Sorry, It's been almost two weeks since I posted but sometimes I just don't feel the writing bug 😆. But this is a good one, I promise. Enjoy! And thank you for reading! 🤗. Start from the beginning: Chapter 1
Nara was dreading opening the door. The knot on her stomach only kept getting bigger and bigger. She never expected to have to tell everything to Jackson. She had hoped that she would eventually be substituted by someone else. That would've been better than having to see the look of betrayal in Jackson's face. Nara took a deep breath and turned the door knob. She walked into the apartment slowly, dreading every single step ahead of her. She could see Jackson sitting in the couch, his back to her. "Do you know?" Jackson asked taking her by surprise. "What?" Asked Nara softly. Jackson turned to face Nara, anger evident in his face, "Do you know? About me?" Nara swallowed and lowered her head assenting yes, avoiding Jackson's gaze. "How long?" Asked Jackson standing up. "All my life," Nara said looking at Jackson. "Who are you?" Jackson asked confused. "Jackson, please, sit down. I promise, I'll explain everything" Jackson didn't want to trust Nara but something inside him made him follow her order. He sat reluctantly and watched as Nara took a seat on the coffee table in front of him. He could see her hands were trembling. He wanted to take them into his and reassure her that everything would be okay, but he knew that that was a lie. Nothing will ever be okay again. Jackson felt the minutes passed by so slowly with every word that came out of Nara's mouth. He thought only his family and uncle knew about him. But know he was finally seeing the bigger picture. Every missing piece, in this puzzle that was his life, was finally coming into place. Nara's whole body was shaking. The last thing she had ever wanted was to hurt Jackson, and here she was hurting him in the worst possible way. She had finished telling Jackson who she was and what her purpose next to him had been all these years. He hadn't said anything in a while. He had stopped asking questions and was now deep in thought. Nara could see in his fisted hands, that it was taking all it could to control himself. Jackson finally broke the silence, "so all this time, I have been nothing more that a lab rat to you and your friends?" "Jackson, no" said Nara reaching for Jackson's hand, who immediately moved it away. Jackson's tears finally came streaming down his face. "All this time, you being nice to me, was only because you were ordered to. And I stupidly thought..." He said not finishing the sentence and turning away from Nara. "No, Jackson. You got it all wrong" Nara said trying to explain herself. Jackson got up and in a fit of rage punched a whole in the wall next to him. He closed his eyes and clenched his fists. He took a deep breath and realized that the anger inside of him wasn't subsiding. He could feel the heat on his face and realized what was happening. He was having an episode. He didn't remember the last time he had one. It had been so long. Nara got up startled when Jackson made a whole in the wall. She could see he was having a hard time. She instinctively, reached for the knife she had on her. She didn't meant to do it but her reflexes were ahead of her. Jackson turned to Nara and she could see his face was no longer the one she was used to. His eyes shined like bright embers and he started moving towards her in a menacing way. "Jackson?" Nara asked trying to get through to him. Jackson growled, walking slowly towards Nara. Nara held on tighter onto the knife but didn't backed her stance. Jackson growled right in front of Nara's face but she didn't quiver. Jackson leaned his face towards Nara's neck and growled louder. Nara could feel the heat of Jackson's breath in her skin. It was bringing goosebumps all over her body. Her heart was beating harder that ever before. She was terrified but she didn't move. Instead, she dropped the knife and reached for Jackson's face bringing it towards her. Their foreheads now touching. She was facing the monster inside of him. Staring right back at it. "I'm sorry," she whispered to him. Nara planted a tender kiss on Jackson's cheek, "My feelings for you were always real." She said releasing Jackson's face, closing her eyes and expecting the worst. She opened her eyes when she no longer felt the heat from Jackson's body in front of her. She felt a current of air coming through the window behind her and immediately turned to find Jackson staring back at her. He was crouched in the open window. His beautiful face back to normal. The anger was no longer there. Instead, she could see shame in his demeanor. He turned away from her and jumped from the window into the chilled, night air.
