Suho gasped as he watched Chen's living room vanish, his heart pounding like a jackhammer when cold wind hit him in the face and then finding himself standing in the middle of another living room. This one had a dark decor. The black leather couch sitting across from a large tv. The plush carpet was a dark blue color, the walls painted to match. The curtains were drawn shut. He took a deep breath and looked around unsure if that was real. That he just traveled through space, from one place to another in the blink of an eye. “Did we…” he started to say. Nero confirmed it, “We teleported. It's been a long time since I'd done that.” He laughed and patted Kai on the back. “I remember once, your father was bringing someone to the courts, a thief I think it was. The man didn't want to face the charges so when your father teleported with him in hand, at some point he pulled away and just like that, he was lost.” Kai looked at him frightened a little at the thought, “Really? That can happen? Jumping from one spot to another is so quick, I can't imagine someone being lost in between.” “It's a strange thing to happen but it does. They say there's empty space somewhere in between. Teleporters open a sort of door in space and time, only briefly, but in that split second, someone can be lost.” Nero tapped his head, thinking, then shaking his head, “In that place, they tried to get your father to open that door and keep it open.” His old face sadden, “When they couldn't get us to do the things they wanted, they went after you children. Tao, that naughty boy had been playing with them and they didn't even know it.” He closed his eyes against the tears that were about to fall and turned his back. Kai feeling his sadness, put a hand on his shoulder. Nero cupped and patted Kai's caring hand. He looked back at him with reddened eyes and smiled. Suho sat down on the couch trying to catch his breath, “This is so strange, I still can't get it through my head. It's unreal. I keep thinking I'm going to wake up back in my room. The morning sun shining through the windows. Or that my mother is going to come wake me up any minute and tell me I'm late for school.” He started to hyperventilate. Kai went to him, “Its okay Suho, just take it in slowly. We're all trying to deal with this, you're not alone.” He rubbed his back, trying to calm him down, “Do you want some water?” Suho nodded. Nero approached him, Suho looked up at him, “Young Prince don't you know your own power?” “Don't call me that!“ Suho said abruptly, “Xiumin calls me that, but he says it like, like…” “Like he hates you?” Nero asked, “Well he shouldn't be upset about that anymore, his father lived. As a matter of fact, the reason your father ordered him to stay was because he knew General Fraust could win the war. He was a great general. It had nothing to do with his mother..." Kai came back with a glass of water. He knelt down close next to Suho. “I have to go back. Will you be okay with him here? I don't think we should let him out of our sight.” Kai said a low voice. Then he felt a hand on his shoulder. They both looked up at Nero. “I'll protect him. You don't have to worry.”
