Happy holidays!!
"Don't tell me you are working on Christmas day again...?" My best friend looks at me with disapproval.

"Well yeah, I am. And you know I don't really do the whole Christmas thingy" I shrugged

"Lena, you do realised that people will be ok without you working on Christmas right?"

"It's more to do with me wanting to work" I said in my defence.

"Please please... join my Christmas party this year. It's been 3 years honey. You need to let go and get back to world of living" Liz said thoughtfully.

------------------

Christmas was always something I looked forward to but that was 3 years ago. My favourite holiday became a painful memory when I lost my Matt to an accident. What was more painful was the fact that he was on his way to meet me despite the heavy snowing that day. The very day he was going to propose me. I didn't know until, the police hand over to me the ring which they found in his pocket.

Christmas was never the same again. The holiday season became the tough times and I throw myself into work to distract myself from the memory. My family and frens tried to help me move on but I couldn't bring myself to let it go.

Liz Park who is my anchor and best friend tried setting me up on dates numerous times with really decent guys but I never felt connected with any of them to actually date them. She finally gave up seeing how pointless it was.

My life practically revolved around my work, the little boutique I owned and my little guy Benji. The store was getting busier with the holidays right up the corner. I had to come in most of the time myself as the store was short staffed.

"I will try but you know, most of my staffs are off for the holidays. I can't ask them to come in, they know I always cover during the holidays" I told Liz

"I know but it wouldn't hurt for you to close early and join my party right?. Honey it would really mean so much to me. I need your support this time. Max's folks will be here this year and you know how picky they can be. I need you..." Liz groan and I could hear the desperation in her voice.

"OK OK I will join but I be coming in a little late. Is that OK?" I asked.

"YAAAAZz as long as you come, I'm more than happy..." Liz screamed excitingly which had people looking at our direction. I laughed and told her to pip down.

"OK now that's settled, I got to run. My little humans will be coming back soon" Liz said as she gets up to give me a hug before rushing out.

"I'll see you soon honey, I love you" Liz wave from the door. I waved back and collected my stuffs before heading over to pay.

I walked down the snowy path admiring the beautiful Christmas decorations which was all over the streets and buildings. Memories of Matt came rushing but I brush it off telling myself, it really was time to let it go. I reached the store and the girls were almost done for the day. I told them to pack up and leave as the temperature was dropping and I didn't want to them to get stuck in the cold.

30 minutes after the girls left, I decided to close for day and went to put up the "CLOSED" sign when someone pulled the door. I looked up to see a very good looking stranger standing there. I was about to tell him that we were already closing for the day when...

"I'm sorry, I know you are closing but it's kinda an emergency, can you please help me out" he smiled pleadingly.

I stood there lost for words for few seconds. I have seeing good looking man but this stranger had something about him that caught me off caught...

"Well...?" the stranger asked again.

I shooked my head..."Of course, please come in" I said stepping aside. He walked in and looked around the store.

"I'm not really sure what do get, can you suggest me something good" he asked.

"What are you looking for? Anything in particular?" I asked.

"Well, I need something appropriate for a formal dinner this weekend" he replied.

"You mean for a Christmas dinner"? I asked.

"Right, it's Christmas dinner" he nodded.

"Oh OK...let me just pick some stuffs and you can let me know if you like it" I replied walking towards the formal section. I selected a couple of stuffs and walked back to show him.

"Can you try this on and see if you like it" I said

"Sure..." he said taking the cloths from me to try it.

I waited for him to come out from the fitting room. After some few minutes, he came out wearing the suit. The bow tie on his hands. "Can you help me with this?" he asked.

"Sure" I said a little flustered from how good he looks in the suit. It fitted him perfectly. He had the body and looks of a runway model but I was pretty sure he wasn't one as he came in a business suit and he sure looks like he got out of a long tired meeting. I couldn't help but wonder what he actually does.

I took the bow tie from him and found myself struggling on my toes to get the tie on him. He gave a small chuckled and bend down so I could fixed it it comfortably.

"There you go" I said looking up and our eyes met. We just stood there looking at eachother until reality hit me and I hurriedly looked away and step aside.

"What do you think?" I asked a little nervous.

"I love it" the stranger smiled. He had the Sexiest smile and I couldn't help smiling back at him.

"Well, I'm glad to hear" I replied. "Do you want to check some more design or you will stick to this?"

"No I'm good with this" he replied

"OK great, I'll get it packed then" I said collecting the suit from him.

"Well, thank you so much for the help and I'm sorry for making you wait" the stranger said as I handed over the bag.

"No, No it's alright. I'm glad I could help" I said smiling at him.

"Btw, my name is 'Taehyung, Kim Taehyung but all my friends call me V" the stranger said.

"Oh...good to meet you V, I'm Lena" I replied extending my hand.

"Good to meet you too, Lena" V said giving me warm handshake.

Before pushing out of the door, he turned back and said "I really hope to meet you again Lena"

I smiled and waved at him "I hope so too, have a good night Mr.Kim"

I watched him get into car and drove off. I turn off the lights and finally close the store and walk home which was just in the next lane.

My little furry came running to greet me. I picked him up "I miss you too little guy" and gave him a hug.

Took a quick shower and prepared dinner with little Benji tailing me everywhere. After dinner we sat down for our favourite show. Benji was snoring in minutes. After the show was over, I tucked Benji in his tiny bed which was right besides mine. I lay down to sleep but I couldn't help thinking of V which really surprised me. It's been a very very long time since I had thoughts of other guys other than Matt.

My mind keep going back to the moment when our eyes met and the feeling that it resulted. I had never felt anything like that before for anyone besides Matt. I shooked my head and told myself, the chances of meeting V again was unlikely and moreover a guy like him won't never be single or attracted to me. I told myself to stop having unnecessary thoughts and slowly drifted off to sleep.

I woke up to another cold day. The weather seems to get colder each day. There was high chances of roads blockage soon at this rate. I pour myself a hot cup of coffee and looked out of the balcony. The whole street was covered with snow. Little Benji gave a little bark of disapproval.

"I know, I know you want to go out there but it's too cold for you to go sweetheart" I told the little guy who was wagging his tail and waiting for me to pick him up. I laughed and scoop him up and let him peep through the window.

I called the girls and told them not to come until the New Years as they all stayed a little far away from the store. I didn't want them to get stuck on the way as the roads are most likely to closed with the current rate of snowing.

By 10ish I reached the store, the day was hectic with just me managing it but it kept me distracted from unwanted memories. I closed the store early as I had to get groceries and do a quick shopping for Liz dinner party.

Liz party was like the party of the year with all the big guys attending it. Liz was married to mayor's only son Max who now owns one of the biggest law firms in the state. I avoided the party all this years coz it reminded me of Matt who I first met at one of Liz's party. But I had promised Liz I would come this time and I couldn't back out now.

I caught a taxi to go and check out some dresses at the shops which was down the street. I managed get something I liked and headed to the grocery mart.

The last place I expected to bumped into V was at grocery mart but there he was. I hadn't seen him coming towards me as I was busy trying to get something from the top shelves.

"Need a hand" Someone chuckled from behind. I turn around to meet the very set of beautiful eyes. My jaw probably dropped seeing him coz I saw V break into huge grin at my reaction.

"I'm sorry, I quickly muttered" cringing at the thought of how silly I must have looked.

"Hey stranger, good to meet you again" he smiled.

"Hey yourself. Didn't expect to meet you again and definitely not here" I blurt out.

He laughed, "I love cooking so you'll probably find me hanging around here time to time"

He picked the item off the top shelf and gave it to me. "Do you need more stuffs up there?"

"No and thanks for this" I said

"Are you done or you have more things to grab?" V asked.

"Nope...I'm done. Just need to pay" I replied quickly.

"OK let's go" V said pushing my cart.

"Oh I can do that myself..." I said trying to take over the cart.

"No worries, com'n it's getting too cold. Let's get this done and get you home"

I didn't know how to react to it so I followed him to the counter to pay. V collected my stuffs and headed out.

"Wait, where are you going?" I asked confused.

"To my car...I'll drop you" he said simply like it was the most natural thing in the world.

"What? No no no...it's OK. I can just grab a cab and get home. It's not far from here" I said hurriedly.

"Hey hey...let me do this. It's my second day of Christmas". V laughed.

"Really? You don't seem that sentimental type" I replied.

"Huh! What kind of guy do I look like, Lena" V asked amused raising his eyebrows.

"Well...I don't know but you just don't seem the sentimental kind" I shrugged. "Anywho, I'm really OK. You don't need to drop me home. I'm a big girl and I can get myself home" I laughed.

"Let's just say it's for inconveniencing you last night" V said smiling and giving me the puppy face

"Gwad...don't pull that on me" I laughed. "For starters I don't know, know you. You could be a serial killer or something ya know" I teased.

"Well, I guess you will have to find that out missy. Would you take a chance on me?" V asked grinning.

"Hmmmm...can't say no to that smile, can I?" I asked.

"You tell me" and gave me another heart melting smile again.

"OK OK you got me, lets go" I laughed.

Took us about 10 mins to get to my place. I asked him if he wanted to come up for a quick coffee. It was the least I can do. He helped me carring the stuffs up.

"You have a nice place" V commented as I usher him in.

"Why...thank you" It's my old family home actually. My folks moved to a different city. So it's just me and my little guy". That very moment, little Benji came running.

"There's my little guy" I cooed as I picked him up for a hug. "Here, meet my new friend V" I said waving his tiny paw.

"Hey little fella...good to meet you" V said shaking his tiny paw. "Looking after your mama well eh?" he laughed.

To my surprise, little Benji seems to give V a pass coz normally, he was the possessive one especially around male folks. I looked at him and asked if likes dogs and he told me he was big fan of dogs. I thought, well that scores brownie points in my book.

"So...you want coffee or hot cocoa?" I asked

"Cocoa will do" V responded still busy playing with Benji.

B

enji seems to be happy to have someone new to play with. I smiled and went to make the hot cocoa.

We talked as we drank the hot cocoa. V said, he had recently moved to the neighbourhood for sometime due to work. I never really asked what exactly he does. It was really not my business and its not like I'll be seeing him again.

"Well, I gotta rush. Have some work to catch up before Christmas. Thank you for the lovely drink" he smiled.

"No...thank you. You were a big help. Thanks for dropping me and helping we the groceries" I replied.

"Anytime...well then. I hope to see you again" V said as Benji and I saw him off. "I hope so too" I waved.

The week went by without any sign of the him and Liz's big party was tonight. The snowing had gotten heavier and I dreaded the thought of going out in this weather.

I shut the store early so I could go home and prepare myself for the party. Benji was there as usual giving the warmest welcome.
"Sweetheart, I wish I could take you too but I can't" I looked at his little torn face of disappointment.

"I know, I know but I promise to be back home soon and we can have our own special time" I laughed rubbing his fluffy ear. That seems to pleased the little guy. I went in for a quick shower and got dressed. I had bought a simple red dress keeping in mind the color of Christmas.

30 mins and I was on my way down to Liz's place. As I reached, I couldn't help admiring the beautiful house which was now lighted up with lights. I walked in and the place was already buzzing with people. Liz saw me and rush over to give me a hug.

"Honey, I'm so glad to you could make it. This means a lot to me" Liz said.

"I'm happy to be here and the place looks great. Love your Christmas decorations. You never fail to impress me lady" I replied still awestruck at the beautiful set up.

"You flatter me!" Liz laughed. "OK...let go and meet my folks. They have been asking about you"

We went over to meet Liz parents and her in-laws. "Lena dear, its been a while. We're so glad you could make it this year" Mrs Park said giving me a hug. She asked me about my work and my folks. We talk for sometime and then Liz pulled me out saying she was going to introduce me to someone.

"Liz, please don't tell me, this was your plan all along" I sighed.

"Trust me Lena, you won't be disappointed. Good that I'm happily married to love of my life else, I would have taken him myself" Liz laugh.

"Really! This dude must be really something to impress my best friend this much. I'm really curious now" I said laughing.

"Just wait and yeah you can thank me later" Liz flipped her hair.

"There they are..." Liz said point at Max who was talking with a guy. He had his back was on us so I couldn't really see his but he looked familiar. He certainly stand out from the rest of crowd for sure,  I thought. Wait, that suit looks familiar. Max saw us coming and he came ovet and gave me a hug.

"Lena! So good to see you..." Max said and then turn to the stranger who was beside him.

"Meet Taehyung, Kim Taehyung. He is the new CEO of Hit Entertainment branch here and also our newest client"

"Nice to meet you again Lena" he said giving that boyish smile.

"Wait! You guys met already??" Liz asked surprised and giving me that girl-you-and-I-need-to-talk look!!

"Well...yeah about a week ago, twice actually. He came into my store the first time and then I bumped into him the next day at the mart" I said skipping the hot cocoa part coz I knew Liz would go hyper over it.

"Well, third time is a charmer they say" Liz winked. Everyone laughed. We sat down and talked. That's when I came to know about V's work and his company which was supposedly one of the biggest upcoming entertainment companies in South Korea...

The party was going great and everyone seems to be having a good time. The live music was pretty awesome and many had gone to the dance floor to dance. Beautiful couples everywhere which could have made an awkward scene in my case. Thankfully, V stuck around and kept me company. I felt bad for him, it was like he was stuck with me for courtesy sake. I noticed a number of young ladies eyeing him since he got here.

"You know, you don't have to stick around with me right?" I told V. "Go and mingle, I'm sure the ladies out there would love your company"

"Why? Are you trying to get rid of me now?" V asked looking at me.

"What! No no...don't get me wrong. I love your company. I'm just saying you can always go and joined other ya know" I replied.

"Well, I good here" V smiled. "Hmmmm...would you join me for a dance?"

"I'm not great at..." before I could complete my sentence. Someone came over, "Mine if I steal him away for a dance?" The girl asked.

"Of course, you don't need to asked me. We're not together" I smiled. "Please go ahead" I said.

V gave me a strange look before getting up and following the girl to the dance floor. I watch the pair dance and it didn't sit well with me how the girl had her hands around V neck.

"Not liking what you see?" Liz said. I jumped, caught by her sudden appearance. "Huh...no, why would it I?" I said quickly.

"Then why is your face all grim watching them?" Liz asked.
"I did not"
"Oh yes you did!. You didn't even notice me coming over" Liz said laughing.

"Ok...maybe I was a little" I said admitting it. "But its crazy, why would I, right?"

"Well maybe, you kinda like him?" Liz peered at me.

"Of course not...we just met psst!" I exclaimed

"Technically, this is your third time meeting and I say it's fate" Liz said thoughtfully "Honey...its OK for you to like someone. I know you loved Matt but he is no more and I'm sure he would want you to find someone to love and be happy"

"Well....I hope so too" I said sadly "But I don't think it's with him" I said looking at V's direction. "He won't be here for long and let's be realistic, he's on another level. Look at him and to top that, our lives are too different" I shrugged.

"Love doesn't have a timeline. It can happen to anyone, anytime. It could be a day, months or years but when you meet that one person you are meant to be, it will strike you before you even realised it" Liz said. "Give it a chance and don't close yourself to the feelings"

I smiled and gave Liz a hug "Thank you. I don't know what I do without you"

"Don't get teary on me now lady. People will think I'm being mean to you" Liz teased. We laughed and toast to our friendship.

"Care for a dance with me?" I looked up to see V standing beside me.

"ahhmmm...of course!" I said taking his hand. "Excuse me for a bit" I said to Liz. She have me the biggest grin and nodded her head. When I turned back, she gave me a thumbs-up and mouthed 'go get him'. I rolled my eyes and followed V to dance floor.

The floor was a little crowded. So V pulled me closer and we slowly swing to 'It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas'.

"I told you I'm bad a this" I whispered when I stumbled a little.

"Don't worry sweetheart, you can stumble anytime. I'm here" he said pulling me closer. I looked up and smile. I found myself relaxing and enjoying the dance when suddenly, the lights went out and I heard Liz voice.

"Ladies and gentlemen...thank you for joining me and my family tonight. We have a special surprise for everyone" Slowly, beautiful glimmering lights began to appear from the ceiling and the spot where we stood had a gaint Miseltoe above. I stared at it and frozed.

"Looks like we found the lucky couple tonite!" Liz said grinning. I looked at her suspiciously and all she did was give me that stupid grin. People around us cheered.

"Wait, what is going on?" I looked to V confused.

"I guess we are supposed to Kiss, it's a tradition right!" V said grinning and before I could react, he bend down and kissed me. It was a gentle kiss at first, then he slowly deepend the kiss like he was trying to give me assurance, a promise.

I heard someone say "they make such a lovely couple"  I looked up and saw V smiling. I guess he too heard the comment. He didn't let me go and ask if we can step out for sometime as the dance floor was filling up again. I nodded and he guided me out of the dance floor. We came out to what looks like a garden which was decorated with lights. There seems to be no one around. It was a little chilly, so I hugged myself.

"Thank you for the beautiful time" I said turning to V. "It's been a while since I had a good time" I smiled.

"I'm glad, I did too" V smiled. Then he step closer and said "I know we haven't gotten to know eachother well but I feel like I have known you all along" I just stood there looking at him saying nothing.

"What I meant was, I really like you...I can't stop thinking about you since the first time I saw you. I know it sounds cliche, but it true..." I said nothing

"Hmmm...I don't mean to scared you away. Look I'm not rushing anything. Its just that I want to get to know you more. Of course that is, if you want to..." I started to smile

"I'm really doing a poor job in this, am I?" V asked seeing my expression.

I smiled and tip toe up and kissed him. V looked at me surprised and relieved at the same time.

"I would love to get to know you more and yes, I think I do like you very much" I smiled. Before I knew it, V picked me up and twirled. I laughed and kissed him again.

He slowly puts me down, not letting me go, he said "I love you Lena". I looked at him and taking a leap of faith said "I love you too mister". He smiled and leaned over and kissed me softly. I knew then, I had my Christmas miracle right here. I sent a silent thank you to Matt for looking over me all this time. Now it's time let him go....

"Let's go inside, I don't want Liz and Max thinking we abandoned their party" V said.

"Yep, let's go in" I replied.

V put his arms around me and we walk inside.

Somewhere inside,

"I knew they were meant for eachother" Liz smiled as she lean her head on her husband's shoulder watching Lena and V from the window. "It's a Christmas miracle..." Max replied. He leaned over and kiss his beautiful wife."I love you honey. You were my Christmas miracle too

------------------------

"Too bad, you have to let go all the beautiful ladies here" I teased.

"Nope I have the one I want right here" V said pulling me to the dance floor. "I saved my last dance for you" he whispered.

I knew exactly why I felt for this man....

Happy Holidays everyone!!

Tips to spice up your romantic life
When comfort gets in through the door, romance walks out the window. This is the case with most couple who have been together for a long time. For a happy, healthy and satisfied life, it is important to keep things exciting in and out of the bedroom. We have a few tips just for that. Try out these ideas to bring the romance back into your life. Get messy together Messy, careless sex usually is just preferred in hotel rooms to avoid the clean-up later on. So romance at home getting a little boring or monotonous doesn’t come as a surprise. Occasionally getting messy together is actually a great idea to add some spice in your bedroom. You could start with edible paint, chocolate sauce, maple syrup, honey or any other sweet and drippy substance. If you have an open space like a private balcony or terrace, this could work great making the clean-up easy as well. Vibrating panties in public This is a very fun (and mildly risky) activity to try. Buy a pair of vibrating panties that are remote operated and make your partner wear them in public. Go for regular chores such as grocery shopping and have a lot of fun making them squirm and struggle to hide the pleasure. Tease them at work The build-up is as important as the main act. So why not pay more attention to it. Often, in busy routines, sex is only limited to getting straight to the point. Instead, start building up from the beginning of the day itself. Dress up sexy and send pictures to your partner at work. Or don’t wear anything at all. Send flirty messages. If they are working from home, or playing a game, or on the phone with someone, just wrap yourself in a towel and flash them. Keep them on the edge for the entire day until they are horny up to the brim. And then just watch them jump right into bed as soon as the day is over. Play competitive games You don’t always need to buy special equipment to keep things exciting. Use regular games with a fun twist. Play scrabble, ping pong, carom, snakes and ladders, etc. For each losing move, one partner has to strip one layer of clothing. We can assure you the game will get super interesting as both the parties struggle to focus on the game instead of the half-naked partner sitting in front of them. There are also sex card games for couples that make playing a lot more fun than you can imagine. Be spontaneous Ditch the planned sex routine. Do it unexpectedly. Change the rooms, timing, etc. Do it when you are least in the mood. Focus more on playing with each other rather than simply the main act of sex. Engage in quickies in public restrooms or dressing rooms. Elevator make-outs are also very thrilling and anxiety-building. Spank their ass in public when they’re unaware and see their reaction. Wake up with a mouthful Waking up getting or giving oral is a very commonly talked about act of sex, but is often the most neglected one in long-term relationships. People wake up tired and too lazy to get into any such action. We suggest you do it at least twice a week and see how your day changed drastically. Get down on your partner while they’re sleeping and don’t stop till they’re up moaning your name. Make it a truly ‘good’ morning. Dial up the kink Many people have misconceptions that sex toys are only pleasurable for girls. Man, you are in for a big surprise! Get some toys for the two of you and your sex life will never be the same again. Dildos, vibrators, penis rings, etc. can be used to add the missing element in your bedroom as you try the foreplay games. The whole point is to keep it exciting and unplanned. Predictability often leads to monotony and boredom. Break that streak and see the fun walking right back into your life.

Title: Friendship Contract Genre: Romance, Comedy Word Count (For Part One): 4,572 Parts: Part One, Part Two, Part Three, Part Four Rating: PG-13 (for mentions of alcohol, profanity, mentions of sex (however there is no smut)) Main Characters: Kang Hyunggu (Kino), Lee Jina(OC) Minor Characters: Yan An, Kim Hayoung(OC), Jung Wooseok, Adachi Yuto, Lee Jiyoon(OC), Kim Dayeon(OC) (Even smaller appearances by Yeo Changgu(Yeo One) |Because this story is so long I've divided it into FOUR parts. Each part will come out over the next four days~| Disclaimer: I do not claim all of this storyline to be mine, as I relied heavily on the plot-line from the movie 'To All The Boys I've Loved Before' but not all of the plot-line is from that movie. PS: Go watch that movie, it's amazing! Also if you notice any mistakes please let me know! Part One: Jiyoon laughs. “Jina when are going to branch out?” I sigh, I didn’t need to. My older sister, Jiyoon was always nagging me about making more friends. It was so annoying. I was fine with just Hayoung as a friend. “Maybe when you stop asking.” I scoff back. I liked my simple life. “What happens whenever college comes around? You’ll be alone again? Don’t you want to know how to make friends for that reason.” She states crossing her arms over her chest. I roll my eyes. “Oh like it’s that hard to make a friend.” She snorts. “If it’s not that hard then why don’t you have more friends?” My eyes flit to her to send her a glare. “It’s not that it’s hard. I just don’t want to.” It was her turn to roll her eyes. “Want to make a bet?” I huff. “Are you serious?” She nods. “How about if you can make at least one more friend in a month I’ll not only stop bugging you about this, I’ll even buy you front row seats to see Astro.” My eyes widen. Front row seats? I bring my hand to my lip to bite on one of my fingernails. I loved Astro so much and I’ve only seen them once. Moonbin was my love. “Oh, and I’ll even buy two meet and greet passes to throw in.” She shrugs out of the corner of my eye. I swallow. There had to be a catch though, right? “And what if I lose?” I question her. Not that I was giving in or anything... She hums. “I’ll just have the self-satisfaction that I was right that you suck at making friends. That you’re too shy.” I really didn’t want to agree to this but there was a gnawing feeling in my gut. One that had me wanting to agree instantly. “Okay deal. No backing out!” I turn to face her. She laughs. “Oh my god you’re actually agreeing to this? I wasn’t expecting you to.” “Shut up, you’d best be saving up.” I huff rushing past her. - In my room I pace back and forth nervous about how I was going to pull this off. I pull out my phone and pull up Hayoung’s contact. I dial her quickly. She answers shortly after. “What’s up?” “I need help!” I say desperately. “Okay?” “I made a bet with Jiyoon that I could make another friend in a month in order to get Astro tickets.” I say quickly. “Holy shit, no way!” She laughs. “Yeah...so like what should I do?” I frown into the phone. “How am I going to make a friend in that short amount of time?” I shouldn’t have made it sound so easy! “There’s a party tonight? That’s a perfect place to meet friends, maybe you could drink some to ease your nerves too?” She suggests. A party? That wasn’t my scene. Drinking as well? Never done that before, probably wasn’t a good idea. But at this point I was up for anything in order to get those tickets. “Okay let's do it.” “Oh my god, where did the real Lee Jina go?” Hayoung states shocked. “Never mind forget I said that. I’m on my way to pick you up, get ready!” - Hayoung arrives thirty minutes later, she’s dressed in a short dress that made me do a double take. Hayoung has partied before, but I had never seen her before going. It surprised me to see her like this. She glances down at my school shirt and basketball shorts and sighs. “Good thing I brought something for you to wear.” She shoves me back down the hall. “Huh?” I groan as she shoves me into my room. “Put these on.” She stuffs two articles of clothing into my hand. I glance down at the clothing. It was a matching crop top and skirt. “But can’t I just wear this?” I gesture to my attire. She laughs. “You want to make friends, right?” I frown. “Ugh, fine.” - We pull up to the party and its apparently already in full swing because there were cars everywhere. Hayoung’s brother lets us off up front and leaves us to head to work. As he parts he lectures her to be safe. I almost jump back into the car but he speeds of leaving me in the dust. There was no going back now. I turn to face the house. It was huge. “Whose place is this?” I ask as we step up onto the sidewalk. “Adachi Yuto’s. His parents still live in Japan but they bought this house for him. Apparently, Kang Hyunggu and Jung Wooseok also live here with him.” I nod, she wraps her arm around mine and tugs me to the front door. I raise my hand to knock but she laughs pushing the door open. “You don’t knock, no one would hear you.” “Oh...” I say awkwardly as she drags me inside. - I shouldn’t have made that deal. I have been here for fifteen minutes now and I have absolutely no idea how to even begin to make a friend. Hayoung comes back from the kitchen holding three shot glasses full of alcohol. She smiles and hands me one. “What is this?” I look down. “Don’t know?” She laughs. “Drink it, it’ll take the edge off. But no more than two of those, got it!” “Okay.” I hum before slowly pulling the glass to my lips. The liquid burns as it passes down my throat but I swallow it to get it over with. “God.” I shake my head. That was kind of awful. “One more!” She cheers handing me the third shot glass, holding the two empty one’s in her hand. I quickly down the second one before handing it over to her. “Alright time to make friends! I’m going to leave you be for a bit to kind of force you to talk to other people! Okay!” She cheers. “What?” My eyes widen. “Hayoung!” Her eyes flit over my shoulder. “Oh Yuto!” She glances back at me. “I gotta go!” She rushes off leaving me alone. This sucks. I end up in the kitchen searching for some water but my eyes find more alcohol. I swallow, maybe just a little bit more won’t hurt? I don’t even feel anything yet. I move forward grabbing a bottle of clear alcohol not even bothering reading the name. I wouldn’t even know what it was if I did. I pour a half of a solo cup up and take a couple of sips of it. “Hey there.” Someone is suddenly beside me and I freeze up. I glance in their direction. It was a guy, one I don’t recognize. “Hello.” I murmur. He smiles, “I haven’t seen you around before?” Was that him asking for my name? “Ah, I don’t usually go to these things. I’m Jina.” I manage to add a smile in at the end. He leans forward and I am suddenly uncomfortable. “I’m Jaehyun, it’s nice to meet you Jina.” I nod and quickly start to back up. “Uh, you too.” I awkwardly say back. Suddenly his arm is around my waist tugging me against him. “Oh god.” My eyes widen. I could smell the alcohol on his breath, I never should’ve come tonight. “What do you say we head upstairs? Hmm Jina?” He leans forward and I once again lean my head back as far as he’d allow me to. “No I’m sorry but I’m not looking for...that.” I say trying to inch my way out of his grasp. He chuckles. “Are you playing hard to get?” “Please can you let me go?” I manage to separate myself from him but he moves to step forward again. Someone cuts in between us grabbing a cup. “Oh, I’m sorry, I just really needed a drink.” I glance up and see it was Kang Hyunggu. He was still standing in between the two of us. He was staring in Jaehyun’s direction. “Oh, hey Hyunggu!” Jaehyun’s voice slurs. “I think Jungwoo is looking for you Jaehyun.” Hyunggu says. “Oh is he?” Suddenly Jaehyun is sprinting off. Hyunggu drops his cup and glances at me. “What are you doing here?” Me? Did he know me? I mean yeah, we went to the same school and everything but like Kang Hyunggu was one of the most popular guy’s in school? “I don’t know, I just wanted to try it out for once.” I shrug, I glance down at the still half full cup of liquor in front of me. This was awkward. I pull the cup up to take it all down in one go. I get about two gulps down before he’s pulling the cup away from me. “Hey!” I reach out towards it. He pulls it towards his face and smells it. He shakes his head. “Good god, half a cup of Crown Royal? Have you even drunk before?” I swallow. “No.” He quickly downs the remainder of my cup. “No more to drink, you’re gonna regret drinking what you already have in a bit anyways.” I lean forward. “You’re not my boss.” He snorts. “I’m not, but this is my house.” I pout crossing my arms over my chest. “You’re mean.” He laughs. “She’s already gone, isn’t she?” “I’m not gone, I’m right here.” I say confused. He stifles another laugh, which kind of made me feel giddy inside. Hyunggu’s laugh was beautiful. “Want to dance? Wooseok just put the music on.” He says leaning forward. “I’ve never danced before, is it fun?” He seems surprised. “You’ve never danced?” He tugs on my hand. “There’s a first time for everything.” Out on the dance floor everything around me was a blur, I could manage to make out Hyunggu at times but I mainly just saw a blur. Once the second song ended I slowed to a stop and my legs gave out, a pair of arms catches me before I hit the ground. “This is why I told you you’re gonna regret it.” Hyunggu’s voice echoes in my ear. I look up and come face to face with him. My hand rests on his cheek, I oddly found him handsome all of the sudden. I mean of course I knew he was but I had never looked at him this close before. Hyunggu stares back momentarily before hiking me up bridle style into his arms. “Let’s get you to a bed.” - Hyunggu stumbles up the stairs and down the hall until he’s entering a room and laying me down onto a bed. He leans over me to lay my head down softly. Right at that moment the door swings open and Hayoung’s shoving Hyunggu away from me. “What the hell are you doing?” Hayoung growls glaring at Hyunggu. She yanks me up out of the bed and manages to pull me out of the room. - The next morning, I wake up in Hayoung’s bed. I groan, my head was pounding and I felt so nauseous. I slowly sit up and groan once again. I move my feet to the edge of the bed and stand up. As soon as I’m up I rush to the bathroom to throw up. “Oh god.” I mutter afterwards. My head looms over the toilet confused. What happened last night? I hear footsteps out in the room before they slowly enter the bathroom. “Yah, you fool.” Hayoung growls. My head aches from her voice. “What happened?” I question her. “What the hell did I say about not drinking more than two shots? What else did you drink?” She runs a hand through her hair. I lower my gaze to the toilet again. “I caught you in Kang Hyunggu’s bed.” My head shoots up. “What?” “Yeah you idiot. I said make friends, what did you do? You drank until you almost lost your virginity to Kang fucking Hyunggu!” She huffs. I did what? “I don’t remember that!” I sheepishly say. “Yeah you’re lucky I saw him carry you upstairs. That bitch was totally going to make a move on you, he was leaning over you whenever I burst in!” She begins pacing back and forth. I rack my brain for anything, just something from last night. “No more to drink. Want to dance?” I can faintly remember talking to him. I shiver. Oh my god I am never drinking again. “Thanks, Hayoung for coming to get me.” “Of course, what kind of best friend let’s her friend lose her virginity to Kang Hyunggu. Especially looking the way you did when he carried you upstairs.” What would’ve happened had Hayoung not came to help me? My mind flicks back to the Jaehyun guy trying to make a move on me. And then Hyunggu stepping between us. From what I can remember he didn't seem too bad? - Monday came quickly. This marks 3 days into the month I have to make a friend. I had a feeling I had made a huge mistake making this bet. Someone clears their throat behind me. I turn around confused. There stood Kang Hyunggu. My eyes widen. What was he doing here? “Can I talk to you?” He asks awkwardly. I glance around, a couple of people were staring in our direction so I felt the urge to agree. “Uh yeah, I guess.” I say sheepishly. - We end up down the hall near the library where it was less crowded. “I just wanted to clear any misunderstandings. I didn’t take you to my room to do anything, your legs gave out and it looked as if you were going to fall asleep at any second.” He pauses. “I’m not like that, if I had known you came with a friend I would’ve taken you to her instead.” He wrings his hands together and I bite my lip. I had never seen this side of him before. He always walked around looking confident. Confident and too good for me. This side seemed more human. “I just didn’t want you to feel uncomfortable, and I didn’t want you and your friend to think I’m some monster.” He says lowering his head. “It’s okay.” I stammer out. “I remember how you stepped in and saved me from Jaehyun, so I believe you.” “You do!” He says suddenly a smile cracks on his face. “Mmm.” I hum. “Okay great. I’m really not like that, and if my mom heard that she would kill me. She’s always taught me to respect women.” He laughs awkwardly. I nod. “Thanks for coming to clear the misunderstanding.” “Thank you for listening.” He nods his head. “Okay I’ll be heading to class then.” - “Are you sure he was telling the truth?” Hayoung asks. It seemed that way. She slowly nods. “I mean I guess he wasn’t like in between your legs or anything.” She thinks back. “He was just sitting to the side of you, maybe he was lying you back onto the bed?” I nod. “Maybe.” “Maybe you should still like get a no-contact contract just in case. Like you never know?” “Isn’t that going a little far?” I ask her. She shrugs. “Seems fine to me.” I shake my head. “I’m not going to make things complicated by signing a contract like that.” A contract is all business anyways. It would be annoying to deal with. Plus, they only last so long. Something clicks in my brain. A contract. I could make a friendship contract! I could fake my way into getting those Astro tickets! But who would even sign a friendship contract? My head lifts up to see Hyunggu enter the cafeteria. I lower my gaze. But then lift it back to him. Hyunggu? He would essentially be perfect, he’s popular so it would look like his friends were also mine. Would he be down to do this though? - After school I found myself standing by his locker. He comes around the corner. Yuto at his side but they both stop when they see me. Yuto sends him a look before backing up and around the corner again. Did he even know my name? Or was it just my face? “Can I talk to you?” I ask him. He nods. “Yeah sure, what do you need?” “Not here, I would like it to be more private.” I say glancing around. “Okay?” He says confused. - We ended up outside at one of the picnic tables. He sat across from me. “I have something to say to you.” I work up the courage to ask him. He clears his throat. “Um you aren’t asking me out right?” I snort. “Of course not.” He quickly breathes relieved. “Good because I’m not into dating right now.” I roll my eyes, of course he isn’t. He can mess around with anyone he wants why would he want to date? “I know this is going to sound stupid but will you make a friendship contract with me?” I say looking up at him. “Huh?” He says confused. I sigh. “Look my older sister bet that I couldn’t make a new friend in a month. I don’t plan on losing this bet, so like I need a friend. And I figured this was the best way.” Hyunggu frowns. “Or you could you know try and make a friend?” I shake my head no. “I don’t want to; this friendship contract is what I want.” “What exactly is a friendship contract?” He asks. “It’s basically a fake friendship, one that will end in a month.” I shrug. He seems taken back. “Why don’t you want to make a real friend?” I glance at him. “I just don’t want to.” He seemingly thinks things over for a bit longer. “What do I get out of this?” “I can help you with homework?” I suggest. “I just really don’t want to lose this bet Kang Hyunggu. If I do my sister will never stop bugging me about making friends.” He snorts. “I guess if it’s only for a month I could do it.” I whip my head towards him. “Really?” He nods. “Yeah, oh and I get two more things. I haven’t decided what those are yet but you have to let me do whatever it is I want once I decide!” I glare at him. “Nothing sexual!” He gasps. “You think so lowly of me, Lee.” I roll my eyes. I pull out a piece of paper with some rules on it and place it in front of Hyunggu. He reads it slowly smirking at some of the rules. 1. Hang out often. Sometimes alone, sometimes with others. 2. Go to events together. 3. No falling in love with each other. 4. To be there for each other. 5. Hang out at each other’s places. 6. Introduction to family’s as friends. 7. Jina must help Hyunggu with any homework he needs help with. 8. Contract will end after 1 month. 9. After 1 month the parties do not have to continue being friends. 10. No one should ever know this friendship was contracted/fake. “Add an 11th one about doing whatever I want once I decide what it is.” He shrugs. “Then I’ll sign.” I jot down the new rule and sign my own name on it before sliding it back to him. He shakes his head before signing the paper. “Alright, friend.” I place my hand out for him to shake. He laughs and shakes my hand. “Call me Hyunggu.” “You can call me Jina.” I smile, this wasn’t so bad. - I went home that night and walked my happy ass straight to Jiyoon’s room. I swing her door open and she whips her head towards me. “I have a friend.” I smirk towards her. I mean he was a contracted friend. But still, she’d never know. She laughs. “You expect me to believe that?” I nod. “I do! His name is Kang Hyunggu.” I firmly state. “Isn’t Kang Hyunggu the most popular boy in your class?” She snorts. “Jina you do know that just because you talk to someone doesn’t mean you’re friends?” I scoff. “I’m not an idiot.” I huff pulling my phone from my pocket. “Look I even have his number.” She rolls her eyes. “That proves nothing.” I raise my hands into the air. “What do you want me to do? Call him to prove it?” She hums. “Yeah, call him and invite him over tonight.” My heart almost stops. This soon? I wasn’t expecting to have to introduce him to my family for at least another week. I swallow pulling my phone up to click on his contact information. “Fine I will.” This little shit better answer. I pull the phone to my ear after hitting the call button. It rings twice before he’s answering. “You’re calling already? What you miss me or something?” I could tell he had a smug look on his face even though I couldn’t see him. “Oh hey Hyunggu!” I say, my voice awkwardly raising a few octaves. “You sound weird, is something wrong?” He asks, seeming a bit serious now. I laugh. “No no, well yeah. My sister wants to meet you.” “The one who made the bet with you?” He asks seemingly catching on. “Mmm.” I lock eyes with Jiyoon who seems somewhat surprised I had called him. “Right now?” Hyunggu sighs. “Yeah.” I reply sheepishly. “Send me your address, I’ll be there shortly.” He replies. “Okay awesome!” I reply hanging up. I smirk towards Jiyoon. “He’s on his way.” Her mouth slightly parts open. “I’d better go clean.” Once she’s run past me I quickly type up a message to Hyunggu. I type my address and apartment number in and that my dad and little brother would be here too. I hold my phone to my chest. I was actually super nervous. Hyunggu and I really weren’t friends how were we supposed to act? We weren’t even given the time to go over things about each other. I let out a low sigh before rushing downstairs to wait for him to arrive. Jiyoon was scrubbing the kitchen table when I got downstairs. I stare at her like she’s gone crazy. “Good god why are you cleaning so intensely?” I snort. “You have a guy coming over.” She states. “The house should be clean!” I huff. “For god’s sake it’s just my friend, who gives a shit if the place is clean or not?” She stands up straight. “I do!” The doorbell rings and she freezes. “He’s here already?” I blink confused. Was he? “I’ll go see.” I rush down the hall. I open the door and sure enough Hyunggu was behind the door. He offers me a small smile. “Did you know you live on the same street as my mom?” My mouth drops. “I do?” He nods. “Mmm, she lives in the apartment complex across the street.” He throws his thumb over his shoulder gesturing towards his mom’s place. I guess I was expecting him to come from Yuto’s? “You learn something new every day.” I quickly yank on his arm pulling him inside. “Don’t fuck this up, Kang.” He rolls his eyes. “Keep calling me Kang and you’ll be the one to fuck things up, Jina.” He winks. I send him a small glare before Jiyoon’s voice is interrupting us. “Oh, so he is here!” Jiyoon cheers. I quickly wipe my glare off my face and plant the biggest ass smile I can on my face. Turning around I throw an arm around Hyunggu. “Hey sis, this is my friend Hyunggu.” I bat my eyes up towards Hyunggu, who sends me a what the fuck was I doing look. He snorts under his breath. “Hello, I’m Kang Hyunggu. It’s nice to meet you.” He bows. “You too, I’m Jina’s older sister Jiyoon.” She rushes forward. “Come on in and have a seat!” Jiyoon rushes off to grab some drinks leaving us alone again. I immediately drop my arm from around him. “This is hell.” I murmur. Hyunggu laughs. “Let’s go before she comes back out.” We head into the living room and sit down. Jiyoon quickly returning to question the hell out of us. She happily claps once she’s situated in a seat. God this was so awkward. “So, how’d you guys meet?” She smiles wide. Hyunggu smiles softly. “At a party, but I’ve known about her for a while. I mean we are in the same grade and everything.” I glance at him, so he knows about me? What exactly? Jiyoon smiles. “What do you like about her?” “Yah, we aren’t dating. Why would you ask something like that?” I exclaim slapping a hand down on my knee. “I’m just curious to see what made him want to be friends with you?” She simply says a smile still on her face. Did she possibly still not believe me? Was she onto my fake friend business? Hyunggu hums. “I think I’m just curious about her. She’s always quiet, nice, and smart and not the party type. But I saw that she was at that one, so I was confused. She was also being hit on by this guy and looked uncomfortable. I knew that she was uncomfortable so I stepped in. That’s when I realized how completely wasted she was going to be. She drank a crap ton of Crown Royal.” I suddenly begin to cringe. “Yah, Hyunggu shut up.” I nudge him. He smirks. “I asked her to dance with me and she basically passed out. So I took her to lie down in my room.” Jiyoon’s eyes widen. Hyunggu notices. “However, her friend found us and decided to take her home instead.” Hyunggu shrugs. “So since we only got to talk for a short moment I was disappointed that I didn’t get to know her.” Jiyoon seems confused still. Hyunggu doesn’t know what else to say so I step in. “So today we hung out at school and decided we’d become friends.” I shrug. Jiyoon doesn’t seem convinced. Hyunggu quickly smiles. “What Jina means is that we hung out today and have decided to try and be friends. I for one think a great friendship will come from this.” I quickly nod. “I agree.” Jiyoon nods as the front door opens. I hear my dad come inside, my younger brother behind him. As they come down the hall and into view both of their eyes immediately go to Hyunggu. My dad smiles. “Kang Hyunggu!” He waves and Hyunggu quickly stands and bows. “Is the baseball team going to be any good this year?” Hyunggu smiles. “If everyone returns to the team in the spring I think we’re going to be great!” My dad chuckles. “That’s great, I love watching you guys play.” Jiseok, my younger brother eyes Hyunggu questioningly. Jiseok was in middle school, a seventh grader so he knew of Hyunggu. “What are you doing here?” Jiseok asks confused. Hyunggu smiles towards Jiseok. “Huh? Oh, Jina and I recently became friends and,” He gestures towards Jiyoon. “Your sister wanted to meet me.” Jiseok nods a smile breaking out on his face. “So that means you’ll be hanging out here more often?” Hyunggu glances at me, but slowly nods. “Yeah of course.” Jiseok pumps his fist into the air. “Yes!” He moves forward closer to Hyunggu. “You have no idea how suffocating it is having two sisters.” “Yah.” Both Jiyoon and I huff. Title: Friendship Contract Genre: Romance, Comedy Word Count (For Part Two): 3,110 Parts: Part One, Part Two, Part Three, Part Four Rating: PG-13 (for mentions of alcohol, profanity, mentions of sex (however there is no smut)) Main Characters: Kang Hyunggu (Kino), Lee Jina(OC) Minor Characters: Yan An, Kim Hayoung(OC), Jung Wooseok, Adachi Yuto, Lee Jiyoon(OC), Kim Dayeon(OC) (Even smaller appearances by Yeo Changgu(Yeo One)) NOTE: I have added pictures from time to time to give you a visual of Hyunggu... |Because this story is so long I've divided it into FOUR parts. Part Two: The next day when I got to school I find Hayoung at her locker. It was pretty much a boring day so far, everything was like usual. The lunch bell rings and we head towards the lunch room. “Hey Jina.” Hyunggu comes up beside me. Hayoung seems confused that he’s here. “Mmm?” I hum towards him. “You guys can sit with us at lunch today if you want.” He says falling into step with us. Why would we sit together? He leans closer. “If you’re going to make people believe we’re friends we need to hang out more.” His voice low enough that Hayoung couldn’t hear. I guess he is right. I glance at Hayoung. “Are you okay with that?” She glances at Hyunggu and back at me. “I mean I guess.” Once we’re sat down at his table we’re introduced to Jung Wooseok, Adachi Yuto, and Yan An. I sat in between Hyunggu and Yanan who slowly ate away at their food. “So Yanan,” I glance at him. He pauses and glances at me. “You’re back.” Yanan was kind of a new student this year, his good looks had everyone talking about him on the first day. However, this wasn’t the first time he was here. Yanan has come and gone from South Korea since we were in Elementary school. He was mainly quiet and aloof but he managed to make friends with Yuto. Which wasn’t too unsurprising as Yuto was Japanese so the both of them had something in common being that they weren’t from here. He seemed not as close to the other two, since he came and went so often. Yuto and him met at the beginning of this school year. Yuto had transferred to our school last year and as soon as he saw Yanan was in a similar situation to him this year he befriended him right away. He nods and chews on some more of his food. I nod. “Are you staying here for the rest of high school or will you be leaving again?” He hums. “I’ll be staying this time around. I find that the more I go back home the more I miss it.” I nod. “Yeah that makes sense.” Hyunggu got up to dump his tray. Yanan squints towards me. “So, like you guys aren’t really friends, are you?” My mouth drops open. Could he tell? “I uh-.” Did I slip up somewhere? If he noticed did that mean Jiyoon noticed? He raises an eyebrow at how I’ve become speechless. He turns back to his food as Hyunggu comes to sit back down. Hyunggu notices I’ve become stiff. “You good?” I slowly nod. I needed to talk to Yanan alone sometime soon. When the final bell rang for school to end I rush to Yanan’s locker. He was already there when I arrived. I tap him on the shoulder to get his attention. He pauses and glances at me. “Yeah?” “Can I talk to you?” I ask awkwardly. He turns away from his locker to face me. “Sure, go ahead.” This wasn’t my preferred location but I guess it would do. “How do you know that Hyunggu and I aren’t really friends?” I join my hands together. “I’ve never had a fake friend before so I don’t really know how to act?” Yanan squints at me seeming slightly confused. “What do you mean by fake friend?” My eyebrows crease, why is he confused? Didn’t he know? “I thought you knew Hyunggu and I weren’t really friends?” I say softly. Yanan nods. “Well yeah but I just like kinda of assumed you two were like secretly dating or something? What exactly is a fake friend? Am I like mistranslating something? Is this slang for something else?” My eyes widen, shit I totally just gave us away. I slap a hand to forehead. “I’m such an idiot.” Yanan laughs. “I’m still so confused.” I couldn’t just not tell him now? What if he told Hyunggu he knew? I didn’t want him to know that I slipped up and told someone. I glance around him noticing most of the students have vanished for the day so I let out a long sigh. “So, I made a bet with my sister that I could make a friend within one month, if I won she’d get me tickets to see my favorite group. I’m not too great at making friends so I talked Hyunggu into a friendship contract. Which basically means we aren’t really friends, and we probably won’t talk to each other after the month is up. And we agreed to not tell anyone our friendship was fake and I just screwed up because I thought you knew.” Yanan blinks a couple of times. “That’s quite possibly the stupidest thing I’ve ever heard.” My shoulders slump, man way to make me feel better Yanan. “But your secret is safe with me.” He shrugs. “However personally I don’t think it’s that hard to make friends, Hyunggu’s a nice guy so he’s going to be easy to get along with. I wouldn’t be surprised if you became real friends by the end of this.” I shake my head. “I highly doubt it, I don’t make friends easily.” He smiles. “You seem easy enough to get along with, are you sure you just don’t push those close to you away making it hard to make friends?” I bite my lip. Yanan knew too much. “No, I’m just kind of anti-social...” He snorts. “Sure you are. That’s why you came all the way here on your own to talk to me rather than like indirectly doing so.” I cross my arms over my chest. “You’re kind of sassy you know that?” He shrugs, “So I’ve heard.” Hayoung comes around the corner as I finish up my conversation with Yanan. She sends me a confused look as she moves to her locker on the opposite side of Yanan’s. “Well I’ll see you tomorrow.” Yanan says grabbing his backpack. “Bye.” I nod my head towards him before moving next to Hayoung. She glances at me and then back at Yanan as he disappears around the corner. She whips her head back towards me. “Since when were you and Kang Hyunggu friends?” She raises an eyebrow. I shrug. “He’s easy to get along with.” I say using Yanan’s words from earlier. “Plus, I want those tickets so bad.” She snorts. “I just hope he’s not in it for anything other than friendship. I mean he is Kang Hyunggu after all.” I nod, although just from the interactions I’ve had with him so far, he doesn’t seem like a bad guy. Everyone kind of places him, Yuto, Wooseok, and Yanan on a pedestal and assume since they are good looking they that use that to their advantage. Every girl swooned over them so why wouldn’t they take advantage of that. I honestly wasn’t too sure if that was true. But I do remember him saying he wasn’t looking for a relationship right now. So maybe I’ve just not seen that side of him yet? “I’m not too worried about that.” I shake my head. She nods. “I’m happy that you’re making friends at least though. It’s about time we have a big group of people to chill with.” I laugh at her and she smiles. - The next day at lunch we sit with Hyunggu again. Even though it was only the second day eating with them it kind of felt natural. The boys weren’t hard to talk to at all. Though naturally I kept conversations with Wooseok and Yuto short as I didn’t know them all too well. With Hyunggu conversations flew by easily. It was somewhat the same with Yanan. Since he knew about the contract I felt comfortable around him. I left lunch early to head to the bathroom as I was almost late to class because of it yesterday. Once I’m done I move to wash my hands. As I pull a paper towel out to dry my hands the bathroom door opens. I don’t pay attention to it though. I move to leave but notice whoever’s entered is blocking the way. I glance up and make eye contact with Kim Dayeon. I cock my head to the side confused. What was she doing here? She raises an eyebrow. “Since when were you and Hyunggu close?” I blink at her confused. Oh wait, they used to date, didn’t they? I guess I could somewhat understand why’d she be interested in this then. “Oh, we’re friends now.” I shrug. She snorts. “Are you sure you aren’t getting close to him for another reason?” Did she figure it out as well? No don’t give it away this time. “I don’t know what you mean by that?” I cross my arms over my chest. She laughs. “Don’t play innocent, Hyunggu isn’t the person you think he is. He doesn’t sleep around so give up now.” My arms drop to my sides. “I said we were friends, I’m not looking to sleep with him.” Did she perhaps still like him? She rolls her eyes. “I’m not stupid, there have been many girls like you that have gotten close to him for that exact reason. How are you any different?” I sigh, “Do you even hear me when I talk? This is like a one-way conversation.” She shakes her head at me and stomps out. I let out a long breath, that was extremely unexpected. But I guess her and Hyunggu did date for a long time. I think they got together in eighth grade? So it would be around three years of dating for them? They only just broke up a couple of months ago for reasons I don’t know? She would know him best. - It was the weekend and I was supposed to be hanging out with Hyunggu. So, I show up to his place awkwardly knocking on the door. Hyunggu isn’t the one to answer it’s Wooseok. “Oh, hey Jina!” He smiles opening the door wider for me to enter. “Hey Wooseok.” I smile in return. “Hyunggu’s in the shower, he should be down anytime now.” He says as we walk down the hall. “Until then you can hang with me and Yuto in the living room.” I nod. “Sounds good.” Roughly ten minutes later Hyunggu saunters into the living room noticing I’m here. “Oh hey.” He waves. I turn my head towards him taking in his appearance. He was in casual attire which was weird because I was used to seeing him in a school uniform or dressed up. He was in a simple purple hoodie and black sweatpants. I’m not going to lie, he actually looked really good in them. But he didn’t need to know that. “Hey.” I nod towards him turning back to the tv to watch Wooseok and Yuto’s avatars fight. They had been playing some video game since I arrived. I didn’t know what the game was but it looked similar to a game my brother played. He made me play games with him all the time so I was mildly intrigued by the game. Hyunggu plops down beside me on the couch. “Have you ever played?” I glance at him. “Not this one, but one similar.” He nods. “Guys we have next round.” Wooseok glances back in our direction. “No way, is Jina really gonna play?” I shrug. “I mean it looks fun so yeah.” Wooseok nods amused. Once their round ends, which consists of Yuto crushing Wooseok last minute I find myself on the floor next to Hyunggu. He smirks towards me. “Ready to get your ass kicked?” I glare back. “Not a chance.” “Oh I like her already.” Wooseok remarks from behind us. All of my fighting words were a bluff. I had no idea what I was doing on this game. The controller was different for this console so I was totally lost. When the round was over I could feel Hyunggu’s smug self staring at me. I send him a glare and he sticks his tongue out towards me. I shove his shoulder back and he starts laughing. That laugh of his would be the death of me. It instantly makes me smile when I hear it. “Okay okay, hand it back over to the champs now.” Yuto cuts between us. I hand him my controller before standing. Hyunggu hands his controller back to Wooseok standing up beside me. “Wanna go work on homework?” He suggests. I nod, might as well. I end up grabbing my backpack I had left out in the hall and follow him upstairs. Which if I had thought longer about it probably was a bad idea? But I didn’t think too much into it. We end up in his room and when my eyes land on his bed I finally realize what I’ve just walked into. Suddenly I’m on high alert. He wasn’t going to make a move on me, was he? My eyes flit to him, he bends down by his desk to pull his backpack up onto it. He digs around inside of it before pulling out a notebook. Everything’s normal so far. He sits down on his bed and pats the other side suggesting I sit. I awkwardly sit down and pull my backpack to my chest. I open it up and pull out my own notebook. We each separately work on our homework. A half an hour later I’ve relaxed more and Hyunggu’s moved to lying on his stomach while jotting down notes from his textbook. I hear him sigh. “I hate homework.” I snort. “Doesn’t everyone?” “True.” He hums. I hear him set his pencil down. “Let’s take a break.” I glance at him after he’s said that. “Okay?” He looks up at me. “Shouldn’t we take the time to learn about each other? I mean what happens if someone questions us about something a friend would know?” “So like, do we tell each other our favorite colors or what?” I ask a blank expression on my face. Hyunggu laughs. “You’re funny.” “I was being serious!” I exclaim with a huff. He shakes his head moving his elbows out so he can lean on his hands. “How about you tell me the reason why you don’t want to make friends?” My eyes meet his and I stare at him for a couple of seconds. “Why should I tell you that?” He shrugs. “I mean you don’t have to, but I’m interested in knowing why. Have you ever told anyone else why?” My gaze lowers to my hands. “No one knows why.” He sighs. “I’m willing to listen.” My eyes dart up to meet his again. I haven’t even told Hayoung this? Why should I tell him? But then again why couldn’t I tell him? He wasn’t my friend and he also wasn’t related to me. He was kind of like someone I could tell anything to and not worry about the consequences. “I’m afraid to that’s why.” I finally spit it out. “Why?” He hums. I swallow the lump in my throat. “Because I don’t want to lose anyone.” He squints slightly confused. “What do you mean by that?” I let my hands move to my sides to rest on his bedspread. “I just, I don’t like losing people I become close to. If I don’t get to know anyone too well I can’t lose them.” I felt Hyunggu’s eyes on me as a silence follows. “Is this perhaps about your mom?” My eyes dart to him quickly. “How do you know about my mom?” He reaches a hand out to rest on mine. “Jina we’ve went to school together since kindergarten I think I would know.” I didn’t realize other people cared? “If I’m being completely honest, yes the reason behind why I’m like this is because of her.” I bite my lip. “It was so unexpected and sudden. My mom and I were inseparable and I had her ripped from me.” Hyunggu’s grip on my hand tightens. “I can see why you do this then.” I nod. “Thanks for listening.” He pats my hand pulling his hand back to rest underneath his chin. “I understand how you feel though because it sucks when a person you’ve known for so long just isn’t beside you anymore.” He sighs. Was he talking about Dayeon? “Are you talking about Kim Dayeon?” I cock my head to the side. Hyunggu gets a weird look on his face. “Not necessarily, but I guess that’s a good example.” He nods. “Though my breakup with her was a mutual decision.” “What happened?” Because I mean Dayeon didn’t seem too over him? He laughs. “Well you see people change. She just wasn’t the same person I fell in love with anymore and I’m not the same person who fell in love with her.” I nod, oddly enough hearing him say that kind of makes him charming. He wasn’t really bad mouthing her at all. He was just explaining what happened. “Do I still have feelings for her?” He hums his eyes moving to the side as he thinks. “Maybe? But they aren’t the same anymore.” I close my notebook. “So, then what’s the reason behind why you won’t date?” His eyes meet mine. “You probably already know this but my dad cheated on my mom last year and left us. Before he left they fought all the time and hearing that was unsettling, I don’t want to end up like them. So, I’m afraid to date now.” He shrugs. “Maybe this is also why I changed and didn’t see Dayeon the same way anymore.” “You know you’re completely different from what I imagined you to be like.” I say without thinking. I hear him snort. “What did you think I’d be like?” “I don’t mean to be rude but I kind of expected you to be more of a douche.” I admit with a sheepish smile. He laughs. “You’re just like I imagined you to be.” My smile drops, he thought about me before this? “Is that a good or bad thing?” His laugh continues. “It’s a good thing.” “Explain, what did you imagine me to be like and what am I like?” I poke my finger into his forehead. He raises his shoulder to shrug. “You’re really nice and easy to get along with. Not the shy girl everyone thinks you are. You also are kind of adorable.” I felt heat rising up my neck threatening to rise to my cheeks. “Yah who calls someone adorable!” He winks. “It’s true though.” (Author's Note: I just want to note that the reason the part's end so abruptly is because this isn't a chaptered story, I just had to cut it into 4 parts since it was so long!) -- If you wish to be tagged in parts 3 & 4 or if you wish to be tagged in the Pentagon taglist please let me know! -- Parts 3 & 4 will be released at 3 PM (EST) the next few days! - Gorilla Mod Squad: @awkwardjazzy @Halsyeon @MelissaGarza @MaeLyn Universe Taglist: @Josyy7 @ZephyrBlaze @Helixx @SweetDuella @SugakookieV @IsoldaPazo @CrystalBlunt @KarenGuerra93 @LemonLassie @mitchix5 @Sailynn @AimeeH @EvilGenius @ibMIMI @Starbell808 @karinamiranda81 @sukkyongwanser @KpopBeat @Viresse @ImHayley @KierstinAndrews @JasminMartinez @Starbell808 @SierraBecerra @CrookedShadow @AkiraCornett @Changkyunie @Infinitysky @InfiniteKiss @QueenyCrossGene Please let us know if you'd like to be tagged or untagged! I Fall
Requested by @BTSMicDrop Kai x Reader It was our third date. He was shy and sexy and...heavens above, why wouldn't he hold my hand. Kai was polite, he opened doors, he pulled chairs out. The man brings flowers and he won't even hold my hand. Was there some issue with me? Was I being friendzoned and he just didn't want to tell me? WHAT WAS WRONG WITH ME? "You're cute when you space out." His voice is velvet and brings me back. "I'm sorry." I right myself, clearing my throat ",Dinner was lovely, thank you." I've made this awkward. "Should we get you home? I remember you said you had work in the morning and I don't want to keep you to late." Before I can answer, a crack of thunder rattles the building. "We should definitely get home." Within minutes we're walking to the car but never make it in time as the skys open and the rain falls. We're drenched by the time we both curl into the seats of his car and the heater is blasting. "Sorry about that. Should've just called a car instead. The rain didnt ruin your dress did it?" So polite. "No, it didn't." The car is driving and the rain is heavy, so heavy. The lines on the roadway seem to disappear. The car slides just slightly before Kai corrects it. "I need to pull over. We can wait this out until it's lightened up." We're stuck on the side of the road in a tsunami. What a way to end a date or was it just hanging out? Was he so worried to get me home so he could end this little charade of dating? Then... I remember the moment. It was slow motion and yet so fast. He moved, leaning in, his hands reaching for me. My hand reaching for him. I watched the water drip from his hair, a reminder of the sudden downpour that struck us as we went to the car. I watched the windows inch with fog with the atmosphere change. I watched as my fingers splayed out across his chest as he leaned closer. His heart beat fast, he paused for half a second. I should say no. I should stop this before it starts. I should stop before.... I. Fall. The world crashes, the rain booms on the car and my hand fists in his shirt. His hands meets my cheeks and pull me in. Our eyes close and suddenly we are a mixer of lips and tongues and teeth. . . . . @kpopandkimchi @StarishaRichard @KaeliShearer @jenjenkhreim @naydelinrm @MichelleIbarra @jader @StephaniePoore @H8rt4u @Dabaesaplayer @jojojordy2324 @CreeTheOtaku @Ercurrent @Kpossible4250 @Alyessiazavala @BrendaValdez @Zyxzj @VKookie47 @VivianYang @Caky @sarahdarwish @KeziahWright @staceyholley @reyestiny93 @unnieARMkeY @KellyOConnor @TracyLynnn @JessicaFigueroa @BrookeStam @Starbell808 @SusiBosshammer @jjg97 @MayraCastro @QueenyCrossGene @VeronicaArtino @GreciaFlores @Maddie27 @CheyenneJessee @shellyfuentes70 @CheyanneLindsey @JasminMartinez @FannyWard @mitchix5 @ItatiSanchez @Defy24601 @OliviaZenger @lilbr0wneyes @ChelseaJay @ShinoYuki @AraceliJimenez @KarlythePanda66 @JaeneashaJones @rcuero @mjenifferjm9 @Ilikepancakes @BtsIsLife @aleciaLOVES @Kyokeo @MorleeCorielus @ESwee @krin @azura4495
The Ties That Bind C26- Under the Moonlight
Hi guys! It's time for the second-to-last chapter of this story. Yes, it's almost the end. I think the end will be enough of an epilogue so there won't be a separate epilogue either. These new updates to Vingle have got me really unnerved. I read the cards, but I'm still not sure how all of it works. Plus, there must be something wrong with my feed or something because there's no way that only 5 cards have been published all day. It's so much harder to scroll. Hopefully there won't be any problems with the posts *fingers crossed* Alright, well, let's just get to the chapter. It's a good share of angst and fluff, so I hope you enjoy. Thank you for everyone who's reading, liking, clipping, following, and commenting. Please let me know if you would like to be tagged or untagged. Disclaimer: The events are purely fictional. While BTS is real, I don't know them personally so this is just for fun. The original pictures do not belong to me, but the editing does. Warning: May contain violence, language, and blood. Small amount of innuendo. The Ties That Bind Beginning: Chapter 1 Previous: Chapter 25 Next: ******************** Namjoon POV Everything was too perfect; her forgiveness, her love, finally having her in my arms again, feeling her, bathing in the warmth of her body around mine. I wanted to stay like that forever. So we stayed like that for a while. But the alarm on my phone brought reality crashing around us. I felt Sam’s body tense with the realization that we weren’t in our own world, we were still in the real world. Today was going to be hard for both of us, but her way more than me. With the alarm came the reminder of funeral arrangements to help with, injured colleagues to visit, dead friends to mourn. I knew there was nothing I could have done to change what happened but it didn’t make me feel any less guilty. All I could do was be there for her now. She’d been so strong to keep from being utterly destroyed by all of it and now I had the chance to help ease that burden by being her support, being the glue holding her together until she was able to do it herself again. All our blissful happiness became anxiousness when faced with the rest of the day. So we did what we could—we took it one step at a time. We showered together, no thoughts of anything other than simply being together. I could see her lost in her dark thoughts and reminded her of my presence with small touches and butterfly kisses. We threw together a quick breakfast, never leaving each other for more than a couple seconds. I dreaded us having to leave. “I don’t even know where to start,” she told me more than once. I told her to start wherever she thought she could handle it and move on from there. And each time I told her I would only be a phone call away. We got dressed, finishing early. I held her on my lap until I had to leave. I wasn’t even sure if the guys would be expecting me so I had to be in the lobby early and she was going to leave about half an hour after me. I hated to part from her. I would’ve been content to spend a week just curled up in bed with her. But we couldn’t do that. As per usual, Jin was the first one sitting in the lobby. When I sat down next to him, he turned to me. His confusion quickly turned to surprise then happiness. He pulled me into the tightest hug I’d ever had from him. “Thank God. It really was true. You have no idea how happy I am. We’ve been so scared and worried.” My head lowered. “I know, hyung. I’m sorry. I caused everyone so much trouble and I was a complete and total idiot. My behavior… I can’t even—“ “It’s alright, Joon. The most important thing is that you’re okay now.” His demeanor changed as he obviously was trying to be more careful. “So… you and Sam…” “There’s still a lot she’s dealing with right now, but… we’re working through it together. I don’t want to say too much because I know she wants us both to talk to you guys about it, but I can tell you this much at least.” “Well, there’s a lot you need to catch up on. And there’s things you need to apologize for.” Before I could say anything else, he gave me the full story about Jungkook’s run in with enforcers, filling in the holes Sam’s quick info had left. My anger was tempered by my guilt for not being there for him. Not only that, but it was my fault he was in the place he got targeted. Jungkook needed a break from being around me and the guys understood. And then when it happened, not only was I not there but Hoseok wasn’t there because he was busy looking after me. Then he told me about how busy it’d been at work, especially with covering for me. I know he wasn’t trying to make me feel guilty so much as he was trying to get me to see how my behavior impacted everyone else. Just as he was finishing, Hoseok came down. His footsteps stuttered to a brief halt when he saw me. Then his sunshine smile broke out on his face and he finished crossing the lobby to us. I stood up to hug him. “Hearing it is one thing,” he started, “but actually seeing you here…” I knew him well enough to see the hint of sadness in his smile. “I’m glad things are turning around for you.” Out of nowhere, he grabbed my face in one hand forcing my lips together and making a fish face. “Though you do still have some weight to gain back. You’re too thin.” I smacked his hand away making all three of us laugh. “Hyung!” I turned to find Jungkook and Taehyung halfway across the lobby. They both crowded me as well, cautiously teasing me. I’m not sure the number of times I told Jungkook that I was sorry for not being there for him but he gave an equal number of ‘it’s ok’s. Jimin came right after and as usual, Yoongi was last. Yoongi flashed me a brief smile before indicating with his head for me to go ahead and talk to Jimin. I could finally tell him how sorry I was for hurting him. My memory of those weeks was mostly fuzzy, but I remembered having that empty bottle in my hand, getting angry, and swinging wildly. I remembered the blood dripping down from the side of his face and I remembered the look on his face as he gaped up at me from the floor in disbelief and hurt. Jimin said he’d already forgiven me for it, but it was hard for me to look him straight in the eyes. In fact, as we walked to the cars, I found it difficult to look at any of them for too long. The things I’d said, the way I’d behaved, the inconveniences and troubles I’d put them through… I tried to play along as if everything was back to normal, but I knew I would constantly think of the things I’d said and did (what I could remember). They acted as though it was any other day but my guilt ate away at me. I know they noticed in the car and at the office, but to their credit, none of them pushed it. They knew how I felt and knew that the more they tried to convince me it was okay, the more I would feel guilty. I could see it on their faces. Once at the office, I was greeted warmly. The guys had officially requested my time off as personal leave and no one asked anything more. I spent most of the morning getting caught up on what I’d missed and then spent the rest of it and my lunch on making calls. I talked to everyone I could aside from people at the office and the guys about going in to donate their healing enzyme. Sam wanted to be the one to tell them about the raid, especially Taehyung. He would take it hard and Sam would want to be there for him. Throughout the day, I messaged Sam. I wanted to keep reminding her that I was there with her. She didn’t say much when she responded, but I hoped I was doing some good. I called her when I was able to shut my door for a few minutes without worrying about interruption. I could hear the strain in her voice. Seeing people at the hospital had been hard for her. To make it worse, she decided to try to do everything at once. She stopped by some of her colleagues’ houses that were injured and the ones who died. I caught her right when she was about to head to Meg’s place. I knew she wanted to cry but she worked hard to keep herself together. All I could do was tell her that she was strong and that I would only be a phone call away if she needed me. And at the end of the day, I would be waiting for her at home, ready to hold her in my arms again. If I could’ve been there for everything I would’ve, but she insisted that I get my work and all caught up. I was torn, but she was right, we had to try to get things back to normal as much as possible, as impossible as it seemed. So, as much as I hated it, I had to pretend that it wasn’t breaking my heart to not be there for her. Throughout catching up on work, my thoughts constantly found their way back to her. When work ended, I messaged Sam to tell her I was finished and would be waiting for her at home. She sent me a quick response back saying that she’d be home as soon as she was finished. I asked if she still wanted to talk to the guys today and she said yes. I went back with the guys and started cleaning up the place. Sam messaged me that she was on her way so I asked the guys to meet at my place. I ordered dinner for everyone. The second I heard the code being punched in, I was on my feet. The tone in her voice as she softly called out my name brought me to her in the next instant. I held her in my arms again. The hours away from her had been too long. She held me tightly back and I felt her take in slow, deep breaths to keep from crying. “I’m so glad I have you again,” she murmured. “I don’t know what I would do…” “I’m going to be here for you for the rest of our lives. I can’t do it without you.” Her grip grew tighter for a second before pulling away. “I love you,” she said, pecking me on the lips. Even tired and worn-down, I could see the love in her eyes and it made my heart flutter. Was it possible to keep falling in love with someone? “I love you too.” Then I returned the gesture. “The guys are here?” I nodded. “Tae?” I nodded again and she let out a shaky breath. “God… I can’t believe I have to do this.” “I’ll be right with you.” “I know,” she sighed, the breath almost catching in her throat. I held the back of her head as I gave her a gentle kiss on the forehead. My hand slipped naturally into hers as we walked back to the living room. Their faces lit up for a brief moment before faltering. “What happened to your face?” Of course Jimin was the one to ask so bluntly. Sam chuckled a little. “My job.” “Does it hurt a lot?” Taehyung and Jungkook asked together. They gave each other a look and pushed each other playfully. Sam smiled. It was a genuine smile too. “A bit. I’m on some medicine for the pain, so it’s not too bad.” “Well,” Jin gave me a smile, “I, for one, am just happy you two are back together.” “Seconded,” Hoseok added, slinging his arm around my shoulder. “Same,” Yoongi said, smiling. I saw Taehyung quickly pull out his phone and start typing. “Who’re you messaging?” Jin asked him. “We’re here for just us.” “Meg,” Taehyung responded with pink cheeks. I quickly turned to Sam. Her smile had already dropped. “I asked her out just before they had their falling out. She said yes at first but then said she’d have to wait until the two got back together. I’m letting her know. I haven’t heard from her for a couple—“ “What’s wrong?” Hoseok cut him off when Sam pulled away from me and started walking quickly toward the bedroom. “I’ll be right back,” I told them as I followed after Sam. I shut the door behind me and wrapped my arms around Sam who was already waiting for me. “I didn’t—how can I—I don’t even know how to say it anymore.” I rested her uninjured cheek against my chest. Her tears started to dampen my shirt. My heart broke for her. “Do you want me to…” She shook her head. “I have to be the one. She’d want that. Just give me a moment. The sound of your heartbeat is helping.” I carefully covered her injured ear so that my heartbeat was the only thing she could hear and took a few deep breaths to slow it down. After a minute, she pulled away, wiping at her tears. She grabbed my hand and nodded and I led us both back to the other room. “Are you mad at me?” Taehyung quickly asked as soon as he saw us. “We were going to tell you, I promise.” Tae couldn’t imagine what he was going to hear next and I hurt for him. Sam shook her head. “It’s not that. There’s… there’s something I need to tell you.” She looked at me. “We should sit down.” Taehyung’s face still showed his confusion when Sam sat him down on the couch next to her. I kept one hand on her back to let her know I was still there. The others sat down as well. Her voice was soft when she finally started to speak. “You guys heard on the news about the raid last weekend, right?” Everyone nodded. It was all pretty much anyone around the office could talk about. “The families requested that the names of those who didn’t make it not be published. They wanted privacy to mourn.” Sam grabbed Tae’s hands. “Meg… Meg didn’t make it.” Tae looked like he didn’t understand. Sam squeezed his hands. “Meg was killed during the raid.” His brows furrowed together in confusion. “I don’t understand. I just talked to her. And she’s—she’s tough. I—“ “You talked to her before the raid. You said yourself it’d been a couple days.” “Yeah, but—“ “I’m sorry, Tae.” I saw her shoulders start to shake and set my hands on them. “They came out of nowhere. We didn’t even have time to react. She—She was killed instantly. She didn’t—she didn’t suffer.” He still looked at her in disbelief, but tears had already begun to well up. Even if his brain wasn’t allowing it to register, his heart was. “They’re doing a large enforcer funeral on Friday for everyone who died and her private funeral is on Sunday.” “She’s… dead?” His voice cracked as he finally said those words. “I’m so sorry, Tae.” I couldn’t see Sam’s face, but I knew she was crying. Tae let go of her hands to wipe at his eyes. He looked like he was in a daze when he stood up. We all quickly mirrored him. “She’s dead…” Jungkook was the first to move, hugging him. The bond between those two had always been stronger than any bonds between the rest of us. They had been through so much together. “But she…” Sam hugged him as well and it turned into big group hug with Tae finally bursting into tears and Sam following right after. That day was only one of many hard days for us over the next couple weeks. The day after we told Tae about Meg, I had Yoongi feed from Sam to help the cravings that had come back with a vengeance. And with Sam somehow managing to trace back the healing enzyme donations back to me and seeing her colleagues get better, she finally allowed me to heal her just a bit at a time. Sam told me about them finding out how a couple of the human enforcers had been using the system to sneak and sell Sunlight on the black market. Their efforts allowed a backdoor into the system. A similar incident had occurred with the vampire enforcers and was thus exploited as well. Apparently, the only solace they could take in was the fact that it was only hacked right before the raid, otherwise the casualties would’ve been worse. One of the enforcers involved was killed in the raid and the others were going to be prosecuted. Then came the funerals. Tae was a mess just about as much as Sam. I tried to comfort Sam the best I could, but there was only so much I could do. But Tae was in a similar position as her so they could at least comfort each other. Jimin watched over Jungkook as he was the next closest to Meg. He was hurt too, but he felt like his pain wasn’t as important. Only Jimin seemed to be able to convince him otherwise. It took months before things started going back to normal. Sam and Tae still mourned for Meg, but it didn’t consume their every thought any longer. Seeing how torn up Tae was, I wondered how short of a time it would’ve been before they became bondmates had she lived longer. And one day during the first few weeks after the funerals, Sam told me about her miscarriage. It took time for that wound to heal as well—a good deal of time. I reminded her of the talk we’d had before. No matter what, we would make things work. And we were careful with protection after that. Her and Yoongi’s bond had settled so he went and had the treatment. After that, things got more comfortable between all of us. In fact, things got better for a lot of people. Seeing the care and cooperation between vampires and humans, both enforcer or regular citizens, gave a lot of people hope and comfort for the future of both species. It took about a month before I stopped waking up with the fear that everything had been a dream. The first time it happened, Sam and I celebrated, both at a restaurant and in bed. I could never seem to get enough of her. Granny was hesitant about letting me back into Sam’s life at first. I completely understood and knew I deserved that. But with a simple conversation with Sam, and a promise from me, she accepted us again. Soon after, without telling Sam, I got Granny’s blessing to marry her. Narrator POV Under guise of an anniversary, Namjoon took them on a trip. He told Jin he was going to be using Jin’s parents’ summer place in the woods and took Sam there. In order to keep her from suspecting, he didn’t do anything unusual the first day and night. On Sunday, they walked through the woods, recounting memories from the summers all those years ago. When night fell, Namjoon took them back to the house just to grab a picnic basket; he had promised Sam a night picnic under the stars and full moon. He hoped the fireflies were still out like they used to be. Just like old times, he hurried up the hill to their hideout, making sure she couldn’t keep up. “Oppa! Slow down, you know—“ she cut herself off with a squeal when he scooped her up in his arms. Picnic basket clutched tightly in Sam’s hands, he raced up the hill. Her laughter brought him back to their innocent love. Back then, he never found the courage to tell her how he felt, especially since he thought Yoongi was better suited to her than he was. He smiled at the thought. The things he never could’ve imagined… They reached the top of the hill, but he refused to put her down. She was his to carry like that forever. The reflection of the moon in her loving eyes sent butterflies throughout his whole body. He was pretty sure he’d never stop falling in love with her over and over and over again. Sam loved the way he held her so perfectly in his arms. It was familiar and comfortable. She couldn’t stop looking at him and drinking in the sight of the moonlight highlighting the features of his face. She’d never get sick of looking at him. Namjoon set her down when they reached the edge of the clearing where the now smaller waterfall became a small pond before continuing on. This was their getaway, their secret hideout. It was just as they remembered with time only changing a few things. The last of the fireflies of the season were there to greet them as well. The sky was clear so every single star was visible and in the clearing, the moonlight was strong enough for Namjoon to be able to switch off their lights. The utter awe on her face… He stepped behind her, wrapping his arms around her and settling his chin on her shoulder. “Is it just like you remember?” She turned her head. “Better.” Their kiss was sweet with a deeper hint of passion. With the mosquito spray they’d used, Namjoon was pretty sure we could get away with something he never thought he’d consider. But with her, he found himself wandering from his comfort zone and towards anything that would make her smile… or moan his name. His other brain threatened to make him forget why he really brought her here. He broke their kiss with a reluctant groan. Her smirk… Damn, the things she did to him. He quickly laid out the blanket and sat down, pulling her down between his legs, her back against his chest. He lit the mosquito candles and set them around while Sam pulled the fruits out of the basket and began feeding Namjoon. He returned it as well. They sat in comfortable silence, listening to the sound of the cicadas, the buzzing of insects, the rustle of wind through the leaves, the clear sound of the small river carefully cascading down the rocks to the pond. “Feisty,” Namjoon murmured against her neck. “Hmm?” She leaned into his touch. “I found something I think you’d like to see.” “And what’s that?” In the early morning hours, while she was still fast asleep, Namjoon had snuck out into the forest and began looking for something. They were both exactly where the two had hidden them, though definitely showing the wear of age. “This.” It took a moment for Sam to see clearly even with the moonlight and candles. “Oh my God… I can’t believe these were still here. After all this time.” Her smile was warm and nostalgic as she looked over the faded pictures. The flower crowns… She’d been lucky that Jin had been able to join them the next day and Yoongi had allowed them to take the picture. Her gaze lingered on the picture of her and Namjoon. She still remembered the way her heart beat so intensely when he pressed his face against hers. “We were meant to meet each other again, all of us. And you and I… we were meant to be together.” “So cheesy. I love it.” They both laughed together and Namjoon kissed gently along her exposed neck. After another moment, Namjoon spoke up again. “Can you stand up for a sec?” “Um, sure?” Namjoon chuckled. “I have another surprise for you, but I have to get it out of my pants.” Sam covered her mouth and turned as she started snickering. “What’s so—oh, you’re bad. You’re really bad. It’s not that. Now, get your perfect ass up so I can get your surprise, ok?” “Ok, oppa,” she agreed, kissing him quickly on the lips. Namjoon wanted to grab her and pull her back down on him, but first thing was first. “Now, close your eyes.” Sam rolled her eyes before obliging. “Keep them closed until I say, ok?” “Yeah, yeah, yeah. Just hurry up so I can pounce on you. This full moon is making me want to do some things to you.” Sam chuckled when she heard Namjoon growl lowly. With a lot of self-control, Namjoon stayed to the task at hand. He pull out the small box he’d kept carefully safe in his side pocket and opened it, checking to make sure the moonlight was enough to make it shine perfectly. It was. He adjusted himself to one knee and held the box up to her. “Alright, feisty, open your eyes.” The moment her eyes rested on the object in his hand, her expression changed from curious expectancy to breathlessness. Namjoon actually saw her breath hitch. “My most beautiful Angel, who I fell for the first time I saw you in that clearing, the sunlight creating a beautiful radiance making you look like an actual angel. My perfect feisty, who I fell for again when you opened that bedroom door the first time we met again. My amazing girlfriend, with who I wouldn’t trade the moments we had for anything else in the entire world. I love you more than anything.” Namjoon cleared his throat that started to close at the sight of her tears. “Samantha Wester, love of my life, my bondmate, and true mate… Will you marry me?” Without a single moment of hesitation, Sam cried out, “Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes. God, yes.” Namjoon jumped up and the two shared a passionate kiss that held promises of all future kisses. They broke for air and he slipped the ring onto her finger. Sam marveled at the ring for a moment before pulling Namjoon into another kiss. Surprising him, she shoved him away and onto the blanket. Propped up on his elbows, Namjoon looked up at her in confusion. She quickly pulled her shirt over her head and straddled his lap. One finger against his lips, she shushed him before he could say anything. “Now, it’s my turn to do all the work.” ********************************************* I do feel really bad for Taehyung, of course, but a lot of bad things happened in this story. But I love what worked out with Sam and Namjoon. I hope you enjoyed this chapter. One more chapter to go. I hope I won't disappoint.
