Disney Princesses Singing In Their Native Languages

English is not the native tongue of Disney Princesses. Everyone has grown up with Disney Princesses because they are the most innocent form of childhood entertainment. With the fantastic movies comes even better songs which make them so appealing. Your infatuation with them carries on into adulthood and before you know it, you're sitting in your living room watching the movies singing along with your own children. Crazy right? Well, here's the thing, English is the default language, not the native one. All Disney Princesses have come from other countries other than Pocahontas who was a Native American in North America (present day USA). It brings up a really interesting change because when you watch the Disney movies in their native languages, it has an entirely new meaning because it's authentically and historically correct. Disney Americanizes our movies through using English and we forget that languages play a huge role in presenting emotions, interactions, conversations, and without a doubt, our singing. One of the biggest trends on the internet is hearing a Disney Princess sing her hit song with her own native finesse instead of a defaulted English one. Enjoy and really take notice on the differences in emphasis and fluidity of the lyrics. Because of changed language, the songs also have different lyrics to fit the melody which slightly alters the song even if it has a similar universal meaning. Disney is genius. What do you think?

The Disney Movie Medley You NEED In Your Life

The vocals are INSANE. If you haven't heard of Voctave, you're truly missing out. They are known for posting incredible acapella covers of our favorite old classics and disney movie hits. They are the epitome of ideal classical singing and it's absolutely gorgeous. In their most successful and recent video, they performed the "Disney Love Medley" starring Pentatonix member Kirstin Maldonado and her equally talented boyfriend, Jeremy Michael Lewis. The two singing together is as adorable as their relationship. In the medley, the following songs are featured: "I See the Light" from Tangled, "You'll Be In My Heart" from Tarzan and "Go the Distance" from Hercules. The song was arranged by Jamey Ray and directed by Doug Jackson. This is truly a masterpiece and its 2.6M views are there to prove it. When you combine a group of singers equally talented individually, they can make for some really beautiful music together. Personally, the first soprano is giving me life. But I also believe that Maldonado and Lewis have perfect disney style voices that really compliment one another. I also appreciate that the medley is only three songs instead of jamming six or more songs together which can result in a very choppy product. 4:04 is the most beautiful harmony intersection but can we please milk 4:48's note forever. JUST AWESOME. What are your thoughts?

It's Been 10 Years Since HSM1 Launched

What time is it!? Reunion time! Everyone is here, except for Zac Efron...*sobs*. Corbin Bleu, Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Tisdale, Taylor McKessie, and Lucas Grabeel all joined in on the laughs, selfies, and story time. They're all grown up now, not really recognizable to today's youth, however forever remembered by today's college students and adults. After all, we all grew up as East High Wildcats, get'cha head in the game! Rumor has it that Efron did not attend the reunion because Hudgens didn't want him there. Despite his claim that he was too busy promoting his upcoming film, Dirty Grandpa. However, many know that it was a weak excuse since he and Hudgens had a shocking breakup years ago and have since moved on to other partners. It would probably be a strange reunion. "I just love that we all still love each other, and love hanging out with each other, and have that connection, you know?" Tisdale said. "It was a really special moment in our lives." As I type this, the special is airing on Disney Channel with thousands of fans tuning in to reminisce arguably the best movie series that ever came from Disney Channel. Though times have certainly changed, it'll only be a little while longer before a new set of wildcats walk through the doors and become international superstars. The High School Musical franchise can't only remain a memory forever. This could be the start of something new...

La La Land: As Perfect As They Say?

I went into La La Land knowing about the stellar reviews it was given. I'll admit, some scenes were laugh out loud funny and every scene was visually stunning, but there were some moments that made the film seem a little too long for me. I think the director was paying tribute to the old dream of Hollywood but at least two of the musical scenes felt too long :/ However, Emma and Ryan did an amazing job - they were realistic dreamers. Emma, who played a wannabe actress, and Ryan who played a struggling musician, had the dreams and lifestyles of many young people in Hollywood. They moved out to LA with dreams of hitting it big and usually end up with part time jobs and no call backs. They didn't make this seem romantic at all (although Emma had the most amazing wardrobe for a struggling artist that I've ever seen) They fought like a real couple, they loved like a real couple. Overall, I felt that it wasn't a waste of my time. It was a cute story, and the directing (though odd at times) is very different from what we've been seeing in theatres lately. 3.7/5^^ If you have time, watch it, but if you're saving money - just wait til this is on Netflix <3
