Part 6/?
Word Count: 2014

You duck behind a car and see two men dressed in black suits run past you. Your heart is pumping out of your chest, and you look down at your phone. The battery is at two percent. You have to call someone, but you need to get somewhere safe first before you let your guard down and before your phone dies. You hear someone coming from behind you and you start running again without even looking at who it was. You can’t trust anyone or anything right now. You have at least 15 men running after you and you’re afraid if you’re caught again you won’t make it out alive. You thought that they would have given up sooner, but you feel like you’ve been running around for hours. You duck behind the side of the building and look down at your feet. Since you were running barefoot on the streets your feet were all cut up from broken glass you’ve been stepping on. You look down the alleyway and see darkness and a dumpster lit up by a single streetlight. You don’t know what lies on the other side, but you take the chance to go down it to avoid the main street where everyone else was searching for you. You slowly walk down the alley and suddenly collapse near the dumpster from being so exhausted. You know you’re dehydrated and starving, but you need to keep going. You’re having trouble getting back up but manage to crawl your way to the other side of the dumpster to avoid being seen by anyone who looked down the alley. You pull out your phone and see that you have 10 missed calls and 12 text messages from Elaine. You open one,

Elaine: Y/N, where are you?! I’m freaking out because you haven’t been answering any of my calls or messages. It’s been three days since the event, and you haven’t been home. Please, please call me when you get this!

Your battery is now at one percent and you know you only have enough battery for one call so you dial Elaine’s number. She picks up after the second ring.

“Y/N?! Y/N, where are you?! Where have you been for the past three days?!”

Your throat is so dry, but you manage to get out, “Elaine...I...someone kid-kiddnapped me. They kept me in a building and I escaped. But now they’re after me Elaine. I just don’t know what to do...or even where I am right now.”

“What?! Y/N...hold on, what are you saying? You have to call the police! Are you still in the same city? Do you remember where they took you?”

“Elaine, my phone’s battery is about to die...I need help. I don’t have any money or know where I am. Please...help me.” you say in between sobs.

“I will find you Y/N, just get somewhere safe and contact me again. I will try to have the police track your phone. We will get you out of there, I promise.”

“Okay...I will call you when I get-”

You hear footsteps approaching and you freeze.

“Y/N? Y/N?! Are you still there? Are you okay?” you hear the panic in Elaine’s voice from the silence on your end.

“Sir, I think I hear someone. I think she’s close.” you hear someone say.

You sit as still as you can and clench your phone to your chest. You know if he comes any closer he will see you. Without giving it a second thought you get up and start running again. You hear him scream at you from behind.

“Hey! Stop right there! There isn’t any point of running now, I will get you!”

You don’t look back. You need to get out of there as fast as you can. You ignore how much your feet are hurting, and how your chest feels like it’s about to explode. Your head feels like it’s spinning, but you just keep running. You hear another man screaming after you and you sprint with all your might.

You run across the street and as you look back to see how close they are to you you feel yourself being slammed into glass and being thrown up in the air. Your mind goes blank as you feel yourself falling back to the ground. You open your eyes and see a bright light in front of you. Your entire body feels numb. You can’t move. This is the end, this was it, were your last thoughts to yourself. There was so much in life that you regretted and wish you could do over again. The strangest part of this all was this was the most peaceful you’ve felt in a long time. All of your worries seemed to disappear. A single tear falls from your eyes and you feel yourself falling into a deep sleep. You know you need to fight it, but you can’t help it. You’re so tired. You finally give into the darkness that was pulling you in.

“Mom, dad….I’m sorry I was not the perfect daughter. I’m sorry for not being around you more, for not thanking you enough for always being there for me. Now that...you’re both gone, everyday I seem to come up with more things that I could have done better as a daughter. It makes me hate myself. I wish I could have told you how much you really meant to me. How much I love you. How much I wish it was me that left this world and not you…” you stop and clench the flowers you were holding close to your chest. You still couldn’t believe that they were gone. You feel warm arms wrap around you. You turn around and see Jimin looking at you with tears filled in his eyes.

“Y/N, it hurts me so much seeing you like this. If I could take away your pain I would do it in a heartbeat.”

“I know...but thank you for being here for me. I love you so much and I don’t know what I would do without you.”

“You know I would never leave you, not now, not ever.”

You look around and all you see is an endless sea of peonies. The flowers that you always brought your parents when you visited them after they passed away. Where are you? You feel the warm air being blown through your hair and the sun is beaming on your skin. You felt so at peace, it was almost like all your worries and anxiety just slipped away with the wind. At the other end of the field you see...your parents. How was it possible that they were here right now? Were you just dreaming? But everything felt so real.

“Mom! Dad!” you cry running to the other side.

They wave at you with big smiles on their faces. You run up to them and grab them both in your arms and pull them close.

“Mom...dad...I missed you so much.” you say still holding them close.

“Hi honey...oh we missed you so much too. Your dad and I don’t go a day without thinking about you...about how much you have suffered. We are so sorry..” your mom says grabbing your hand and squeezing it.

You dad looks at you with tears in his eyes and pats your head, “My little girl, how much you have grown up. We’ve missed you so much..”

“Wher-where am I? What happened to me?”

“Honey, look around. All of these flowers are here because of you. We live here in this beautiful place because of all of the flowers you have left us.” your mom says while wiping tears from her eyes.

“What? How is this possible? How am I even seeing you right now?” you ask still confused about the situation.

“You’ve been in a terrible accident. As much as we want to keep you here with us you need to go back. This isn’t your time. You still have so much to live for. You have to fight, you have to wake up baby.” your dad explains.

“No...there isn’t anything for me back there. I want to be here with you. Please don’t make me go back...all there is back there is pain, worry, sadness. It isn’t a life worth living.”

“I know you feel that way now, but you are strong. You can fight through all of this. Someone back there needs you. They need you and they don’t even know it. You need to be their strength.”

“Who? Who needs my help?”

“We can’t say...but please trust us.” your mom pleads.

“Will...will I ever see you again?” you ask quietly.

“Yes, we will be here waiting for you, I promise. But only when it’s your time.”

“I don’t want to leave you…” you say pulling them both in again.

Your dad pulls away from you, points to your heart and says, “We’re always going to be right here.”

You lay your hand on your chest and feel a rush of love wash over you. You knew they were there all along, but you just needed to see them again to figure that out.

“Okay...I’ll go back, just promise me you will be right here when I come back.”

“Yes baby, right here. We will meet again.”

Tears are falling from your eyes and they start to disappear.

“Mom! Dad! I will be back! Please wait for me!” you scream out.

The last thing you see are them waving and smiling at you before they vanish in the wind. You stand there not knowing what to do or where to go. Your thoughts are interrupted when you hear someone call out your name from behind you.

“Y/N.”

You turn around and see...Jimin.

“What...what are you doing here Jimin?” you ask in shock. This has to be a dream, he wouldn’t be here otherwise.

“To take you back of course. Let’s go.”

He holds out his hand and you are hesitant to grab it.

“Come on Y/N, let’s go home.”

You look into his eyes and it’s the Jimin you remember. His eyes, his smile, how warm he was. It was everything about Jimin that you loved. You finally reach for his hand and he pulls you towards the light.

“One, two, three, shock!” The doctor uses the defibrillator on you in hopes to revive you.

“Doctor, she’s still unresponsive! We need to increase the voltage!”

“Quick, up the voltage and get ready to shock her again!”

Everyone steps away from you and the doctor rubs the pads together.

“One, two, three, shock!”

A second doctor is pumping your chest with his hands and stops to check for your heartbeat.

“Sir, there is a weak heartbeat, but it seems like it has regulated. We need to give her oxygen because it seems like she is having a hard time breathing.”

“Nurse, please get an oxygen mask, and have her transferred to the operation room as quickly as you can, we need to find the source of bleeding and stop it before it’s too late!”

The entire medical team rushes to the operation room to get ready for your surgery. They roll you to get an xray to determine where they would have to operate on.

“She has internal bleeding in this area of her brain and there is severe hemorrhaging in this area. This can be fatal. We need to get in there right now. Is everything ready?” the doctor asks with a serious look on his face.

“This is going to be a long surgery sir, you just got out of a five hour one, do you think you can do it? I can find someone else to come in for you instead.”

The doctor takes off his glasses and rubs his eyes and is silent for a second.

“Sir?”

“No...I’ll do it. We will save this girl, we have to.”
