There is a Tree House Cafe in Japan and I NEED TO GO

I just saw this place on YouTube and I am so in love.

It's a bit far out from Tokyo (its near Yokohama) so I won't be able to go during my trip next week but OMG I WANT TO GOOOO!

It's called Nanjya Monjya Cafe and it is a legit tree house.

You can just hang out in the treehouse, drink coffee, and chill all day!

Plus LOOK AT THESE PANCAKES THEY HAVE.

If this isn't the cafe of my dreams I don't know what is <3

Here's the cafe's website!

Who wants to join me? AHHH!!!

A Blissful Place for Manga Lovers!
For the longest time I only have one reason for visiting Japan. Nope, it's not for food. Nope, it's not for fashion. Yes. It's for hot spring! I may look an average 20 something gal but I'm a grandma at heart. I've been told that many times because of my peculiar lifestyle. I love jacuzzi and hot spring is one of the thing I've always wanted to try after watching dramas that features this fabulous chamber. Even though I really wanted to visit Japan I didn't think hot spring would justify the trip because Taiwan also have hot spring. The ticket and accommodation in Taiwan is more budget-friendly than Japan. It was not until today I found another reason to go visit Japan. Books & Bed This concept is really intriguing. Though, I don't openly express it, I'm a manga girl at heart. Throw me in a room with a bunch of manga and I will be more than happy to read them. This is place is truly a gem for book lovers and someone who appreciates minimal architect. At Book and Bed Hostel you get a beautiful view of the city at night and get unlimited access to book in their library until your eyes become drowsy. The industrial interior design is filled with cement walls, wooden bookshelves and wooden single beds. Obviously, it's not a place for you to get a comfy pillow and cozy bed. If you are solo or duo traveler, this is the type of place that will bring you a blissful evening. What more do you want from a short vacation getaway than a place to sleep and get inspired? Anyone else feel the same way?
Eiichiro Oda and Hajime Isayama Show Support After Kumamoto Earthquakes
If you missed the news lately, the Kumamoto Prefecture in Kyushu, Japan was recently hit with a series of earthquakes, the foreshock on April 14th and the mainshock on April 16th. The earthquakes reached a magnitude of 7 on the Richter scale and have devastated the communities of the Prefecture and surrounding area, including as far away as the Ōita prefecture. 48 people have been confirmed dead, while thousands more have been hospitalized with injury. Over 40,000 people have been evacuated from their homes as a result of the quakes. The image you see above is a message penned by Eiichiro Oda, the mangaka responsible for One Piece. Kumamoto is Oda's hometown and so he felt personally attached to plights of the people there. The official One Piece twitter tweeted that image of a hand-drawn Luffy and Kumamon, the official mascot of the prefecture. Here's what it says in English: There was a big earthquake in Kumamoto. (all of Kyushu) I was born in Kumamoto, it's my hometown. To those who were greatly affected by the damage, I hope you're doing well from the bottom of my heart. I was able to directly contact my family and friends, but they're all very scared. But they're doing their best. Everyone I got in touch with said things to put me at ease. They're so tough!! But there is a limit to how long people can steel themselves. Before that thread breaks, I want to calm them down somehow. It's crucial that adults don't worry their kids. Most of all, I want to make kids laugh! If they laugh, adults can do their best! It's still hard now for ordinary people to lend a hand, but I will definitely help with the relief effort. Stay strong, however you can!! Oda was not the only member of the One Piece team to speak up in support of the earthquake victims, however. The voice actors for the Straw Hat Pirates also lent their voices to support Kyushu. Ikue Ohtani (Chopper), Kazuya Nakai (Zoro), Akemi Okamura (Nami), Yuriko Yamaguchi (Robin), Kazuki Yao (Franky), Kappei Yamaguchi (Usopp), and Mayumi Tanaka (Luffy) each have promised to do their bests to help the victims in some way or at least encourage them to stay strong and happy. Each of them signed the board above as a gesture of support for the struggling civilians. The Strawhats weren't the only anime/manga stars to lend their voices to the effort, though. Hajime Isayama, the mangaka for Attack on Titan is also from close to the affected region: Hita in Ōita Prefecture. Isayama also contributed a drawing as support for the victims. It shows Eren, Mikasa and Armin with Kumamon and Mejiron, Ōita Prefecture's bird mascot. Isayama wrote on his blog accompanying the image: "When times have been tough for me, even under very harsh circumstances, I'm reminded of manga heroes who fight for their lives, and I remember that they toughed it out. I drew the illustration with those feelings." Though these artists can't do a whole lot in terms of helping on the ground level with the victims, they have chosen to lend their support in the best ways they have available to them; their art. It shows a passion for their homes and their people, and the will of the nation that rallies strongly around their own in times of crisis.
[Travel Diary] Three Days in Tokyo 2017
My mom and I just got back from a week in Japan, where we spend 2.5 days in Tokyo, and 4 days in Kyoto! I already shared my videos of the sakura in Kyoto, but wanted to share my Tokyo videos and photos too! Here's what my trip looked like~ First 2 Days: We arrived late night at Narita Airport, and took the train into Tokyo. We were staying in Shinjuku, so after we got to the AirBnb and dropped off our stuff, we headed out to the Golden Gai to look around and find food. The Golden Gai is a collection of really tiny bars and eateries that usually only have 5-6 seats. Its fun to just wander the alleys and see what you can find :) The next morning we headed straight to Harajuku to visit the Meiji Shrine. It was early in the morning and it was sooo peaceful - definitely check out my video, its gorgeous! After that we grabbed breakfast in Harajuku and just wandered the shopping streets. I hit up my favorite used clothing store and found some cute things^^ After that, I was lucky enough to visit YouTube Space Tokyo! It had an amazing view of the city and is a studio where lots of YouTubers can come to make videos and use YouTube's really expensive equipment haha! The next day we went to the Imperial Palace to see the cherry blossoms but there weren't that many out yet, then headed to a Peter Rabbit themed cafe that was ADORABLE. The next day we went to Kyoto, and you can check out all that footage HERE! Last day: After 4 days in Kyoto we came back for about 24 hours in Tokyo before our flights home :( We dropped off our bags and headed to Shibuya Crossing because it wouldn't be a trip to Tokyo without it! We sat in the Starbucks overlooking the crosswalk and just people watched for hours. The next morning I had time to grab coffee at a cafe I've really wanted to go to, and then we headed to the airport. It was a really chill time in Tokyo but was a lot of fun! Thanks for joining me on my trip^^
