My Highlight story.

Credit to the amazing person who made this šŸ’–šŸ’– Anyway! Today I'm letting you guys know about how I got into Hightlight|Beast. This was supposed to be posted earlier (last week) but I don't know why I didn't.. So it all started when I was into J.Reyez and other underground rappers on YouTube. Anyway, him and Tommy C made an English cover of Taeyangs wedding dress, they also gave credit and told people to check out the original. I was really into the song so I looked it up and that's how I got into kpop. After that I was just on Taeyangs pandora most of the time and a group named Beast came up, the song was nice and I really liked it, every time I went on pandora I always forgot who they were but when they came up it was the highlight of my day.. XD the song that I heard and fell in love with was Oasis. Kikwangs and Hyunseungs voices are the reasons I fell for them..
I didn't totally know who they were but I always looked forward to their music. Then my sister showed me Big Bang, and YouTube suggested 'Beautiful.'
This was the first music video I saw from them and I hated the girl for leaving Junhyung cause he broke his arm! Like WTF!? I was mad, but I also hated Kikwang cause she went to him.. the video pissed me off but I still really loved the song. Then it took me maybe more than a week to find 'I like you the best' but that's only cause I didn't know it was right there xP I mean, can you blame me? I was new and knew nothing.
After that, and till this day, I don't like the girl... hahaha but I did become a fan, so I'm okay. Anyway, after that I just dug deeper and deeper and then started watching their dramas, solos and 'Shadow' is the first comeback I was with them and Big Bang totally fell back.. I don't know how it happened but it did..
I'm in too deep now so when Hyunseung left I was really sad and devastated. My sister says I cried but I won't acknowledge it, nope.. after that, I still stayed with them because I love them! And then when they decided to leave Cube, I was all for it. But it did kinda scare me cause 'what's gonna happen?' 'Are they gonna be okay?' Things like that went through my head, but I trusted them and stayed nonetheless. And things started looking up when they announced AroundUS entertainment. But again, we were worried about the name 'Beast' and I love the name and wanted them to keep it, but Cubes a b$;)# and didn't let them. I love them for them and not the name so when they said that their new name was 'Highlight' I wasn't so thrilled. But either way, regardless of their name, I'm staying cause they make me happy. Now as 'Highlight' they have a new beginning and I'm more in love now then I was then. The music is great as always, so I'm hoping you guys enjoy as well!! ā€¢it's still beautiful

Idols With A Cause
Hello Vingle Fam- In July of 2013, BEAST appeared on an episode of Happy Together and something rather amazing happened. I'm not talking about the members showing off their abs (though that was nice), I'm talking about this: The group's main vocalist, Yang Yoseob wore this purple bracelet, a gift from one of his fans, during the show's filming. After the broadcast, the website that sells these silicone bracelets actually crashed due the sudden influx in orders. So what's the big deal about these little bracelets? They are called Blooming Bracelets and they bring awareness to the plight of Comfort Women. "Comfort women were women and girls forced into prostitution to serve Japanese soldiers during World War II. Young women were abducted from their homes, or lured with promises of work in factories or restaurants. Once recruited, the women were incarcerated in ā€œcomfort stationsā€ in foreign lands, deprived of their basic rights. Treated as little more than animals, they were forced to face several dozen men a day." All proceeds from the sale of the bracelets "go directly to the ā€œDaegu Citizen Forum for Halmuniā€ to improve the well-being of comfort women." Of the documented Comfort Women, only 56 are still alive today, their average age is 90 years old. Weekly protests have been held in support of the Comfort Women outside of the Japanese embassy in Seoul for the past 21 years, despite which the Japanese Government has yet to issue a formal apology. Yoseob, who has been seen wearing the bracelet on many occasions since the broadcast, has been called "gaenyeomdol (an idol with social consciousness)" for using his celebrity status to bring awareness to this worthy cause. In addition, the chairperson of the Committee for the Prevention of Historical Distortion in Northeast Asia personally thanked the vocalist. His public support of woman's causes has not only labeled the singer as an idol who cares, but it has sparked a trend of social consciousness within the idol industry. In the years since Yoseob's appearance on Happy Family, many idols have also come out in support of the Comfort Woman's cause by wearing Blooming Bracelets. VIXX's Leo and BTOB's Minhyuk. SHINee's Taemin, Onew and Jonghyun. GOT7's JB and Jinyoung. Even rookie Taeyong of NCT fame has been spotted wearing the bracelets. The Blooming Project was started by a group of students at Korea University who wished to bring about awareness to the often overlooked issue of Comfort Woman. They established a brand called Heeum and created a website. They were inspired by the Livestrong bracelets sported by Lance Armstrong and set about creating an inexpensive bracelet that could help raise money for the cause. Since Yoseob and other idols started sporting the bracelets, the company has been able to expand to include Blooming bags and other goods and even hold events to educate the public on the issue. As multiple members of the project have noted, despite the plight of Comfort Women being an integral part of South Korea's history, many high school students and even adults were not aware of the issue prior to the public's knowledge of the Blooming Project. The bracelets sell for 2000 won ($1.68 USD) and can be purchased through the group's website, HERE. Yoseob Responds To Hyunseung's Apology?
Three days ago Hyunseung from Beast posted a very long apology about his behavior towards the end of his time as a member of Beast: ā€œDuring the past seven years, as part of BEAST before I left the group, I received a lot of love,ā€ he wrote. ā€œSince I was young, I thought that the people who sing and dance on TV were really cool, so I embraced my big dream and trained for five years. Through a good opportunity, I was able to debut as BEAST with my members. After debuting, it seemed like Iā€™d realized my dream, but while promoting there were things I was uncomfortable with and a thirst for music that couldnā€™t be resolved. Rather than focusing on group promotions and building teamwork, I was stubborn about my own affairs. Even when IĀ listened to what other people had to say,Ā Iā€™d immediately focus again on my own stubbornness and pride, so I made it hard for my members and the other people around me. The wall between me and the members built up slowly and instead of choosing harmony, I chose to grow distant.I slowly lost the ability to control myself and showed bad attitude in public, including on stage. I thought that immature image of myself was me enjoying my youth. I thought all thatĀ was me being cool. Now that I look back on it, I am deeply regretful. It was difficult for me to sayĀ that I was sorry because of my stubbornness and needless pride. But after leaving the group, I experienced a lot of things and went through a hard time. After laying down my pride, I could finally hit the floor that I was stubbornly holding out from, and from that floor I came to a realization and became free. I have only given scars to other people. He posted a photo on Instagram along with this apology, and his photo is on the right. Yeoseob, his former group member, posted the photo on the left yesterday with no caption. It was deleted soon after it was posted. Notice how its the same location, just different times? Some people are saying its a coincidence and Yoseob was just catching the awesome looking cloud, but personally the fact that its SO similar (and the Han river is really big so the chances of him taking it at almost the exact same spot is pretty rare considering how long with bridge is) makes me think its intentional. Yoseob was the one who actually introduced Hyunseung to Cube so they have a very special connection (other than being group mates for so long and being friends regardless of career dream differences) So to me, I see this as an acceptance of Hyunseung's apology, and I hope the boys all feel a little more at peace.

~The Cutest Fanboy Encounter~
Hello Lights, B2UTYS and ALICE! For those of you who are unaware, the members of rookie group VICTION are HUGE fans of BEAST/Highlight. They cite the group as the reason they became singers and the group they are most collectively influenced by. Since debut, VICTION has talked about their love of BEAST/Highlight. They have performed BEAST dance covers during fan engagments, been caught singing BEAST and Highlight songs during V live broadcasts, and it is widely known amoung their fans how much they really look up to Doojoon, Hyunseung, Junhyung, Yoseob, Kikwang and Dongwoon. Their fans (known as ALICE) even give the members BEAST-related gifts (especially Heochan as he is the BIGGEST BEAST fanboy of the group). Last November, Doojoon posted in support of VICTION's debut on his personal Instagram. This reportedly was a moment beyond belief for the as-yet-to-debut members of VICTION. Flash forward to March 25th, 2017. VICTION was at the Show Music Core studios in the midst of their comeback promotions for "Eyez Eyez" on the same day that Highlight was performing their Show Music Core Debut Stage for "Plz Don't Be Sad". Shortly before VICTION took the stage, they had the opportunity to meet their idols and the VICTION staff had the piece of mind to film it for a live V app broadcast. What you are about to watch is so incredibly adorable. Can you believe they were more nervous to meet Highlight than they were to debut? Their hearts were racing, their legs weak and they argued over who would be the one in front. As I watched the lead up to their meeting with Highlight, I was nervous for them. You can see the maknae, Subin (baby faced kido with spikey hair) repeatedly hiding behind his members as they waited in the hallway. Seungwoo, their leader (Blonde in the black jacket and red/black plaid) was more than happy to bow out of the leader role for this meeting as the members ALL insisted Heochan (the one holding the Viction album) should be in the front, stating "Today, the spot is specially for you". Of course, our Highlight boys were so the wonderful, sweet and supportive guys us Lights and B2UTYS know them to be. Dongwoon performed magic tricks, Doojoon presented VICTION with a copy of their "Can You Feel It" album and Highlight even agreed to play a soccer game with VICTION should the opportunity present itself. Following this meeting, VICTION was asked about the interaction with their idols during an interview. Here's what they had to say: I seriously... like, my haertu guys! Can you imagine what it must have been like for the VICTION members waiting in that hallway? In April, Dongwoon posted a video message in support of VICTION to Twitter. Dongwoon was asked to name the "Junior group he is most looking forward to?" Dongwoon replied "VICTION" then stated: ā€œIā€™m most interested these days in APinkā€™s brother group, VICTON. We heard that they are fond of our group, so weā€™ve grown interested as well. I will cheer on their new album a lot. Please show lots of support for VICTON!ā€ Does this just make your heart melt? I'm so glad that VICTION got to meet their idols and proud of how wonderful our Highlight members are. I hope that these two groups get the opportunity for more interaction in the future.
