In calm waters God still causes things to grow. Sometimes life feels too calm like you arent moving, like God isnot speaking, you arent going anywhere but just drifting in place, like waters that have no outlet to rush into and Spring into. But in calm waters God still causes things to grow. The roots underneath depend on the state of the water. The water lingers long enough in place to nurish the roots. This is being planted along living waters. The water may not rush but the waters are still moving, the gentle breeze, the fish below, the falling rain, it brings movement to these waters, that brings life to these roots, that moistures the leaves that bear fruit. Your waters are calm because in you God is growing something else, something under root and beneath the waters, He is maturing the things that need the calm to flourish.
