When you hear the words "hobo dinner," most people have great memories of camping. It's not the most glamorous meal you'll have all year, but it probably will be one of the tastiest. The best thing about the "hobo dinner" is how personal they are. Choose your meats, veggies, and sauces and combine to make your version of an awesome meal. Here's a basic recipe, but feel free to switch it up! While this does work great when you're away from home, it's also a quick and easy, well-balanced meal when you're short on time (and even money). Just throw this in the oven or on the grill for best results! Ingredients: 1 pound ground beef or ground turkey or chopped chicken breasts 4 potatoes, peeled and cubed 2 cups carrots, thinly sliced 1 onion, diced chopped bell peppers Salt and pepper, to taste Worcestershire sauce and/or hot sauce BBQ sauce ketchup mustard Shredded cheese (your favorite) Directions: Put all the ingredients you want on a large piece of aluminum foil. Add vegetables to your foil plate, making sure to break up the meat and evenly distribute everything. Sprinkle with salt and pepper, to taste. Pour a few dashes of Worcestershire sauce, BBQ sauce, or hot sauces on top of portion and fold foil up tightly around the entire meal. Cook on a grill on medium-high heat or an open fire for 25-30 minutes, or until vegetables and meat are cooked through. Open foil very carefully and top shredded cheese and any additional sauces.
