Uh, Can iKon Get In Trouble For This?

I know in America it won't be a big deal, but Korea is known for being CRAZY strict on drug laws...

So I just watched iKon's new MV and something popped out at me. I know it isn't a big deal in the States to show or allude to drug use, but in Korea MVs have been banned for even pretending to have alcohol so I worry.

I also thought it was HELLA clever and got a good laugh out of it though (just hope it doesnt come back to bite them!)

Basically, there is a scene where they are making a popular traditional Korean snack that is basically just burnt sugar. But the way they are making it, and the way they set the scene it looks an awwwwwwwful lot like cocaine (the sugar) and that they're melting a drug to inject it (you can do this with heroin or really any drug)

You might think 'no no they didnt mean that' but i mean, it looks pretty intentional - and again they could (and probably were) just doing this to be funny cause the contrast between cocaine and this traditional cookie IS pretty hilarious.

I just hope the Korean broadcasting service doesnt see it and get pissed, hopefully they wont get the reference ;)

It starts at 2:19:

Is it just me? Just the fact that I don't often think about drugs but thats immediately what came to mind when I saw that scene is what makes me worried for them :/

I respect everyone's opinion and how they view things but I wish iKon's name would not get drug through the dirt or be connected to drama in any way. I feel like this is trying to stir up trouble. That may not be the case but this doesn't sit well with me. These boys have worked so hard and have come so far only to once again face potential drama and issues that could tarnish their image. They are 7 dorks and the sweetest boys they would never suggest this kind of thing so for someone to say that they were regardless of who's idea it was leaves a bad taste in my mouth. I'm not trying to start any fights but I wish these types of things would not be said about iKon.

Everyone is allowed to interpret things however they want but knowing what that is that they're making and knowing how it's made I can't understand how anyone would think it signified anything else. I just feel like this card's purpose was to potentially cause unwanted drama and possibly hate. That may not have been your intention but this is a possible outcome. I'm not attacking or hating on you I just feel like this was not necessary but I'm not gonna tell you what you can and can't post so don't take this the wrong way. Even if it was intentional I still don't think it should've been brought up this way cause I just feel like this could potentially cause problems. So I just feel like this should've been something left unsaid or if it needed to be discussed it could've been amongst friends in a group chat or something not by making a card about it. But that's just my opinion.

I think the concern that most of us have is that you have a lot of followers and a lot of Vinglers, especially newer ones, who look up to you. With that you carry a tremendous amount of responsibility to ensure that your cards and how they are worded do not do any damage, intentional or unintentional. This is especially important for groups that are newer or don't have as big of a following. BTS, Super Junior, or Big Bang have huge followings and they aren't effected as much as smaller groups like iKON, WINNER, BtoB, etc. Basically just please take into consideration what kind of impact your words could have on a group. As moderators for smaller groups we are trying so hard to help our groups grow and gain positive attention. One innocent but ill worded card from you can cause more damage than I'm sure you realize.

To be honest....That's hilarious!!! I never even thought of it like that when I watched the MV!!!! XD XD XD XD When I saw that scene I was just like, "Hey! I know what that is!! I've seen it on variety shows and I found a Youtube video on how to make it~" But I never even would think that it was like a reference to drugs (if it is). I just burst out laughing at the sugar that looked like cocaine XD XD Am I the only one who finds this hilarious?? Cx I still hope that Korea doesn't get its panties in a twist and get mad though ;l

You know, it's interesting to think about the similarities between sugar and drugs. We get so addicted to sugar even though it has bad effects on the bodies. I think it's a good point to bring up. Kind of like think about what you're putting into your body.
