200 Pounds Beauty

Hanna Kang is an overweight phone sex part-timer and a ghost singer for Ammy, a famous pop singer who actually lip syncs. Instead of being famous for her own amazing vocal talent, Han-na sings backstage during Ammy's performance and Ammy takes all the credit, while Han-na records all of Ammy's songs. Other than that, Hanna has a huge crush for Sang-jun who's a director and his arrogant father owns the entertainment company. One day, Ammy purposely insults Hanna's weight in front of Sang-jun during his birthday party, knowing well that Han-na likes him. While crying in the bathroom, Hanna overhears Sang-jun telling Ammy that even though they are just using Hanna for her voice, they must be kind to her so she will not walk out on them. Heartbroken, Hanna attempts suicide with a gas leak but is interrupted by a phone call from one of her phone sex regulars who happens to be a top plastic surgeon. She asks him to perform a head-to-toe plastic surgery operation on her, for which she'll pay him back later on, but he denies her request. She then tries to blackmail him with recorded tapes and destroys them in front of him to convince him about the depth of her insecurity and pain in being fat. The surgeon refuses to operate further on Hanna, but Hanna threatens to inform his wife about his secret fascination. Then, Hanna makes a moving speech that she does not want to undergo surgery merely to be beautiful, but for the sake of love and as a vote of confidence so that she can live a happy life, and the surgeon is deeply moved in the end. Hanna puts herself in seclusion for a year as she recovers from the changes from the surgery and weight loss.
When she comes back from the hospital, Hanna is incredibly beautiful and slender. Not even her best friend Jung-min recognizes her until a trip to the bathroom shows she still has her back tattoo. At a restaurant, Hanna is made aware that Ammy blames her for making her postpone the recording of her 2nd album and that she was forced to do a sitcom show. With Jung-min's help, Hanna creates a new identity for herself; she is now a Korean-American from California named Jenny. After auditioning to be Ammy's secret vocalist again, she earns her own recording contract instead from Sang-jun, claiming that she is "all-natural". In the meantime, Ammy, oblivious just like everyone else of Hanna's new identity, is afraid of a possible competition with Jenny for album sales and desperately tries to find Han-na so that she can record her own postponed album (since she can't sing the songs herself) by spending time with Han-na's father who is in a hospital due to mental problems, possibly Alzheimer's. She hopes that in spending time with him, he can help her find Han-na so she can convince her to come back and help record her 2nd album. While in the bathroom, Ammy gets a call from Sang-jun who tells her that he isn't pleased with her attempts to find her ghost singer so she can finish her postponed 2nd album. He orders Ammy to give up her search for Hanna and give Jenny a chance to help her finish her album. He already had given up searching for Hanna and wants her to do the same. Sang-jun also orders Ammy to focus on memorizing her lines for a show(that he got her in much to her detest) or she'll lose her job. Disgusted with the reminder of memorizing her lines for the sitcom and being threatened with losing her job, Ammy tells him that she'll find Hanna because like a dog, she'll come running back to her. Meanwhile, romance begins to blossom between Jenny and Sang-jun, as he continues to promote Jenny, in effect boosting Hanna's confidence in her new self. However, after spending time with Han-na's father and Jenny, Ammy eventually realizes that Jenny is actually Hanna in disguise. She begins her attack on Hanna right away in an attempt at revenge for making her postpone the release of her 2nd album.
I have also seen this personally and absolutely loved it... I love the actress who plays Hanna/Jenny - Kim Ah-joong but was not really please with the actor who played Sang-jun - Joo Jin-mo that while attractive his acting left something to be desired... He was ok but I like Ah-joong's acting better... Now I do admit that I felt all the actors had chemistry with each other and so that made it very pleasant to watch... You should check it out!!!

EXO Chanyeol is To Possibly Be in a New Drama!
Hottie Yeolie alert yass ♡♡ Ello mates! Today one of the topics we are going to be discussing about is our happy virus Chanyeol, who is currently in talks about playing a new role in the new MBC drama 'Gaia' ! He is in talks for playing the character role 'Seo Si Young', he is the cousin and fellow group member of Seo Jun Oh, which is supposedly lead role being considered by actor Kang Ha Neul. Girl's Generation Yuri is also in talks for the drama. Awesome right? MBC 'Gaia' is a collab project between Korea and China. This will be produced by SM C&C. link: (Credit to Soompi) http://www.soompi.com/2016/04/25/exos-chanyeol-in-talks-for-role-in-new-mbc-drama/ Are you guys looking forward to this drama? Korean TV, This Is Just Getting Ridiculous
So by now we all know about Produce 101. In case you don't, though, here's a short breakdown: There have been two seasons on MBC (one for girls, one for boys) that takes 101 trainees and puts them through tests and voting until only a certain number remain and they create a new idol group (for a short period of time, then they go back to their original companies. The channel KBS is preparing to take it to the next level. The company is preparing a show currently called "The Final 99 Match" that will take performers that have had the chance to debut, but never found success. There are plenty of idol groups (unfortuately called "nugus") that have never really succeeded. Ideally, this show is where they get a chance to join a new group and get a shot at fame. That's sort of normal and understandable, but this is where it gets absolutely ridiculous. There reportedly will be 250 BOYS AND 250 GIRLS competing. 9 of each gender will survive and be placed into groups (number of groups have not been decided) I understand that idol TV shows are getting popular, much like how American Idol in the States led to The X Factor, The Voice, America's Got Talent, etc etc etc. But 500 people?! When they've already survived the harsh kpop audition and training system to debut? That must be so heartbreaking for all of them. I'd feel less bad if they were complete rookies with zero training but dang, to already debut...its like NU'EST being in Produce 101 right now. So sad for the fans :/ I wish everyone luck and hope it changes some lives for the better but I have a feeling this competition is going to be a heart ache. What do you guys think? source

[Before K-Drama] Boys Over Flowers!
It's time for another "Before K-Drama" where we talk about what dramas were originally (webtoon, manga, book, etc) I'm pretty sure you all have heard of this little drama: Boys Over Flowers: It is based on Japanese manga Hana Yori Dango (花より男子) written by Yoko Kamio. There have been Japanese, Taiwanese, Indian, and, of course, a Korean remake! Most of them have had not only drama versions but also full length films! (It's called Meteor Garden in Taiwanese!) The Korean version, "Boys Over Flowers," is usually people's first K-drama and if you haven't seen it then you've definitely heard of it t least once! (Also, I don't know why Jan-di's legs are cut off in this photo hahaha) I actually watched Hana Yori Dango (the Japanese remake) completely by accident! My parents were trying to get me my first ever Korean DVD for Christmas and sort of failed ;P But it ended up being a good thing! They thought they got me Boys Over Flowers, but they got me the movie version of Hana Yori Dango! And it was sooo good! (Like, cheesy Japanese drama good, so...hahah) I haven't watched the drama yet though :D I haven't seen Meteor Garden (the Taiwanese version) either even though this was the first drama version of the manga! Which of these have you seen or read!? and if you havent seen any... 4 Taiwanese Dramas Remade into Korean
I was talking to @cindystran recently about how I've only seen one Taiwanese drama ever, but it looks like I'll have to dive into that world soon! Check out these 4 Taiwanese drama that have Korean counterparts! 1. Fated to Love You Taiwanese version: Starring Joe Chen and Ethan Juan. This Taiwanese drama came out in 2008, and it broke rating records. Korean version: Starring Jang Na Ra, Jang Hyuk and Choi Jin Hyuk. The series reunited Jang Hyuk and Jang Na Ra. Plot: Making a mistake after having way too many drinks can change everything. Lee Gun is the successor to a large company run by his family. Kim Mi Young is an average-looking secretary in a law firm who earned the nickname “Post-It” for her inability to say no to her colleagues who dump work on her. When the two cross paths one night after having too much to drink, they end up having a one-night stand. When Mi Young finds out afterwards that she is pregnant, what will become of them? 2. My Queen Taiwanese version: starring Ethan Juan and Cheryl Yang. And it was awarded the Best Channel Advertising at the 44th Golden Bell Awards. Korean version: named "Witch's Romance". starring Uhm Jung Hwa and Park Seo Joon. Plot: Two hard working people who have lost love in their lives meet and despite the age difference, they find a lot in common with each other, including their scarred hearts. 3. In Time With You Taiwanese version: Starring Ariel Lin, Chen Bolin and Sunny Wang. "Li Daren" probably will be the most ideal prince in every girl's dream. Korean version: The name of this Korean drama will is The Time We Were Not In Love with Ha Ji Won and Lee Jin Wook . Plot: Oh Ha-Na and Choi Won are both 34-years-old. They have been friends for 17 years. Oh Ha-Na is currently a career woman with an honest and confident personality. Choi Won works as an assistant purser for an airline. He has always helped Oh Ha-Na whenever she got into trouble. Will Oh Ha-Na and Choi Won find love? 4. Absolute Boyfriend Taiwanese version: Starring Jiro Wang and Gu Hye Sun. Consider how cute and pretty this couple is; you don't want to miss it. Its about an adorable girl who is consistently seeking for love but always has a lack of luck...so she has one custom made. Korean version: There have been rumors about Absolute Boyfriend being remade into a Korean drama for a really long time. There is a Japanese version though!!! Plot: Riiko Izawa has never had a boyfriend and she has been rejected by every boy she has ever had a crush on. When she returns a lost cell phone to an oddly dressed salesman, she mentions wanting a boyfriend. To thank her, he directs her to his company's website, Kronos Heaven. When she visits the site, Riiko finds it's a site to create your perfect lover. Thinking it's a game, she customizes and accidentally orders one. The next day, her new lover arrives.
