I never needed you to fix me. I never needed mending, and I never needed someone to give me my dreams. I needed support. I needed an ear to bend. I needed a shoulder to cry on and a hand to hold as I worked out my problems myself. You cannot fix another person...the only person that has the tools to fix a problem is the person with the problem. I know you wanted to take away all my pain, all my troubles, but that is not how these things work. And I cannot fix how you see that, either, as much as I want to help you see that you were more to me than a shelter to run to. It was never about the nail.
