French striker accused of insulting the victims of the Paris attack
The Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema is in deep trouble. He is currently under investigation by French authorities for blackmailing the French national teammate, Mathieu Valbuena and for driving without a license in Spain. Now, he's being accused of insulting the victims of the Paris attack. The El Clasico, which is considered one of the greatest rivalry in sports, was played about a week ago, in which Benzema and Real Madrid was humiliated by rival, Barcelona, losing the game 4-0. But before the game, the French national anthem, La Marseillaise, was played in order to pay respect following the Paris attack. And while the French anthem was played through Sanitago Bernabeu, He spit! As Benzema's actions went viral all around the world, France's right-wing member of parliament, Nadine Morano said he should be banned from playing for France. She went on to say his actions were an "insult to the victims...no longer worthy of wearing the colours of France" There were other responses, some condemning Benzema and others supporting him that he did not have the intention to disrespect the French national anthem and the victims of the attack. What do my sports fans think? Is it okay for players to spit or should Benzema have been more careful? @jeff4122 @christianmordi @ButterflyBlu @superiorsl @Starbell808 @InPlainSight @jokes @BEAUTYgirlARIEL @David19Flo23 @karencorchado @salahabdalla @Moose892 @BrookieyElba @SamuelRodriguez @ValerieAlissaPa @xitlalicordova1 @AndrewMaldonado @Jovi @Shippudenguy21 @AbdulrahmanSaad @trinityarcangel @thefeels @Link4TW @ChriSingularis @sanazsanaz @WilliamBrown @DannyMoses @ClaySharko @Ravenwing92 @FromBlue2U @TravisBeck @LemissaNicole @BossDominata @gatorchick96 @MatthewBoughton @MarcusJiles @BrandonMcNeil @MalikLawary @KyleBerke @manbungo2000 @DerekGumtow @havic @Straightshooter @PhilAnthony @Kirooken @yaakattackk @RodneyYoung @DreJones @JonathanKerns @bnzattoni @TravisManning @GalacticChakra @smothgreen @afxs @johnnolastname @ChristopherKenn @ChasePage @coreywriley91@MikeWolf @MrTenThirty @JasonNilsson @BrunoDutch @SherzTYC @krishntejanand @addri @ChrisStephens @AniBreo @GinnaL13 @VeronicaArtino @mishthi @andwas @TomasVasquez @oct6eg10 @NimishMathur @Sydsocquet @Darlin972 @GingerMJones @starli @kyleatekwana
Ronaldo and the Syrian Refugee Boy
Remember that time when a Hungarian journalist intentionally tripped a Syrian refugee carrying his son? Well, the story of Osama Alabed Almohse (the father in the picture) and his youngest son, Ziad, immediately became international news and word spread that Almohse was a soccer coach in Syria. He was then offered a teaching job at CENAFE which is a Spanish school that trains coaches. And it didn't stop there. Last Thursday, Real Madrid president, Florentine Perez, invited Almohse, and his two sons, Mohammad and Ziad, to Santiago Bernabeu Stadium, the home and heart of Real Madrid. But something even greater happened over the weekend during a match between Real Madrid and Granada. Ziad got to walk onto the field of Santiago Bernabeu with his hero and the sport's most recognizable star, Cristiano Ronaldo. Also, Ronaldo and his teammates wore T-shirts that showed their support for all the refugees that have fled Syria. And Real Madrid said the club plans on donating 1 million euros toward the humanitarian cause and help out the Syrian refugees. The club plans on helping Almohse attain refugee status in Spain, but he'll have to first learn how to speak Spanish. Hopefully they can start a new life in Spain and never have to go through the terrible experience they had a few weeks ago.
