Kpop, the abbreviation of Korean Pop, is a musical genre that comes from South Korea. While the term "K-pop" comprises all genres of "popular music" within South Korea, the term actually covers a variety of music that could be range from dance-pop, pop ballad, electronic, rock, hip-hop, R&B, etc. In 1992, Seo Taiji & Boys ushered the modern era of K-pop. Their integration of foreign musical elements paved the way for the eclectic music style that is seen in today's Kpop world. Of course, everyone here knows who Yang Hyun-suk is right?
