Wedding Band vs DJ (Which Is Better?)
We love both bands and DJs and think there is a place for both of them to create an awesome party for any wedding or event. But if you only have the budget or space for one of them, which are you supposed to choose? Your Budget One thing we can't ignore is how much cheaper DJs are compared to wedding bands. If you are think about hiring a band or a DJ for a wedding and aren't sure which to pick, it's a good idea to think about what budget you have. Of course, DJs are usually solo performers and would command a much lower fee than a larger group of musicians. Wedding Venue Space If space is an issue, a DJ could also be the optimal choice. Their set up is usually much smaller and easier to fit in at most wedding venues. However, a full band set up can look incredible if you have the space for it. It really is a spectacle to see a band set up properly and decked out with guitars, drums, speakers and microphones! A scene like this creates a buzz in the room and gets your guests ready for a party. Sound Limiter Friendly These devices are becoming more and more common across wedding venues around the UK. Essentially, a wedding venue sound limiter will cut power to the stage or wedding musicians if the performance breaches a certain decibel level. As you can imagine, this can be quite a problem for couples who want a rocking live wedding band at their party. DJs are able to alter the volume of their entertainment much easier than a live band. Some wedding bands can work with sound limiters by performing with electric drum kits and different instruments, but it can have a negative effect on the energy of the performance. It's worth checking with your venue what the sound limit is set to before making your decision! Song Requests Another plus for the DJ column is the ability to deal with almost any song requests. The repertoire of a DJ is huge compared to that of a band. This is great if you are wanting a really wide variety of songs to dance to on your wedding night. Whilst a band can only play a certain amount of songs live, it is absolutely incredible to hear them performed by talented musicians. If you have a first dance request or a special song you'd love to hear on your wedding night, hearing it sung by live musicians makes that moment even more special!
Disney Princesses Singing In Their Native Languages
English is not the native tongue of Disney Princesses. Everyone has grown up with Disney Princesses because they are the most innocent form of childhood entertainment. With the fantastic movies comes even better songs which make them so appealing. Your infatuation with them carries on into adulthood and before you know it, you're sitting in your living room watching the movies singing along with your own children. Crazy right? Well, here's the thing, English is the default language, not the native one. All Disney Princesses have come from other countries other than Pocahontas who was a Native American in North America (present day USA). It brings up a really interesting change because when you watch the Disney movies in their native languages, it has an entirely new meaning because it's authentically and historically correct. Disney Americanizes our movies through using English and we forget that languages play a huge role in presenting emotions, interactions, conversations, and without a doubt, our singing. One of the biggest trends on the internet is hearing a Disney Princess sing her hit song with her own native finesse instead of a defaulted English one. Enjoy and really take notice on the differences in emphasis and fluidity of the lyrics. Because of changed language, the songs also have different lyrics to fit the melody which slightly alters the song even if it has a similar universal meaning. Disney is genius. What do you think?
7 Iconic Prince Songs To Remember His Legacy
Today we've lost a legend. At age 57, iconic pop star Prince has died. He was the voice behind "Purple Rain" and "Let's Go Crazy" singing pop hits to define the generation. Prince was a man of secrecy, pure exclusivity, and always stayed at a firm distance from his fans letting the music only speak for itself. Like the passings of Michael Jackson and Whitney Houston, Prince will go down in history as another pop legend who died too young. Prince passed away at 10:07 a.m. CT in his Paisley Park residence this morning. He was found unconscious in an elevator by a man whose name has yet to be released. The man called 911 at 9:43 a.m. and when paramedics arrived, they were unable to revive the legend after attempting CPR. Though cause of death originally claimed to be from a severe flu, new information is slowly pointing to a drug overdose. There are no signs of fowl play. "The person is dead here. ... And the people are just distraught," the man told the police dispatcher. Prince's autopsy is set for Friday. Below I have provided a list of 7 of Prince's greatest hits and the iconic lyrics from each: 1. Purple Rain I never meant to cause you any sorrow I never meant to cause you any pain I only wanted one time to see you laughing I only want to see you laughing in the purple rain. 2. Let's Go Crazy Instead of asking him how much of your time is left Ask him how much of your mind, baby 'Cause in this life Things are much harder than in the after world In this life You're on your own. 3. When Doves Cry This is what it sounds like When doves cry. 4. Kiss You don't have to be rich To be my girl You don't have to be cool To rule my world Ain't no particular sign I'm more compatible with I just want your extra time and your Kiss. 5. Raspberry Beret She wore a Raspberry beret The kind you find in a second hand store Raspberry beret And if it was warm she wouldn't wear much more Raspberry beret I think I love her. 6. Little Red Corvette Little red Corvette Baby you're much too fast. 7. 1999 I was dreamin' when I wrote this So sue me if I go 2 fast But life is just a party, and parties weren't meant 2 last War is all around us, my mind says prepare 2 fight So if I gotta die I'm gonna listen 2 my body tonight Yeah, they say two thousand zero zero party over, Oops out of time So tonight I'm gonna party like it's 1999.
Confessing Your Love with Classic 00's Pop
With all these flash mob engagement videos going around, it has got me wondering why more people aren't using this style when it comes to asking a girl to the movies or finding a prom date?! This is a fool-proof way to confess your love! Do it now!! 1. BBMak - Back Here There will never be anything more romantic than BBMak's Back Here. Nothing. You will melt hearts from the very first line. 2. 98 Degrees - I Do Super cheesy and super smooth, you can't go wrong with Nick Lachey & co's "I Do (Cherish You). Make sure you have the hoop earrings in both ears. It's all part of the package. 3. N'Sync - I Promise You The best part of this is even if you panic and stop singing, your audience will pick up the slack for you. No one can resist singing along with this chorus. 4. Savage Garden - Truly Madly Deeply How can you think of a 90s pop song and not think of Savage Garden!? Guaranteed your crush will want to stand with you on a mountain. (Shout out to "I Knew I Loved You" - I could only put one of you on the list!) 5. Backstreet Boys - I Want it That Way If the object of your love is not jumping into your arms before you hit this chorus you need to find another crush. This one clearly isn't worth it. This is arguably one of the best love song in history (coming from a serious Backstreet Boys fan...) so people who don't appreciate it don't deserve to be loved. 6. Enrique Iglesias - Hero Best way to get anyone to fall in love with you: look like Enrique Iglesias. If you can't: sing like him. 7. Avril Lavigne - Sk8ter Boi I don't care how you do it, but taking a few minutes to change the lyrics to Sk8ter Boi will win anyone's heart. Or at least mine. Call me. 8. A-Teens - Can't Help Falling in Love This doesn't need an explanation. Bonus points if you can get the choreography down too. 9. S Club 7 - You'e My Number One I am smiling like an idiot right now just listening to this song. It's catchy, sweet, and fun. S Club 7 can seriously do no wrong. They won't let you down.
OLD SONGS WILL CATCH YOUR EARS
I love music. Yes, I do. That's all. My friends say songs that you hear define your age; for me it is more to era. My friends are about 10-15 years older than me, but I'm more to the songs that they hear in 80's or 90's than to the songs that my friends who are 10 years younger than me (read Katty Perry, Jessie J, Nicky Minaj, etc). Even, that 70's songs or less still catch my heart. My friends who are younger than me laugh at me when I play these songs or even know what the lyrics are and how to sing it. They will put me in the same taste with their parents'. It is fine and I don't mind. Why do I have to? These songs are everlasting. I will remember how my dad played the songs everytime we were in the car in our way to some place and we sang, my dad,my mom,and I. Everytime we were together he always played songs. Yes, he loved music as well. I have these 10 songs that are always in my mind. Of course I still have hundreds, but I just give us 10 songs that may take you back to a moment that probably the moment when you dated your wife or husband. A moment when you broke up with your lover, or maybe a moment like mine when you were just this 4,5,or 6 year little kid who loved the songs because your parents loved them. Here they are: 1. I'll remember you by Atlantic Starr 2. I don't have the heart to hurt you by James Ingram 3. Hard to say I'm sorry by Chicago 4. Just the way you are by Billy Joel 5. If you leave me now by Chicago 6. Till I find you again by Richard Marx 7. After all by Al Jarreau 8. After the love has gone by Earth, Wind, and Fire 9. Why goodbye by Peabo Bryson 10. Stuck on you by Lionel Richie Let's listen to them and tell me what do you feel?
