I didn't read as much as I wanted to in 2016, and vow to change this year.
I'm off to a good start - halfway through Goldfinch - and wanted to share some of my absolute favorites from the past few years to get you reading too.
I love a good suspense story, so here are 3 of the best, plus after reading, you can watch the film version too!
Girl On The Train
This commercial makes this seem much more violent, but the book is more of a psychological thriller. I hope they do the book justice when this comes out!
It is about a woman who rides the same train to work everyday and innocently watches one couple that is always out and about (their train is by the tracks) One day she sees something odd, says something, and ends up deep in a mystery she might regret getting involved in...
Available here in Paperback, Kindle, Hardcover, and Audio CD!
Never Let Me Go
This is such a beautiful book and film.
Set in England at a boarding school, the students are not what they seem. In the future, clones are raised to 'donate' their organs to when their other self needs them. In their school, the clones are allowed to be creative, they are treated like humans. But what happens when they fall in love? Can they escape their fate?
I could read this book a thousand times.
Following Paprika, a dream psychologist and detective, the future may be a dangerous place when we sleep. Someone is developing machinery that will control people's minds, and only Paprika has the power to find out who, and to stop them before it is too late.
