[Before K-Drama] Boys Over Flowers!
It's time for another "Before K-Drama" where we talk about what dramas were originally (webtoon, manga, book, etc) I'm pretty sure you all have heard of this little drama: Boys Over Flowers: It is based on Japanese manga Hana Yori Dango (花より男子) written by Yoko Kamio. There have been Japanese, Taiwanese, Indian, and, of course, a Korean remake! Most of them have had not only drama versions but also full length films! (It's called Meteor Garden in Taiwanese!) The Korean version, "Boys Over Flowers," is usually people's first K-drama and if you haven't seen it then you've definitely heard of it t least once! (Also, I don't know why Jan-di's legs are cut off in this photo hahaha) I actually watched Hana Yori Dango (the Japanese remake) completely by accident! My parents were trying to get me my first ever Korean DVD for Christmas and sort of failed ;P But it ended up being a good thing! They thought they got me Boys Over Flowers, but they got me the movie version of Hana Yori Dango! And it was sooo good! (Like, cheesy Japanese drama good, so...hahah) I haven't watched the drama yet though :D I haven't seen Meteor Garden (the Taiwanese version) either even though this was the first drama version of the manga! Which of these have you seen or read!? and if you havent seen any... K-Drama Kisses That Stole My Heart
So I wanted to do this game that was created by @kpopandkimchi because it looked fun!!! Here is my list of my favorite K-Drama kiss scenes!!! (Note: The pic above is from Fabulous Boys, the Taiwanese version of You're Beautiful.) 1. Playful Kiss (Korean Version) starring Jung So-min and Kim Hyun-joong The way he teases her about forgetting him is so cute. 2. Mischievous Kiss (Japanese Version) starring Honoka Miki and Yuki Kurukawa I love this one...... 3. Love Rain starring Jung Ha Na and Jang Keun-suk I fangirled so hard when I saw this scene. I must have replayed it at least a dozen times. 4. Coffee Prince starring Yoon Eun-hye and Gong Yoo Probably one of the sexiest kiss scenes I have seen yet..... 5. Bride Of The Century starring Yung Jin-sung and Lee Hung-gi One of the most sensual kiss scenes I have seen involving Hong-gi. 6. Princess Hours starring Yoon Eun-hye and Ju Ji-hoon Seeing two people coming to terms that they are absolutely in love with each other is enough to make anyone swoon. 7. Flower Boy Next Door starring Park Shin-hye and Yoon Shi-yoon I just love Park Shin-hye in this k-drama and this scene when he returns to her is so sweet. So there you have it. That is my list so far. It might change since I just started Orange Marmalade. Lol but tell me what ya think of these scenes?!?! I ♡ ya my K-Drama/K-Pop family!!!! @majesticx @punkpandabear @Hollyrose19 @VixenViVi @aliciasalinas @CaibraeElane @amandamuska @AimeeH @edway66 @TheKS3D @jimjammin @kpopandkimchi @B1A4BTS5ever @ReddViolet @bts486 @ninachan @KatieRussell @KpopGaby @Foxxjinxx @SaraHanna @MissCandyFreak @Marilovexoxo @SHINee808 @Exoexo @IlseJimenez @luotl88 @lilybaby @BluBear07 @B2STANG88 @AngelJoong86 @Emealia (Tag me if you've done yours!!! 2 New K-Drama Recommendations
Here are two drama's I've recently started that I highly recommend! [The World of the Married] Main Cast: Kim Hee Ae, Park Hae Joon, Han So Hee Episodes: 16 (1 Hour Episodes, though some are longer) - Currently Airing Rating: 15+ (19+ in South Korea) Genre: Romance, Family, Melodrama, Drama Other Major Tags: Revenge, Infidelity, Doctor, Western Remake Synopsis: Ji Sun Woo is a family medicine doctor. She is married to Lee Tae Oh and they have a son. She seems to have everything, including a successful career and a happy family, but she is betrayed by her husband and others. Meanwhile, Lee Tae Oh dreams of becoming a famous movie director. He runs an entertainment business with the support of his wife Ji Sun Woo. Even though he loves his wife, Lee Tae Oh falls into a dangerous relationship. (Source: AsianWiki) My Thoughts: I am only 15 minutes into the first episode and so far it is good. I decided to start watching this drama because Kim Doyoung (of NCT) recommended it. I would like to note that this drama is not for a younger audience as their are mature scenes. (In fact there was a mature scene in the first 15 minutes.) I ALSO want to say that this is one of the top dramas in Korea right now. It is currently the 3rd highest rated drama in Korean cable TV history beating out POPULAR titles such as Goblin, Reply 1988, Signal, Itaewon Class, and Hotel Del Luna. [Find Me in Your Memory] Main Cast: Moon Ga Young, Kim Dong Wook Episodes: 32 (30 minute episodes) - Currently Airing Rating: 15+ Genre: Romance, Melodrama, Drama Other Major Tags: Hyperthymesia, Memory-loss, Trauma, (Tragedy could probably be added in my opinion), Comedy, (Mytsery could also be added in my opinion) Synopsis: A love story between a man who remembers every second of his life and a woman who forgot her painful past. (Source: Wikipedia) My Thoughts: I am 6 episodes in and its really good so far. Everything is happening at a slow pace right now but I think that's for a reason, it makes it more impactful. I think it's interesting to see Hyperthymesia in this drama because the last time I saw it was in Remember: War of the Son with Yoo Seung Ho and he used his extraordinary memory to solve his father's murder but it came with a price. It's interesting to see Kim Dong Wook's character live a more or less normal life compared to Yoo Seung Ho's. And each episode makes you wonder what will happen next because of the two's past. I definitely recommend checking it out! See my last K-drama recommendations below: Memorist & Arthdal Chronicles Rugal & 365: Repeat the Year - Asian Drama/Movie Taglist: @KendraReeve @travelloveskin @MelissaGarza @KpopIsPleasing @LostMage @2ilVer @LinnyOk @rocklvr @VeronicaArtino @Just2BLoved @Kyla05 If you'd like to be tagged in any of my Asian drama/actor stuff please let me know!
If BTS Were in Boys Over Flowers
Now, I think there are a lot of things wrong with the plot of BoF (mainly the boys treat Jan-di like crap) but its still funto imagine it as a less problematic drama. Here's who I'd cast! Gu Jun Pyo - Suga The leader of the F4 and heir to the Shinhwa Group, one of the biggest companies in South Korea. He is hot-tempered and believes that there is nothing that money can't buy. Though he's unable to express his feelings, deep down, he has a heart of gold. He torments Jan-di after she stands up to his bullying ways, but ends up falling in love with her and will do anything to protect her. Yoon Ji Hoo - V A member of the F4 and the grandson of a former president of Korea. He has a driving phobia after being involved in a car accident that killed his parents and left him the only survivor. He is initially in love with his childhood friend Seo-hyun, who helped him overcome his social anxiety. Calm and gentle, his musical talent catches Jan-di's attention and she begins to develop feelings for him. So Yi Jung - Jungkook A member of the F4 and a skilled potter. His family owns the country's biggest art museum. After losing his first love to his brother, he becomes a Casanova. He eventually changes his playboy ways when he realizes that he likes Ga-eul. Song Woo Bin A member of the F4, his family runs the country's largest construction company, which Woo-bin later admits has strong connections to organized crime. However, he has excellent business sense and is very charismatic. He's a super nice guy that happens to be a gangster lol and of course RM, Jin, and Jimin are the dad, mom, and little brother :) How would you cast BOF?
