China's Hottest Boy Group is Actually a Girl Group?

Meet FFC Acrush.

At first glance you might think they are a talented young boy group, and you're almost correct. The only difference is, all the members were born female.

While most of the members prefer to be called "unisex" or to not have a gender label at all, they all tend to lean towards a more traditionally masculine style.

Their talent boosted them to stardom in China, and its helping redefine gender roles in the country, and perhaps all around the world!

Here are the members:

idk about you but im into it! breaking down gender barriers and stereotypes is always a positive thing in my book.

What are your thoughts?

This is actually the most beautiful thing in the entire world. I love that these beautiful people are breaking barriers and creating a name for themselves and it's inspiring really! People that look up to the members of this group can look at them and feel a connection and it's super cool
yeah i agree this is so cool and especially in China where it's more strict on how a girl should act or do things
I might become a lesbian. lol
I hope this won't offend anyone but wtffff they actually look like guys👀👀 damnnnn I love them already their music is good!!
I love them
Not only can theses lovely ladies dance, sing, and rap, but also all of them know how to play soccer. I was watching a documentary of the company that they work for and turns out that every trainee that enters the company has to learn how to play soccer. Its a marketing strategy that they came up with in order to get the attention an approval of the president of China.

My Asian Pop Playlist (minus the K-pop) (jiggzy19) part 2/2!!!!!
Hi!!! Ok so this is the second half of my "Asian Pop Playlist" if you haven't seen the first part you can check it out here....if you want to! ^^ Alright lets get started!!! GJ - Want to Say This song is from the Taiwanese drama "Murphy's Law of Love." I totally recommend this to all drama fans. I normally only watch K-dramas, but this one has been so refreshing! I'm enjoying it so freakin much!!! You can watch it HD and subbed on DramaCool Bii - I'm Still Missing You As I have mentioned in my previous card, I totally love this guys voice!!! <3 Isaac 365 - LỖI ĐỊNH MỆNH (Ngày Nảy Ngày Nay OST) I might have a slight obsession with V-Pop, Isaac is one of the reasons why lol :P His voice in this song is totally DAE to the BAK!!! Will 365 - Sexy Lady One of the other reasons I love V-Pop is this guy, this song is so FUN!!! I recommend it for all your dance parties \(^O^)/ (a.k.a me in the garage with Matty XD @MattK95 !) MIN from ST.319 - Lost (Feat. MR.A) Yes this is more V-Pop, I love it okay... No judging ^-^ This song is totally catchy, I had to beg @MattK95 to not use this on his playlist, so that I could use it, thanks for not using it Matty *\(^-^)/* <3... why was I begging... I found this song first... (O_O#) Della Wu - Palm (Warrior Lan Ling OST) LOVE this!!! Does anyone want to walk in wherever the hell it is that she is walking, wearing that pink dress thingy with cherry blossoms raining down around you??? \(0.0) [Alexandros] - Famous Day I am a fan of these guys :D They have a completely unique sound, and the encouraging messages they use in their lyrics sometimes!!! Da Mouth - Funky (Feat. Pauline Lan) FUNKY~~~! I don't know if you know this or not, but rollerskating is actually not a simple task... (I'm not talking about rollerblading here) So shout out to the girl in this for making it look so easy and awesome! The older lady in this seems a little bit like the Asian Madonna XD Still a great song though^^ I added the dance version incase anyone wants to learn it, cause it's actually awesome, and not as easy as it looks... Yes, I have tried it :3 Da Mouth - Loser Despite what you might be thinking this was actually filmed this year... They just wanted to make it look like it was from way back when lol Hello legwarmers!!! lol. actually my Mom was wearing a pair when she first met my Dad, she was doing the dishes, cute right?! XD I feel I should also mention that their new album is called "Back to the Future" which is the reason both this song and "Funky" have such an older feel to them :) I still completely love it though ^^ Isaac - Mr. Right This MV just came out yesterday, and because you can never have enough Isaac in your life, I thought I'd share it... You can tell by now I'm a fangirl over him can't you... anyway... this song makes me want to put glitter on speakers, and dance around. Pretty simple dance, or at least it sort of has an "I'm too cool to waste a lot of energy on this" feel to it, but I still havent mastered it yet... I can assure you that I will though ^^ Hey Matty I know you are jealous that I got to add this to my playlist... you should have waited for it to come out lol... in your face! (Sisterly love XD) but seriously sucked in :P Credit to the owners of all these MVs and Photos. (I DO NOT own any of these MVs or photos!) Thanks for reading and listening Bye Bye Chu~ XOXO
The Soundtrack to Life - Playlist Challenge!!!
Yes my peeps, it is time for another challenge, and this time it might be very tough for some of you, but before I get into that, I would like to thank @nenegrint14 for her challenge of a workout playlist. It was a lot of fun, so thank you ^^ This time our challenge is going to be a little different... (Que dramatic cartoon music) So the basic theme is Asian Pop, but... ...This time... ...There is no K-Pop allowed!!!... (More dramatic cartoon music) I know what you might be thinking... But I think this challenge will be fun ^^ This idea comes from my beautiful little sister @jiggzy19 Her reasoning behind this is to help broaden everyone's musical horizons, and to challenge you to discover something new ^^ Side Note: It cannot be a Korean artist singing in another language, these people have to be from an Asian country other than Korea, and their music can't be in Korean!! Now, we understand that not everyone is knowledgeable about other artists in the Asian Pop world, so we thought we would give you a short list of Artists you can check out and then you guys can go hunting from there ^^ So here are a few to check out \(^o^)/ Perfume Japanese Electro Pop at it's best! If you want to see everyone's awesome playlists, or catch up on past ones or any you may have missed, you can follow the collection >>here<< if you want to :D Here are the rules in case you are new to this :D 1. You create a playlist according to the given theme. 2. You can use any Asian music you like, doesn't just have to be K-Pop, but it must be relevant. 3. You can basically add as many songs as you like, (has to be more than 2) the normal amount is about 10 songs. 4. Remember to tag me (@MattK95) in you card so that I will definitely see it and clip it to "The Soundtrack to Life" collection, and tag the person who came up with the playlist theme, in this case (@jiggzy19) that will change with every playlist theme though! 5. Be as creative as you wish, and have fun!!!!! \(^O^)/ here are some awesome examples :) StephanieDuong's Workout Playlist Harmonico's Intro to K-Pop Playlist Miss148's Intro to K-Pop Playlist Danidee's Favorites by Favorites Playlist Credit to the owners of these Photos, Links, and gifs ^^
China Bans Funeral Strippers
The Chinese government is in the news this week as the country's ministry of culture announces that they will "crack down on 'stripping' and other acts of illegal business performance market". The statement was released after controversial videos were circulated featuring paid strippers disrobing in front of parents and children at a Handan funeral - resulting in arrests and a $11,300 fine. (I know. This is a lot to process.) Apparently, funeral strippers have turned into quite a trend in both China and Taiwan, as the region's bereaved have been shelling out some serious cash to pay for strip shows that can go as long as two-and-a-half hours. According to Everett Zhang, assistant professor of East Asian Studies at Princeton University, funerals in the area are treated like one lavish party, celebrating with as many people as possible to ensure that their loved one is sent off properly to the afterlife. "In China, when the person who dies is very old and has lived a long life, this kind of occasion becomes purely a celebration." But why strippers?! According to China's official Xinhua news agency, strippers are hired "to attract more mourners," adding that these racy performances "add to the fun". Blame it on cultural difference, but I can see why something like this would deserve to be shut down. However, while Zhang sees where this situation could be problematic, he's particularly surprised at the bold measures the government is taking to put an end to it. "Local people would not be happy about the arrests. That would be really intrusive and offensive." So what do you think? Should the Chinese government be allowed to arrest and fine the bereaved hiring funeral strippers, or should it be left to the family's discretion? Let me know in the comments below, and for more WTF news, follow my WTF Street Journal collection.
The Real Reason for Supernatural Concepts
Remember back in 2013 when Kpop went into full supernatural concept mode? From EXO's Wolf, VIXX's On & On, Boyfriend's Bounce, etc, etc... there were vampires, aliens, werewolves galore. Nowadays in 2016, though, we're seeing a rise to realism. BTS dealing with drugs (I Need U) or Monsta X dealing with totalitarianism (All In) But, why? "Zombies are the perfect metaphor." (source) Basically, using the supernatural has always been a way of talking about real life issues, without actually bringing them up. For example, in Harry Potter House Elves would represent slaves, the discrimination and fear of werewolves represented how ridiculous racism is, etc. Fiction allows us to talk about important issues in a sly way. For example, VIXX's Hyde portrayed them as vampire-like, living in a spooky house and dark forest, growing black wings and almost being taken over by a monster. At its core, this is a song about dangerous relationships. A partner who is emotionally unstable, but charming. Hurting you but begging to have you back. This can be a metaphor for abusive relationships of all kinds. They repeat over and over that "that man isn't me, there is a crazy 'other me' inside of me." Just as abusers usually do after a moment of violent anger. Hiding this message behind the mask of "monsters" and "dark angels" makes it easier to consume and talk about. But take away the supernatural and its a serious issue they bring up. Another great example is Monster by Big Bang. They dress up as literal monsters, but talk about how just because they are different and not fitting into the society's mold they aren't bad people. It's an anthem for misfits, and a message to society to stop being so cruel. So why are we shedding the costumes now? Why are things suddenly more...real? We're done hiding. The problems can no longer stay hidden, we need to talk about them. No more using vampires and ghosts as metaphors, the general public is more comfortable discussing issues like depression, drugs, mental health, discrimination, etc. The move to realism means that we're being realistic about the problems - we're addressing them head on. That being said, there is nothing wrong with supernatural concepts being used to talk about issues! Often people can't understand something in its original form. For example, maybe someone doesn't see the need for LGBTQ+ rights. Give them a love story with a couple that is forced apart, never to be together (perhaps a vampire and a human??) because society says its unnatural. If while reading the story or watching the movie, that person feels upset about this poor couple torn apart by society, maybe they will see the correlation between their belief that gay marriage is wrong. Basically, I think that the constant changing of concept trends is fascinating and it means much more than we think!
If I Had To Live Without K-Pop (Playlist Challenge part 2)
Here goes the second part of my playlist ^^ If you havent seen the first part of this playlist you can check it out >>here<< If you want to see more of the awesome playlists from this challenge and other challenges you can check them out >>here<< 20. Landy Wen - Fly With Me The title track from a current Taiwanese drama "Murphy's law of Love" which I might add I am loving every single minute of, I reccomend it to anyone, It's so awesome, a bit like this song is, I am in love with this song, Check it out, you won't be dissapointed ^^ 21. Ayumi Hamasaki - Last Minute I Love Ayumi Hamasaki so much!!! I wasn't expecting the point in this song where the electric guitars kick in, but I still really enjoyed it :) This MV also has one of the coolest uses of lighting I have ever seen, just watch it you'll see what I mean ^^ 22. Da Mouth - Swag (Warning lotta booty...) My favorite Taiwanese group ^^ First I would like to apologise for the amount of... booty shaking in this MV, if you can get past that it's a pretty awesome song! Plus the stylistic use of the color pop against a black and white background is so cool!!! 23. Andrew Tan - Imperative (Feat. Bii) I found this song on iTunes thanks to @jiggzy19 who introduced me to Bii, I love this song so much, you guys are really missing out if you haven't heard Bii or Andrew Tan before. 24. Weibird Wei - Mask Ok so when I first watched this MV I was a little confused, but after watching it a few times I came to this understanding: All the different people you see the main girl with, are all meant to represent a different "Mask" or persona that he uses to portray himself as perfect infront of the girl he likes, at the end of the MV, he finally decides to take off the "Masks" and let her know who he really is... I really like this song, and am currently wondering why it is not on my iPod... (I don't know why but this guy reminds me of a cross between Wu Yi Fan and Eric Nam XD) 25. Hebe Tien - Insignificance Well this MV certainly qualifies as artistic, something about this song is almost entrancing... Or maybe it's just the fact I think she's really pretty XD Sort of a strange song, but I still really enjoy it :) 26. Jay Chou - Rhythm of the Rain Not gonna lie guys, got a little bit teary during this song... All I'm going to say is I really love this song, and this MV is really sweet :) 27. Hari Won - Hương Đêm Bay Xa And now I am going to introduce you to a few awesome V-Pop (Vietnamese Pop) songs 3 to be exact XD I love this song, definitely one of my favorite V-Pop songs ^^ Thankyou @jiggzy19 for showing me this :) 28. MIN from ST. 319 - Y.Ê.U (EDM Version) This song is so cool! I really enjoy everything about this, not sure what else to say other than the fact I love her purple hair :D I hope you like it :) 29. MIN from St. 319 - Shine Your Light (Feat. Justatee) This song came out 3 days ago, and I fell in love with it the moment I heard it, Please tell me I'm not the only one who loves this ^^ 30. Wang Leehom - Cracked Heart Well this is my final song, I could have done many many more, but unfortunately time is a factor, and it's getting rather late... Anyway I hope you enjoy this song, It's another one of those songs I find so entrancing to listen to, I find myself playing it over and over while lost in thought XD Oh and I like his shoes... I need a pair of those lol Well that is it for my Non-Kpop playlists I will have the new challenge posted soon^^ Let me know what you thought of these songs :) Credit to the owners of these music videos!!! @jiggzy19
