Hey guys! Long time, no see! I'm sorry about my long absences but my new job is quite demanding. I've been trying to work on my writing, but, well, only so much I can do. Thanks to everyone who's bearing with me. I'm still working on the new story and I'm hoping to make an official announcement soon. Also, I didn't want to only pop in for contests and I wanted to try writing for a new group.
I was listening to my ipod and James Blunt's 'You're Beautiful' popped up. I've listened to it many times, but for the first time, a story popped into my head. So, this story is mostly based on the lyrics and I thought Leo would work well for it. I'm not very familiar with the VIXX members but I do enjoy their music. I apologize in advance if it's awkward since I'm not that familiar with Leo. I hope you enjoy.

Warning: the lyrics have 1 cussword, that's it, lol

My life is brilliant
My love is pure
Okay, so Taekwoon’s life wasn’t so brilliant. His life for the past few years was the same every week. Work days: wake up, eat, get ready for work, walk to the subway, pick up a coffee on the way, take the subway to work, transfer once, get to work, work through a day of monotonous and stressful projects and deadlines, finish at five, take the subway home, pick up food, crash at home, watch TV, text his friends, get ready for bed, go to bed. Lather, rinse, and repeat. Weekends: spend all weekend hanging out with his five best friends and try to pretend that work doesn’t exist. Lather, rinse, repeat. It was monotonous, but fulfilling, as much as it could be anyway.
He watched as his friends dated and broke up with different girls over the years. The twenties were supposed to be prime dating time and some, though not all, seemed to take that to mean see how many girls they could date before they turned 30. Not that he judged them for it, but it wasn’t Taekwoon’s thing. He was what his friend Wonsik called a ‘hopeless romantic’. And that was probably true. Part of him still believed in love at first sight, soul mates, ‘the one’. Apparently people considered that old-fashioned (and outdated) romantic. In this day and age, he knew it was old-fashioned. And he’d finally accepted that it was also hopeless. Never had he had that moment, not even a twinge. But he wasn’t willing to give up quite yet.
Friday; another day, another dollar. Wake up, eat, get ready for work, walk to the subway, pick up a coffee on the way, take the subway to work…
I saw an angel
Of that I’m sure
He managed to get a seat at the end that day. That was his favorite spot because he only had to worry about one person instead of being squished between two. An elderly woman stepped on at the next stop. Without hesitation, he stood up and directed her to his seat. She smiled gratefully and thank him for being ‘such a sweet young man’. He bowed his head politely and moved to where he could lean against the bar of the seat instead of grabbing a handle. His gaze wandered over inside of that car. He felt his heart stutter for a moment. Catty-corner to him, an angel was standing there.
She smiled at me on the subway
She was with another man
Amidst all the people in the train, an angel, beautiful and sweet. Maybe other people would’ve labeled her as ‘kind-looking’ and ‘just as pretty as the next’, but as far as Taekwoon was concerned, she looked perfect. And as if sensing his eyes on her, the girl slowly turned from the guy who was standing next to her. She met his eyes and shyly looked away. He watched a very light blush creep up on her cheeks and he had to fight the urge to go over and talk to her. Her eyes hesitantly looked back and instead of being freaked out or looking away again, she… she smiled. Taekwoon felt like his heart might explode.
But I won’t lose no sleep on that
‘Cause I’ve got a plan
When she finally looked away, attention called by the man she was with, Taekwoon’s mind started thinking of a way to talk to her. There weren’t very many stops left until he had to transfer lines. Yes, she was with someone, but who was he? Was he her boyfriend, husband, brother, coworker, some random guy who struck up a conversation with her? He knew he needed to talk to her. He had to tell her she was an angel, the most beautiful woman he’d ever seen. Would she think he was crazy? Probably. Did he care? Probably not.
You’re beautiful
You’re beautiful, it’s true
He would just have to stop being so scared and tell her that she was beautiful. If he lost this moment, maybe another one would never come. Maybe this was his only chance. She was just so blindingly beautiful.
I saw your face in a crowded place
And I don’t know what to do
‘Cause I’ll never be with you
And then reality set in. She was a stranger, a beautiful stranger, but a stranger nonetheless. And while Taekwoon was one to believe in love at first sight and all of that, other people weren’t. He couldn’t just walk up to her and ask her out, that would be ridiculous. And she was with someone already. And if that guy, who was handsome by any standards, was anything but her brother, there was no way she would even consider someone like Taekwoon. Though people had argued with him, he’d always felt that his looks were plain. Were looks everything? Not to Taekwoon, but to pretty much everyone else, yes. He looked down, careful to not catch her attention anymore.
Yes, she caught my eye
As we walked on by
Finally, his stop came. He waited for the doors to open on his side and didn’t look back. Maybe it would be a moment he regretted forever, but maybe it she wasn’t meant to be. As he took the stairs to transfer, he saw her again. This time, she was already looking at him. His breath caught.
She could see from my face that I was
Fuckin’ high
He couldn’t help the smile that slipped out. He figured she probably thought he looked high, giving her a goofy smile out of nowhere. But she smiled back even brighter.
And I don’t think that I’ll see her again
But we shared a moment that will last till the end
The man with her caught her attention and pointed towards one of the signs. She nodded. She was taking the same line but going the opposite direction. It was mere coincidence for the two to see each other like that and Taekwoon didn’t expect he would ever be so lucky again.
I saw your face in a crowded place
And I don’t know what to do
‘Cause I’ll never be with you
Taekwoon watched from only a couple step behind the two. In a handful of seconds, she would go right and he would go left. He likely would never see her again. Every time that thought crossed his mind, his chest felt a little tighter.
There must be an angel with a smile on her face
When she thought up that I should be with you
He smiled sadly. Maybe there was an angel in charge of moments like these, moments that took your breath away, moments that were supposed to turn into more moments. That angel was probably smiling when I saw that woman. That angel probably thought she’d done her job.
But it’s time to face the truth
I will never be with you
He felt sorry for that angel. Whether it was just bad timing or his cowardice, those moments wouldn’t lead to more moments. Those moments would stay forever, suspended in time in his memory, maybe even in hers.
He turned left.
A hand on his arm pulled him off balance. One foot taking a step, one foot on the ground, he hopped to catch his balance.
“I-I’m sorry,” the woman stuttered. People brushed past them without a second thought. But for Taekwoon, he had too many thoughts. “I, uh, I’m moving and changing jobs so I, uh, won’t be going this way anymore. My friend, the one with me on the train, said I should just go for it. Sorry if I’m babbling, I do that when I’m nervous.” She was babbling, but Taekwoon found it to be cute. “I’ve seen you on the train every day during the work week for months, and, uh, well, I thought it might be a sign that you finally noticed me. I, uh, I think you’re handsome and you’re really nice. You always give up your seat and move to let people sit next to each other and, yeah, um… So, um, you don’t need to say anything.” Taekwoon was too lost to say anything. “I probably won’t see you again so I thought I should just say it. And it won’t be awkward because you don’t have to be polite or whatever. So, yeah. Um. I… goodbye.”
And then she took off in the opposite direction before Taekwoon even had a chance to say anything. He tried to go after her, but the throng of people pushed him towards the destination he needed to go. He’d lost a second chance. He tried to process all of her words as he finally gave in to the current of the crowd. She’d seen him for months, she’d been waiting for him to notice her, she thought he was handsome and nice, she apparently didn’t think she had a chance with him, she was apparently braver than him, and he really would never see her again. She was moving and changing jobs so they probably would never cross paths on the subway again.
That day was harder for him than usual. Not only were all the projects for the entire company behind, but his mind couldn’t stay on work. Even when the weekend came, there was no reprieve. When his friends finally badgered him enough about his demeanor, Taekwoon told them what had happened. Wonsik and Hongbin told him to just shrug it off, that there were plenty of other fish in the sea. Jaehwan teased him about being so shy but gave him comforting pats on his back and said he was sorry it turned out like that. Sanghyuk and Hakyeon were completely supportive and even tried to convince him to look for her again.
Monday came: wake up, eat, get ready for work, walk to the subway, pick up a coffee on the way, take the subway to work, transfer once, get to work...

Once at work, a meeting was called to discuss the recent problems with being behind on the projects. As usual, different departments and different team members tried to passive-aggressively blame the others. Taekwoon let the sound drone on in the background. It wasn’t until the manager stepped in and told them of a solution that had been decided by him and the branch manager that he finally started listening again. Because all the departments were working so completely separately, they had followed a lead on a person who was well-known in the field as being a great liaison and getting departments to communicate and work together with as many projects as they needed. They hired her as a team member and today was her first day to work with them. The manager opened the door for her and Taekwoon watched breathlessly as the woman from the subway walked in.
“Hello, everyone. My name is Y/N. I look forward to working with all of you. I hope—“ Her eyes roamed over the crowd of her new coworkers, until they met Taekwoon’s. Her eyes stayed on him worriedly, afraid of the awkwardness she’d accidentally caused. And now she’d have to work with that. She mentally smacked herself. And then he smiled at her. His smile was brilliant and pure as he looked at her with fondness and delight. She smiled back, relieved. “I hope to get to know all of you.” She bowed politely. The meeting was dismissed.
Taekwoon waited at the back until everyone greeted her. He smiled at her and her cheeks turned a beautiful rosy color. “H-Hi,” he said and then internally groaned at his own stupidity.
"Y/N, right?”
“Y-Yes. L-Look, about Friday—“
“I’m Taekwoon.”
“Oh, uh, nice to meet you—“
“You’re beautiful,” he suddenly confessed. He ran his fingers nervously through his hair.
Her mouth opened and closed wordlessly until she finally choked out, “Wh-What?”
“You’re beautiful,” he repeated with a little more confidence.
“I wanted to tell you that, but I was so nervous. And then you left without giving me a chance.”
“I was scared—“
“I know.” He paused. “So was I. But… you really should know, you’re beautiful. And… I was wondering… would… would you like to go on a date sometime?”
Her blush turned a few shades darker. “Yes, I’d like that very much.”
There must be an angel with a smile on her face
When she thought up that I should be with you

Okay, so, I hope you enjoyed it! And I hope it wasn't too bad. Like I said, I'm not super familar with VIXX so my apologies. But the story popped into my head and he seemed like the right person.
