Hanging out turned out to be every day. As soon as he was done with practice or any activity the company had him doing, he would call to tell her he was coming to pick her up. She would get ready and wait for him.
Tonight they were going to an Italian restaurant, Jae bragged about chicken alfredo and gnocchi, he wanted to try it. They had to park down the street almost two blocks from the restaurant because there was no where else to park. They walked arm in arm, heading to the restaurant. Jae happen to look back and see someone with their phone out, following them. She thought, just a bystander that recognized Junmyeon. So she let his arm go. He looked at her, still smiling but questioning. He nudged her to take his arm again. She looked back but whoever it was, was gone. She slipped her arm back into place.
“I'm not worried about it” Junmyeon said as they ate, “I really don't care. I'm enjoying MY time with my favorite person. If they misunderstand, then let them.”
“You're really not worried?”
Junmyeon shook his head, “Not one bit.”
“Okay. On the way back from the restroom, I seen a guy sitting to the back, dressed in black, he had the camera on his phone pointed at you. Do you see him?” Jae said moving into the seat closer to him, out of the way so he could see this guy.
Junmyeon looked around quickly, acting as though he was looking for the waiter, even going as far as waving the waiter over. He seen the guy she was talking about. Junmyeon squinted his eyes, thinking that guy looked familiar. Really familiar. If he didn't know better, he swore it was his dongsaeng. He took a huge bite, trying to force the knot in his throat down.
“I think he might be from the company.” He told the waiter more water, then he turned to Jae, “Sometimes, I noticed when an employee, namely someone like me is showing extra activity, they'll send someone to investigate."
"They don't trust you, got it."
Junmyeon grinned with a mouth full of food, "Not me, You. Its mainly you they will investigate. Your name, where you work, where you come from, criminal history, that sort of stuff. Just to be sure you're not someone that's going to steal me away from them. I'm a part of their biggest money maker, what do you expect?
“Ah, I see”
Junmyeon grinned inappropriately, his tongue cupping his upper lip, he leaned super close to her, his eyes eyeing her mouth, “Should we make it worth their wild?”
Jae smiled, leaned forward in front of him, moving her head around in a circle, moving closer and closer to him, then she pinched his puckered lips, “No. Maybe some other time, not here.”
Junmyeon let out a roar of laughter, “Awwww, you're no fun! No fun at all!“
She grabbed his face and planted a kiss on him. When she pulled back, she tasted her lips, she imagined for a split second, she had given Sehun a kiss. “You taste like red wine and alfredo sauce.”
He made a wide grin, “So do you”
“Let's hurry and get out of here before we make a spectacle of ourselves.” she said downing her wine. She got up and waited for him to follow.
Junmyeon threw some money on the table and they left.
It started to rain as they walked back to the car. Jae grabbed Junmyeon and they ran for cover. They stood under a store canopy halfway to his car. She brushed the water off his hair and jacket and stood close to him trying to keep warm. Others started taking shelter under the store canopy. They were talking when Junmyeon noticed someone familiar, standing on the other side of Jae. He stepped around Jae to be sure that he was seeing the right person.
“SeHun?” Junmyeon turned him around.
SeHun smiled, “Hyung… What are you doing here?”
“I’m about to ask you the same thing, what are you doing here?”
“I asked first, hyung.” SeHun said shaking water off his jacket.
Junmyeon kinda stood apart from Jae, he looked at her but she was busy on her phone. He didn't want SeHun to know they were together.
“I was having dinner.” He finally answered, “and you? What are you doing all the way out here?”
SeHun ran his fingers through his hair, “I was looking for a store. A book store but I think I have the wrong street.”
“A book store? Since when did you start reading?” Junmyeon said sarcastically, almost laughing. It was a lie, it had to be.
“Hyung! It's not for me, it's for JongIn hyung. It's a gift.” SeHun said.
Junmyeon looked at SeHun's coat and hat and seen the face mask poking out of his front pocket. He wondered how long was Sehun following them, how often, just today or everyday. He felt a tug on the back of his coat, then he saw Jae run out into the rain.
“You didn't need a ride did you? Because I'm going to take off back to the dorm.” Junmyeon asked. He covered his head with his own jacket.
SeHun shook his head, “No. I have my car.”
“Okay, well I'll see you later.” He slugged SeHun in the arm and took off running.
Junmyeon looked back and waved at SeHun, who was still standing under the canopy, before getting into his car. He drove down the street slowly, trying to see where she was. Then he saw her turn the corner, she had ran almost two more blocks from where they parked. He turned in right behind her and honked.
“What was all that about?” She asked getting in.
“My little brother looking for a gift for the other little brother. Just coincidence.” he said and they left.
