Visit Busan With Me: My Weekend in Korea's Second Largest City

I'm from San Diego, so I grew up right next to the beach.


The ocean has always been really important to me (even though I barely go waist-deep) and I do miss it a lot when I'm in Seoul.
This weekend though, I traveled to Busan which is Korea's second largest city and sits right on the south eastern tip of the country. No matter where you are in the city you can either see the ocean, hear the ocean, or at least see one of the many canals that juts through the city.
I wish I had more time there to really explore and even though I've been there before, I haven't seen even a fraction of this gorgeous place!

I definitely want to spend more time in busan next trip. It was so beautiful. I also had my favorite meal of the trip in busan haha (it was amazing 떡볶이 that was so spicy and yummy)

Travel Busan: Gamcheon Culture Village!
Hello Busan! One of Busan's most colorful spots, the Gamcheon Culture Village (부산 감천문화마을), is such a fun place to explore! Though most of my friends from Busan haven't even been there, its a really cool place to find street art, handmade crafts, and to take some pretty stunning photos. To get there, just cross the street from Busan station and hop on the 87 bus! It's about a 30 minute ride, and you can get off at "Yang-Seong-Su-Peo" or you can ask the driver to let you know when to get off (they're used to that, driving this route!) There is a cafe at the top of the hill where the bus drops you off that has stunning views and the owner has the cutest puppy ever :3

I Just Saw Monsta X on The Street in Seoul?!
this is a picture of them from earlier that day (170505) so you can see their outfits are the same^^ So, my Friday was a lot more interesting than I thought it was going to be LOL Originally I was just going to have a chill picnic on Friday (it was a holiday in Korea) then get coffee with a new friend, but two members of Monsta X decided to crash the party. I was waiting for my friend at the subway station exit and saw two guys pull up on a bike next to me. I looked at the first guy and he looked SO FAMILIAR but I couldnt remember where I knew him from. Then I looked at the second guy and HE WAS SO FAMILIAR TOO and then suddenly it clicked and I realized they were in Monsta X. My video was a little late so you can only see their profiles but I'm sure Monsta X fans can tell who they are :) Turns out Startship's building is nearby so they were probably just taking a break and enjoying the nice weather :) Are either of them your biases? My coworker is a TOTAL Minhyuk stan but she was still dying of jealousy hahaha

Everyone knows Korean food is amazing, but even living in Korea I had never tasted food as good as what I got in Jeonju. Jeonju is a city in the south of Korea that is famous for its bibimbap, but also just for foods of all kinds!!! I went there with my boyfriend for a weekend and we ate SO MUCH! My favorite was the kalguksu (칼국수) and the mandu (만두) but seriously, everything was amazing. What's your favorite Korean food?!

Speaking English in Korea
So many of us will want to visit Korea even before we reach fluency, so I found this experiment pretty interesting. Keep in mind, Korean schools force students to study English starting in elementary school, its a huge portion of their university entrance exams (which basically makes or breaks their life) and most parents will try to get their kids English tutors if they can afford it. One man asks random Korean strangers questions in English to see their reactions! Does this make you feel less nervous about traveling? Would you feel comfortable speaking English to strangers?
Come Explore The Most Beautiful Park in Korea!
Hi guys! This weekend I visited Ilsan, a city right outside of Seoul that has a massive park with a lake and botanical garden. The trees had all changed colors (except the pine trees obviously lol) and it was absolutely gorgeous. In the vlog there are cacti, giant swings, and perfect lattes~ Please enjoy!
