Her friend opened the door and then helped her to bed. She laid her back.
“Remember, the doctor said to stay in bed for a couple days and not to stress yourself.” Her friend went to the stove and started making tea and something warm to eat.
“You don't have to do all this. I'll be fine.” she said from the bed.
“Unnie, it's okay. I told you I'm here for you. I'm your friend.”
“Then can I ask you a favor.”
Noona waved for her to come over and patted the spot next to her. She took her hand, “Don't tell him about this.”
“Unnie, why? He needs to know how badly hurt you are…”
“No. I don't want him worried about this. There's already too much going on.” She wiped tears away thinking about what had happened to him and how he was feeling about it. About how angry he already was about what their manager did and is still trying to do. “Don't say a word… not even to your oppa” she says smiling.
Noona’s phone rang, she answered.
“Hello baby. How are you?” She pulled herself up. Her friend propped a pillow behind her and went back to the stove.
“Where have you been? I went home but you weren't there. I tried to call but you didn't answer.” He said. He sounded different, almost mad.
“I was with my friend, the one from work. I'm sorry but I was a little busy to answer my phone.”
“Where did you go? I don't want you going anywhere without me or one of the hyungs.”
“I’m with my friend. Don't you trust her?”
“I do but…” he sighed heavily, “I just worry about you.”
“I know but everything is fine.” she tried to reassure him, “I resigned. I wanted to talk to my boss but he wasn't around so me and my friend went to go eat. She's here with me now. We're just about to have some tea. So no worries, okay.”
“Will she be able to stay with you for a couple days?”
“I don't know, I can ask. Why?”
“We have to go to Busan for a couple days to do shows. If not, then I'll try to get out of it.”
“No, you go. Take care of business, don't worry about me. Besides, he might put a stop to you staying behind.”
She heard him sigh again, “I wish I could come see you right now. You better answer your phone, don't leave me thinking the worse.”
“I will and I won't… I'll miss you while you're gone.” She said, her mind already devising a plan to stay safe.
“I'm already missing you. I'll talk to you later.”
She all of a sudden had a feeling in the pit of her stomach. What if something happens and she never sees him again. She ate. Told her friend what was happening, she agreed to stay with her but noona thought it was best if she stayed at her friend's place. Her friend thought that was best as well. She packed a bag and locked up her little place.
She watched out the window as they crossed over the Han River. He was the only one on her mind. They passed the spot where she met him that night only two short months ago but it seemed longer than that. She looked over at her friend and then at her phone. She opened it and sent a text to her little dark god.
“Where are you guys?” she texted. She waited then he answered.
“Hello sweetest, how are you?” He said and then sent a heart and a kiss emoji.
She smiled, shaking her head, “this guy is unbelievable” she said to herself.
“Come on, where you guys at?” she texted.
“Do you miss me and want to see me before I leave?” he texted back.
“Yes! I do, now tell me where you are and not a word to him.”
“Mmmm that's what I want to hear” followed with a winking emoji. “Still sitting at the dorm…. See you when you get here.” He texted followed by another kiss emoji.
“Chinguya… we have to make a detour.”
“To where?” Her friend asked curiously.
Noona quickly typed the street into the GPS. The GPS voice instructed them to get off at the next exit. They zigzagged through streets before they came upon some large houses, all brightly lit, surrounded by trees and high fences.
