This week is a well not really one shot because I plan on continuing it. Inspired by One Shot. I have posted this a while ago in my fanfic collection

I stared at the ceiling replaying the scene in my head. The USB that was thrown at Jongup after he had been injured had the horrific scene I never wanted to see, Youngjae being beaten then his kidnappers demanding we give them money.
“So what do we do, boss?” I faintly heard Zelo ask. Moving my gaze to the boy, I noticed everyone else was staring at me. I sighed and leaned forward, my elbows on my knees.
“What else can we do? We get the money and get Youngjae back.” I said, looking into each man’s eyes. Yongguk and Himchan shared a look, Daehyun looked down at his hands, Jong Up held his head with a grimace on his face, and Zelo looked surprised.
“How?” Yongguk’s deep voice asked.
“We’ll have to steal it. Yongguk and Zelo, I need you to go take photographs of potential places we can ambush the trucks from the bank. Daehyun and Jong Up, take the money out of the safe and get more weapons. Himchan, fix up the trucks.”
“All the money in the safe? Isn’t that the last of it?” Daehyun asked, his voice an octave higher in surprise.
“I have a feeling that we won’t need it anymore. After we get Youngjae back, I’m disbanding everyone. I can’t risk your guys’ lives anymore.” I said, meeting their eyes again. “It doesn’t matter if something happens to me, but you guys have families. Hell, Zelo and Jong Up are still kids. I can’t expect you guys to be safe in this kind of work anymore.” I said, looking away from them. “I’m sorry I ever pulled you into this.”
“Noona, what happened to hyung isn’t your fault.” Zelo said, quickly. I looked up to his and Jong Up’s faces.
“It is. Jong Up got hurt because of me and Youngjae got kidnapped. I don’t want to see anything happen to the rest of you. This is my final decision.” I said, standing up and leaving the room. A couple years ago I had recruited these six men for my gang because of their separate skills. Yongguk was their leader, so he was technically my second in command. Himchan was the mechanic, he could fix any vehicle. Daehyun was in charge of weaponry. Youngjae was the computer genius, he could hack into anything. Jong Up and Zelo were in charge of luring our targets and kidnapping them. I sincerely regret getting those two involved the most. They were still in school and I dragged them into this lifestyle.
Honestly, it was time that it ended anyway. I have police down my back, hunting for me. Guess you could say, I was a wanted criminal. It’s not easy to get away with murder and kidnapping, even if it were for the greater good. As far as the police are concerned, I was the only one in this operation as they got the rest of my gang a while back. I’m ashamed to say this gang war started out of pettiness between our two groups. Mine and the ones who took Youngjae. I don’t remember the exact reason, but I do know that it wasn’t worth these past five years of terror.
Sighing, I slumped down in my chair in my office and laid my face on my desk. I have got to be the worst person out there. Risking people’s lives to get my revenge on some asshole who makes his men do all the work while he hides in the background. There were quiet knocks on the doorframe before someone stepped in and stood in front of my desk. I looked up to see Daehyun standing there.
“What is it?” I quietly asked him, noticing the look on his face.
“What does this mean for us?” He asked simply, standing stiffly. We’ve been together for the past two years, him somehow accepting my reputation and setting it aside. I can honestly say I love him.
“You’ll go back to your life before and be happy.” I said, leaning back in my chair.
“No. What about US?” He asked again, walking around the desk and kneeling in front of me.
“You can’t be with someone who’s wanted by every police officer in the entire region. They don’t know you have anything to do with me, which is for the better.”
“Jagiya, no. I don’t want to leave you. I love you too much.” He said, kissing me softly.
“I love you too, but I think it’s for the better. Look, we’ll stay together until we get Youngjae back and I send you all back home. Deal?” I asked him, softly pushing his hair out of his face. He didn’t seem pleased, it also seemed like this wasn’t going to be the last we would talk about this. I sighed and softly planted a kiss on his forehead before turning my attention to my desk. “Go do what I told you.” I said, snapping back into the boss.
“No we aren’t done talking about this. I already almost lost you once, I won’t have that happen again.” He said sternly, making me look at him.
“Jung Daehyun.” I said in a tight voice. He looked down and nodded then walked out of the room. Although we were dating, he knew his place when it came to orders from me. Hell, Yongguk and Himchan were older than me, but still listened to me.
“I already almost lost you once..” His words echoed in my head. That’s right. I had almost died about a year back. We had reports of men in our territory offering to sell us good weapons so I took all 6 of them with me with the hopes of securing a new outlet for supplies. Once we had got to the area, we noticed that there were 3 guys standing around a couple crates. When we walked up, they smiled and we started negotiations. Then Daehyun, Youngjae, and Yongguk were knocked out from behind. Himchan, Jongup, and Zelo immediately kneeled down as we noticed 5 other guys behind us. We were ambushed. The three men of mine that were awake immediately got the shit kicked out of them as the 5 guys ganged up on them. The three men in front of me made their way over to me as I pulled my gun out and shot the guys kicking my men’s asses. Surprised that I had a gun, they all looked at me when I shouted the order to retreat. Jongup and Himchan immediately got to work attempting to wake up Youngjae, Daehyun, and Yongguk. Zelo stood up and walked over to me as the guys in front of me landed a punch to my gut. Another of the assholes backhanded me and knocked my gun out of my hand. I looked back at Zelo.
“Noona!” Zelo cried out as he punched a guy in the face, only to be punched back.
“Get out of here!” I screamed at all of them. I groaned quietly as another punch was landed on my face, causing me to fall to my knees. The man pulled my hair back painfully, making me look at him before he punched me again, knocking me fully to the ground. One of the other men kicked me in the side, making me roll onto my stomach. He dropped his knee into my back then pulled out a switchblade and started slashing my back. I yelled out in pain, somehow rolling and knocking him off, grabbing the gun they had knocked out of my hand and quickly shooting the three of them in my immediate vicinity. I fell back to the ground, bleeding profusely from cuts on my face and my back. I squeezed my hand around the gun tighter as another 4 men ran over to see their comrades dead in pools of their own blood. I smiled wearily at them.
"What's wrong, boys? Didn't expect me to put up a fight when you assholes ambushed us?" I laughed bitterly as I raised the gun at them and they glared at me before backing off and retreating. My arm couldn't hold the gun up anymore and I breathed heavily, staring at the bright blue sky. It was almost peaceful.
"Noona!" I faintly heard Zelo yell as I closed my eyes.
"Zelo-ah." I quietly said, feeling him kneel next to me. I opened my eyes to see staring down at me, a bruise on his right cheek. He gently put his hand on my arm and rolled me over, causing me to yell in pain.
"I'm sorry, noona." He said quickly. I looked behind him to see the 4 guys running up to us with 2 more guys behind them. I quickly pushed Zelo away and raised my gun at them, shooting at them and missing.
"Yah! Zelo get out of here!" I yelled at him, feebly pushing myself up.
"Noona, I need to get you out of here! You'll die if I don't!" He exclaimed, attempting to lift me up. I pushed him away and kept shooting at the rapidly approaching men.
"Zelo you can't carry me. Listen to noona and get out of here. I can handle myself." I told him calmly, even though I knew I couldn't take them. Zelo refused to listen to me and managed to pick me up while using his own gun to shoot at the men, taking out 2. I shouted in pain as his arm tightened on my back. Himchan and Yongguk came running up with guns in their hands. Jongup came running up behind them with a first aid kit in one hand and a gun in the other. Zelo took my gun out of my hand and aimed at the 6 bastards running up to us. With a few shots from my men, they were all dead, and I was losing consciousness.
I looked around my office as I remembered Jongup handing the first aid kit to Himchan and him sewing up my back as I fought to stay awake. Daehyun and Youngjae had finally woke up once we got back to the trucks that were parked down the street. I had convinced Himchan that I wasn’t going to die on the way back to them, and was almost wrong. Daehyun held me hand and kept talking to me to keep me awake. They were all terrified, but he was most of all. Honestly, if it wasn’t for Zelo being an idiot and coming back for me, I’d be dead. Which might have been better for them to be completely honest. They wouldn’t have had to be in this shit anymore. Youngjae would be safe with his family. They all would.
After another day we had everything ready. The boys weren’t used to me being so deadly silent, usually I would bark orders at them and then at least start a conversation about something. But, today, I didn’t do any of that. I gave them silent orders and kept my emotions in check. All I wanted to do was sit in the corner and cry about how much of a terrible person I was, but I couldn’t. The only time I had cried in front of the boys is when the rival gang killed the last person of my family, my grandmother. They had brutally murdered her in cold blood. Everyone else in my family had gotten taken away from me in a similar way, just not face to face with the bastards. They had died in a fire while they were all asleep. I was out here at my headquarters and only survived due to that fact. Sure, I had my fair share of near death experiences, but to be the only living person of your’s one hell of a lonely existence. Honestly speaking, if it wasn’t for these 6 boys, I’d be dead a long time ago. I’ve tried to go on basically suicide missions several times and they never let me do so. They’ve really become my family. But just because I’m an orphan doesn’t mean I can take people away from their families and put them in danger just because I miss having a family.
Himchan had fixed the trucks last night in record time. Unsurprising, considering how skilled he is. Yongguk and Zelo had found the perfect spot for the robbery to go down. I decided to have him be up with me to survey the take. Daehyun and Jongup managed to get more guns from our usual outlet, who had told us multiple times that he wasn’t going to keep supplying to us unless we paid some big cash. It was a good thing I told them to use all the money left in the safe as the supplier demanded twice our usual price.
Yongguk and I stood on a landing and watched over the workers putting the money into the back of the armored truck before I signaled him to call the boys in. The entire operation went flawlessly, making me feel guiltier. These men shouldn’t be able to pull off a heist this big, this flawlessly. I’m truly horrible. Once we got back to the headquarters and counted the money, I stared at the piles of money with my hands clutched together and leaning my elbows on my knees. We didn’t say anything, but the tension in the room was so thick, it was suffocating. I raised my hands to my face and rubbed it, feeling so overwhelmed. Tears began to prickle in my eyes. How could I do this to them? How could I bring them into this life? Why the hell did I get into it?
I felt a hand rest on my shoulder. I didn’t even look, but I knew it was Yongguk. Sighing deeply, I stood up and walked out. I could feel all 5 pairs of eyes watching me as I left. Surprisingly, no one came after me. They all just let me wallow in my sadness. Can’t say I’m too surprised though, they probably want out just as bad as I want them out. I wonder if they’re thinking of their families, if they’re regretting ever agreeing to come work with me. I’m just happy that neither the cops nor the rival gang knows their faces. Hell, the cops don’t even know my face. They just know of my presence. I suppose that’s a good thing too. At least I was able to go out in public without having to disguise myself.
Oh, who am I kidding? I absolutely hate my life. I just wish it will all stop. That’s why I put in a call to the cops about what is going down. Hopefully, nothing will happen to Youngjae and the other boys. Hopefully, my rivals and I will finally rot in prison like we should. I can’t say that I won’t miss my boys though. They all have a special place in my heart, but it’s not my place to put them there. I’ll just waste away in a cell and appreciate the memories I had with them. Daehyun and I’s first date. Playing video games with Zelo and Jongup. Working on the trucks, which always had some kind of problem with them, with Himchan. Challenging Youngjae to contests just to see who was smarter. Talking to Yongguk about anything and everything. All the wonderful memories.
Eventually, I composed myself enough to be able to deal with all this shit and say goodbye to my closest friends. I walked back into the room to see them all sitting in the same spot, staring off into space.
“Let’s go.” I said, tautly. They all nodded and started to pack the money into a suitcase then we piled into one of the trucks and I drove to the meeting place. Daehyun sat next to me and kept glancing at me. I held out my hand to him and he took it.
“What are you thinking about?” Daehyun asked, rubbing his thumb on the back of my hand.
“How flustered you were that we couldn’t get any cheesecake anywhere on our first anniversary.” I responded, receiving a small smile and a slight blush on his cheeks.
“Well…what kind of town doesn’t sell any cheesecake at midnight?” He asked, pouting again after all this time.
“Probably because it was midnight.” I pointed out. He nodded and squeezed my hand.
“After this is all done can we talk about us over some cheesecake?” He asked, his eyes hopeful. I sighed and nodded, even though I knew there wasn’t going to be the chance to do that. I’ll probably never see him again. I’ll probably never see any of them again, and that thought just ripped my heart to shreds. “Promise?” He asked, raising his pinky. I smiled at him, sadly, and wrapped my pinky around his. I’m sorry, Daehyun. I’m so sorry, but I can’t keep this promise. Not this time.
“When have I ever broken a promise?” I asked him, causing him to smile brightly. I had to bite the inside of my cheek to keep myself from crying right then and there. It’s better for them this way. It’s better for everyone this way.
Once we arrived, I noticed everyone tucking their guns into their waistbands of their pants.
“No. No guns. We’re just here to give them the money and Youngjae back.” I said quickly, causing them to look at me funny.
“Then why did you have me and hyung go buy them?” Jongup asked.
“I changed my mind. It’s better if we’re unarmed.”
“You know they’re going to be armed though! They always are! What if they try something?!” Himchan yelled.
“Just trust me, Kim Himchan.” I said, making them reluctantly lock their guns away in the truck. I handed the keys to Daehyun who looked at me. “I’m going to ride in the back with Youngjae on the way back, I want to make sure he’s okay.” I lied, and he nodded. He’s fallen for every lie I’ve said.
Soon, we were face to face with my rival in the subway. Yongguk threw down the suitcase and Jiho nudged one of his men forward who opened the case and nodded back to him. Jiho grabbed Youngjae from his head men, Yukwon and Wonshik, then threw him forward to us. Just as he started to walk towards us, I started walking towards him and noticed Jiho pulling out his gun. I ran forward and whipped Youngjae behind me, before a piercing pain burned in my back. The subway echoed the gun shot then was silent. The way I turned Youngjae around, my back was to his captors and I was facing the boys. They all had matching looks of disbelief as I gasped from the pain. I looked into their eyes.
“Get out of here..” I whispered to them then fell to my knees. I heard Jiho gasp behind me. Then the pounding of feet. I maintained eye contact with Daehyun as cops surrounded everyone. “I’m sorry..” I whispered then fell forward, everything disappearing.
