COVER UP: SM Hiding Scandals
The mark of a fabulous PR team is their ability to bounce back after any scandal, any misstep, any thing that throws their artist or company into a bad light. And damn, does SM have a pesky PR team. Sure they're great at responding quickly to a situation, but its usually sort of obvious that they're trying to distract the fans, or its just not done well. Or hey, maybe they just have really crappy timing and all of these are coincidences, but I'm pretty sure there is something fishy going on here... Do you think these are distractions to cover up SM's messes, or just poorly timed news? 1. Red Velvet's Debut and Comebacks Red Velvet is one of my favorite new girl groups, but there is something...odd...about the timing of their debut and the rate of their comebacks. Red Velvet's sort of sudden debut - Happiness - came right in the midst of Kris' first real departure (he had been M.I.A. for a while, but his official departure was when the media really caught on) The whole process seemed rushed, with a short time for teasers and a promo cycle/concept that didn't seem all there. SM is famous for their teasers and debut build up and this was sort of just dropped on the fans from no where. Happiness barely even felt like a real debut track. Then they quickly came back with another promotion during the Jessica scandals - this time with a cover song that felt out of place in the typical SM style. Overall just a 'meh' feeling. Were these girls forced to debut prematurely to cover up the two artists leaving the company or was this just horrible timing? 2. Taeyeon and Baekhyun Dating With EXO members dropping like flies, all of a sudden it comes out that Baekhyun and Taeyeon are dating. This is HUGE news. All of the buzz from this announcement washes away any talk of Kris, Jessica, or Luhan... And you know what's weird? No one is really talking about it. They've now been together officially (the news broke in June 2014) for more than a year! How are they keeping the relationship out of the tabloids when in reality paparazzi follow them like stalkers? If SM could pay the paparazzi to stay out of their business, why was this story leaked right when SM needed a distraction? Again, this is all conspiracy theory but, its a little odd right? 3. Sungmin Marriage and Military Fans were pissed about Sungmin's sudden marriage, and SM knew that was going to happen (they had to!) so what better way to quell the anger then to send Sungmin off to the military to let things cool down? This was probably the most brilliant thing that the PR team for SM has done recently. It allowed the fans to chill out and the'll probably be over themselves and ready to welcome Sungmin back right about the time when he should be getting out of the military :) What do you think? Are these cover ups or just conspiracy theories? Have any other companies done this?

Let's Talk Comebacks
Hello Fam- It's comeback season... well, 2016 has pretty much been one long, extended comeback season filled with feels, tears, cheers, abs, hair color changes and drained bank accounts. @Helixx here to talk to you about what the fall comeback season has in store for us. CEO: @amobts Media Monsters Team: @MadAndrea @EllieNim @KokoroNoTakara @Helixx Monster Bloggers: @PrettieeEmm -None of the images or videos belong to Media Monsters! Credit to the original owners!- Writer @Helixx, Kpop Lead Monster Kpop has been on fire this year, hasn't it? With the hot debuts of multiple NCT sub-units, Astro, BLACKPINK, Gugudan, I.O.I, KNK and Vromance (just to name a few), and the insane comeback schedule of big artists like VIXX, EXO, BTOB, Madtown, History, Taeyeon, Lee Hi, Twice, BTS, Amber and MANY more, Kpop fans have had much to look forward to in 2016. On top of new Korean releases, we saw CL attempt to crossover into the U.S. market with the release of her English track "Lifted". All of this is fine and dandy, but it seems like the big releases have all grouped together over short spans of time. Is this a calculated attack on our bank accounts? Is it designed to target our feels in the most destructive manner possible? Or, is it simply a coincidence? I can tell you I have barely survived 2016 thus far. If you're like me then you're feels have also come under heavy fire. Sadly, it doesn't look like it's going to get any better as September and October seem to be loaded up for max kills. Let's recap what the September winds have blown our way thus far: Red Velvet - Russian Roulette 2016.09.07 Red Velvet came back with this catchy synth-pop tune about the frivolous nature of relationships. The music video features scenes of the members attempting to off each other mixed with retro graphics and matching 80's styling. THE MOBB SERIES YG decided to completely annihilate the feels of every Bobby and Mino stan by releasing their solo debuts just a day apart. And if that wasn't enough, Papa YG thought it best to release their Sub-Unit only a day later. Isn't YG so kind? BOBBY - HOLUP 2016.09.07 With his debut track Bobby boasts about his rap prowess with the line "I’m the Jackie Chan of rap" and talks about how dope a party in his palace might be. The video showcases a Bobby-induced house party as well as the aftermath spliced with weirdly placed special effects. ***WARNING*** Bobby is without a shirt in half the video. MINO - BODY 2016.09.08 On Body, Mino laments the end of a relationship through the memories of intimate moments with his ex. The song starts off with the lines "I miss your body, Your ticklish breath. I remember vaguely. I can’t feel you. I miss your body, Your flowing hair. I remember vaguely. So where are you?" The music video expertly recreates "flashbacks" mixed with scenes of self-destruction. There is a particularly steamy pool scene and moments where Mino is reminiscent of G-Dragon in the Loser era. ***WARNING*** I have two words for you. Mino's backside. MOBB (feat. KUSH) - HIT ME 2016.09.09 On this fun track Bobby and Mino just want to have a good time. They're calling everyone, young and old to come out and party it up. "Come on two feet, leave on all fours" is an actual line referencing just how messed up they intend to get. The MV is the story of two guys going out for a night of dancing and shenanigans and ends with the boys getting hunted down by the police... just your average Monday night is all. BONUS: Listen for the GDxTOP reference. MOBB - FULL HOUSE 2016.09.09 For the final release from the Ikon and Winner Rapper duo, the boys again just want to have a good time and possibly get a little freaky. Lines from the song include "Come down on a pole like the devil" and "you can drink like an elephant". The MV has a more refined feel to it than Hit Me and features scantily clad ladies, a couch in the sand and the boys throwing dollar bills. Mino pays homage to GD once more with a quintessential dance move and the Queen of Kpop, CL, makes a cameo. 2PM - Promise (I'll be) 2016.09.13 The long awaited comeback of JYP boy group 2PM gave us an up tempo synthesized song about a man ready to commit to the woman he loves. The music video showed us the rooftops of european cathedrals, an adorable romp in the bedroom and the smoldering good looks of the group's members. INFINITE - The Eye 2016.09.19 This melodic dance track pairs a heavy beat with the beauty of stringed instruments and an intense breakdown. The song itself is about finding the strength to let go of a relationship that did more harm to you than good. The MV has a very cinematic feel to it, with a story line that leaves us with more questions than answers and makes us wonder how long Woollim Entertainment will make us wait to find out what happens next. BTOB- BLUE - Stand By Me 2016.09.19 BTOB's first sub-unit debuted with a soulful ballad about being able to watch the one you love move on to find love with another. The vocal line asks "Please stand by me just a little bit more, until I can smile at you when I see you" The vocal abilities we are accustomed to hearing from this quartet shine bright while the simplistic nature of the MV allows us to truly appreciate the gifts these boys offer the listener. MAMAMOO - NEW YORK 2016.09.21 In this funky new track, the girls dream of a night on the town in none other than New York City. Hwasa's sultry vocals shine, adding a jazzy vibe to this upbeat tune. The MV follows their unique NYC journey as they paint the town and make adorable Instagram moments. Those were some amazing offerings so far, don't you think? Which was your favorite? But now it's time to see what we have in store... Brace yourselves. GOT7 - TURBULENCE 2016.09.27 In just seven days the boys of GOT7 are back to give us... Answers? More questions? Kill our feels? We'll find out in a week's time who is dead and who is still alive. Gosh darn it, these cliff hangers are brutal!! MONSTA X - THE CLAN 2.5 PART 2. GUILTY 2016.10.04 MX will release Part 2 of their CLAN series in just 14 short days. As with the All In MV, can we expect a continuation of the storyline? Will Wonho show his abs again? Is Hyungwon dead? Will our feels survive this comeback? BTS - WINGS (October 2016) Unless you've been living under a rock, you've probably heard about BTS's October comeback which will take the form of a FULL ALBUM. During the month of September BigHit trolled ARMYs by releasing a series of short films... if you haven't watched them, I warn you to do so at your own risk. Fan theories are running wild and can be seen in every corner of the internet. Again, will BTS finally answer our questions, or leave us hanging on for another comeback? That's not all though. The list of comebacks coming our way include: SEPTEMBER: Apink 9/26 Crayon Pop 9/26 Dal Shabet TBA T-ARA TBA Ailee TBA BIGSTAR TBA HELLOVENUS TBA KNK TBA B1A4 TBA OCTOBER: GIRLS GIRLS 10/11 Lay (EXO- Solo debut) TBA Rainbow TBA SHINHAW TBA Twice TBA BLACKPINK TBA Jeon Ji-yoon TBA NCT (sub-unit debut) TBA 24K TBA I.O.I TBA SE7EN TBA GIRL'S DAY TBA Sonamoo TBA 100% TBA MAMAMOO TBA Ladies' Code TBA B.A.P TBA SHINee TBA Sechs Kies TBA That is a pretty long list of artists who plan to release new music over the next 41 days. Are you ready? Which comeback or debut are you most excited about? *Sources: The Dreamcatcher Initiative, Wikipedia, JYP Entertainment, SM Entertainment, STARSHIP Entertainment. ⬆︎That's Me⬆︎ MEDIA MONSTERS TAGLIST @deeeDUH @EliseB @EmilyGardner @FalseLove @Mightymuffin @mycreativename @jungkooknovieka @nimm14 @simpsonsamantha Comment Below if you want to be tagged to our tag list to stayed up to date! Rocket Punch Girl Group
Rocket Punch, or RCPC for short, is a remarkable 6-member K-pop girl group signed to the legendary Woollim Entertainment. The group, made up of Juri, Yeonhee, Suyun, Yunkyoung, Sohee, and Dahyun, debuted on August 7, 2019, introducing the world to their addictive title tune, "BIM BAM BUM." Statistics about Rocket Punch are fascinating. Japan reaches new heights On August 4, 2021, Rocket Punch embarked on an extraordinary journey around Japan, dazzling audiences with their thrilling shows. 48 Emerging Producers Juri, Suyun, and Sohee are Rocket Punch members who rose to prominence as contestants on the acclaimed reality show Produce 48. An intriguing concept Rocket Punch's energetic performances captivate fans because their concept combines girl crush appeal and youthful vitality. Breaking Down Walls Versatility Rocket Punch challenges traditional roles within their group, aiming to be well-rounded artists without defined positions such as "main vocalist" or "main dancer." Under Yeonhee's supervision, the members of the ensemble display skill-balanced harmony. Distributors with a Stronghold Kakao Entertainment and Yoshimoto Songs Co. Ltd. disseminate the group's songs, ensuring its mesmerizing sound reverberates worldwide. A Vibrant Outburst with Rocket Punch The moniker Rocket Punch embodies the group's goal of introducing bright colors and changing everyday activities in a monotonous setting. A Celestial Miscommunication Although there haven't been many problems with Rocket Punch, Juri was chastised for using the name of an ancient band called INFINITE on an episode of JTBC's "Idol Room." Some individuals found this statement disrespectful, especially because INFINITE's Nam WooHyun was present. Victories and accomplishments Rocket Punch has garnered numerous honors for its exceptional talent and dedication. They gratefully accepted the "Female K-pop Singer Award" at the Korea Culture and Entertainment Awards in both 2020 and 2022. They also won the coveted "Group Singer Award (Female Division)" at the 28th Korea Entertainment Arts Awards.
