There are two types of transportation cards. It is divided to Prepaid card and Deferred card.
You can buy prepaid card at a convenience store or Most credit cards offer this service for their customers.
Convenience stores (GS25, CU, 7-Eleven, Ministop, With Me, Buy The Way, Story Way, etc.) bearing the T-money or Cashbee logo in areas of use listed above. (*Note: T-Money card can also be purchased from ticket vending and card reload devices inside subway stations)
Credit cards also offer Deferred payment. You may request for this service through the website of the credit card company.
Korea Tour Card, an exclusive card for international tourists, has been released.
Korea Tour Card is not just a transportation card; it also provides the card-holder with countless benefits and discounts in all areas of tourism, from attractions to shopping to K-culture, performances and more.
When using the card, visitors can receive a discount on admission to art museums and amusement parks, as well as receive benefits when shopping at department stores, malls, duty free shops and more. The Korea Tour Card is available for sale at Seven Eleven convenience stores in the metropolitan area and in Jeju-do, as well as at the AREX Travel Centers at both Incheon Airport and Seoul Station.

Metropolitan Pass or MPASS is an exclusive transportation pass for international tourists for use in the Seoul Metropolitan City area and Jeju. The pass offers 20 rides a day for the duration of the pass, including Seoul Subway Lines 1-9, Incheon Subway, Airport Railroad Express All-stop Train, metropolitan trains (excluding Sinbundang and Gyeongchun (ITX) Lines), Seoul buses (excluding red buses), and Jeju buses. MPASS comes in five different durations: 1-day, 2-day, 3-day, 5-day and 7-day passes. They are valid for the designated time period, and expire at midnight on the last day of validity (Ex. 3-day MPASS Activation: May 1 / Expiration: 23:59, May 3). As MPASS has the T-money function, additional funds can be charged to the pass for use on taxis and at select convenience stores, as well as on additional buses and subways over the 20 rides each day.
MPASS cards are available for purchase at the Seoul Tourist Information Centers (+82-32-743-3270) in Incheon International Airport Passenger Terminal (1F Gates 5 & 10), Myeong-dong Tourist Information Center (+82-2-778-0333) at Euljiro 1(il)-ga Station (Seoul Subway Line 2, Exit 5), and T-Money Town in Seoul City Tower Bldg. (1F) at Seoul Station. When buying an MPASS, you must also pay a refundable deposit of 4,500 won, and a non-refundable service charge of 500 won on top of the card price.
MPASS cards can be returned at either Seoul Travel Information Centers (1F) in Incheon International Airport, Myeong-dong Tourist Information Center, or T-Money Town in Seoul City Tower Bldg. (1F) at Seoul Station. The 4,500 won deposit will be refunded upon return. Any remaining card balance on the MPASS will be refunded pending the service charge of 500 won.
