The next couple weeks went by faster then you could keep up. You tried to make every minute and every second count with him. You explained the situation to your boss and he understood that you needed time off, but that the project you were working on couldn’t be put on hold forever. The big presentation was in three weeks. No matter how much you told Jimin he was much more important than the meeting, he didn’t want you to miss it no matter what.
“Y/N, for the hundredth time, no. You can’t skip it. You’ve worked so hard for this moment, you need to go.” he said looking at you seriously.
“But Jimin…” you whined.
“No. No ifs, or buts. You are going and this is the end of this discussion.”
“I...fine.” you start to argue, but decide to give up knowing he was just as stubborn as you and wouldn’t stop until he won.
“You should actually go and work on it now. I’ll be okay here on my own.”
“Nope, I’ll leave once you’re asleep.” you say with a big smile on your face.
You knew you needed to work on this presentation to perfect it, but Jimin was always a priority before anything else in your life. You didn’t want to miss a second with him.
You look at him and he has his eyes closed and pretends to snore.
“Jimin...pabo. I know you’re just faking it.”
“You can’t get rid of me that easily. I’m not going anywhere.” you say not backing down.
“We can keep this up all day if you want to.”
“Geez Y/N, when did you get so stubborn?” he says jokingly.
“You know I’ve always been this way.” you say laughing.
You spend the rest of the day telling Jimin about the presentation and how the CEO and Presidents of the company are going to be there to listen to your proposal.
“I’m so proud of you Y/N. The look in your eyes when you talk about your work is really admirable. It’s almost like you love your work more than me.” he says pretending to cry.
“Maybe I do...maybe I don’t. The world may never know.” you say sarcastically.
“Hey! That was a trick question and you failed!” he said slightly hurt.
“Jimin, if you don’t know by now that you’re the most important thing in my life, then maybe we don’t belong together.”
“Never. I’m never letting you go again.” he says grabbing a hold of your hand.
“Of course not. Even if you tried, I’m not going anywhere.” you say squeezing his hand.
You hear a knock on the door and see a nurse walk in.
“Mr. Park, it’s time for your medication.”
She comes in and hands Jimin a little cup of pills and a glass of water. This was his daily routine. He would have to drink medicine every couple hours every single day. You knew he was tired of it, but it had to be done. You weren’t sure what the medicine was for, but you knew he had to take them.
The nurse walks out of the room and Jimin sighs.
“I don’t like being here Y/N.”
“I know...I’m sorry. They need to monitor you 24/7 just in case.” you say feeling so sorry for him.
“You know what I miss more than anything though?”
“Hm..?” you reply while adjusting his covers.
“Just being outside...with you.”
You recall your entire relationship and realize that most of your dates were outdoor dates. You were either hiking, taking walks on the beach, exploring new areas, or having picnics somewhere, that’s just what Jimin loved to do. You remember the first picnic he took you on was the moment you knew you wanted to spend the rest of your life with him. It wasn’t anything extravagant, or fancy, but it was one of the best days of your life.
Jimin texted you that morning asking you to be ready by noon with no destination, no hints, or anything to help you figure out where you guys were headed for the day.
It was a warm day in May, so you opted for a short sleeve t-shirt, some distressed jeans, and sneakers. At 12 sharp Jimin rang your doorbell. You eagerly ran downstairs and opened the door.
“So...do you want to tell me where we’re headed for the day?”
“No, no, and no.” he replied with a smile stretching across his face.
“Jiminnn, don’t do this. You know it drives me insane when you do this. Just one hint?” you plead.
“It’s a surprise, you’ll just have to wait and see!” he says while pulling you through the door.
You get into his car and he tells you to put on a blindfold.
“Jimin really?” you say while laughing.
“Yes, really.” he says with a smile.
“No peeking okay?” he says seriously.
“Yes, I promise I won’t peek.”
You both drive for about 45 minutes and the car comes to a stop. You don’t know why, but your heart is racing.
“I’m going to lead you out of the car and you can finally take off your blindfold when we stop okay?”
“Okay, sounds easy enough,” you say with a nervous laugh.
Jimin grabs ahold of your hand and leads the way. The spring breeze brushes across your skin and it feels somewhat familiar. You walk for about five minutes and he stops. He goes behind you and removes the blindfold. You blink a couple times to adjust your eyes to the brightness. You look around speechless.
“Surprise.” he says with a smile.
“Jimin...how do you know about this place? Only my parents ever took me here.” you say still shocked you were here.
“Your parents always use to mention a cliff overseeing the water with a lighthouse that they use to take you to all the time as a kid, and there’s a picture in your house of you and your parents here. After a lot of research I finally found it.” he says with a proud smile.
“I don’t even know what to say…” you say looking up at him with tearfilled eyes.
“You don’t have to say anything, just being here with you is enough.”
“I...I can’t even believe this is real right now. I haven’t been here for years...and after my parents passed away, I told myself I would never come back here. Thank you Jimin, this is one of the best things you could have ever given me. I love you so much.”
“I want to do things like this for you for the rest of my life, I love you Y/N.” he says while pulling you in for a kiss.
He leads you over to a blanket and a picnic basket and starts pulling out all of your favorite foods.
You look at him in awe, and know that he will never really know how much in love you are with him.
“How did I ever get so lucky with you Park Jimin?”
“Really? I feel like I’m the lucky one here.”
You look up and see Jimin looking at you.
“Hm?” you say snapping back to reality.
“What were you thinking about? You kept smiling...I want something to smile about too.” he says jokingly.
“I was just thinking about you.” you answer honestly with a small smile.
You look over at him and he instantly starts blushing.
“You can’t just say things like that Y/N...it makes me feel embarrassed.”
“Well, I’m just being honest. You’re always on my mind.” you lay laughing.
You talk for the rest of the afternoon until it’s time for Jimin’s treatment. The nurse and doctors come in and roll him out of the room. You walk next to him while holding his hand until you get to the doors leading to the treatment room.
“I’ll be back Y/N.”
“Okay, I’ll be waiting here for you.” you say squeezing his hand.
They roll him into the room and you go to find Jihyun. You search his floor, but he’s nowhere to be found. You walk up to the front desk and ask her if she knows where Jihyun is.
“I can page him if you would like ma’am. He may be in surgery right now, but he will get the message as soon as possible.”
“Yes, that would be great, thank you.”
You go back to Jimin’s room to wait for him. You look around and notice that you have all of your work stuff lying around everywhere so you clean while you wait. There is a knock on the door and Jihyun walks in.
“Noona, is everything okay?”
“Yes, everything is fine, but I do have a favor to ask you...”
