unabashedly.
“Hey, noona. Hyung,” greeted Jimin, his voice flat and unamused at the last part.
“Hi, Jimin!” Jiyoung greeted back cheerfully.
“You’re almost done eating already. I guess I’ll have to wake up earlier to be able to enjoy breakfast with you.” His eyes never left Hoseok’s.
“That’s okay. I know you need your beauty sleep,” Hoseok shot back. “Or your recovery time after some nights...”
“Hyung...” Jimin almost growled. Jiyoung’s eyes darted back and forth between the two. She didn’t know what was going on, but she didn’t like the tone in their voices.
“Don’t worry, Jimin. I’m more than happy to stay and talk with you while you’re eating. No need to change your routine on my account.” Jiyoung forced cheerfulness into her voice. Jimin finally broke away from looking at Hoseok to smile at Jiyoung.
“Thanks, I’d love the company.” He patted his pockets. “Wait right there. I left my phone, be right back.” He ran back to his room.
Hoseok put his hand on Jiyoung’s shoulder as he stood up. Leaning close to her ear, he warned, “More than anyone, be careful with Jimin. I love him too, but he’s even better than Tae when it comes to getting girls turned around. He’ll have you so mixed up you won’t even know how to say ‘no’. Just be careful to not lead him on. So far, he’s been able to get any girl he’s set his eyes on. And I don’t mean he forces them, he just has a way of way of changing their minds.” Then he got up and added his dishes to the sink. Jiyoung waited at the table for Jimin to come back.
I know we've seen Sailor Monster and Maid Suga, but I think the Princess look would be even better. What do you think? ;)
And Hoseok and Jimin...those two have me worried.
Anyhow, I hope you enjoyed the chapter. I'm sure it's frustrating right now reading it week to week. 9 chapters for 2 days, what's wrong with me, right? I do have a problem with setting up too much. But don't worry, time will pass more coming up.
For now, though, thank you to everyone still reading and such. It's my motivation for writing when I'm feeling wiped out. I do so hate to disappoint and it's killing me that it's taking so long. I don't know how this next week will be because they haven't given me my full schedule yet, but I will work very hard in the time I do have. So thank you all.
I look forward to seeing you all next week. Same time, same place.

I wonder how big brother protective Jin is going to be once he fully realizes Jimin and Hoseok both have fallen for her.
