Let's Talk About Plastic Surgery In Korea

A few weeks ago, I was invited to tour a famous plastic surgery clinic here in Seoul.

I only got a dermatology treatment, but I learned quite a bit about procedures I had no idea existed!

I wanted to show you my procedure but also talk about my opinions on plastic surgery here in Korea and abroad!

Hope you enjoy :)

Watch it here:

What are your opinions on plastic surgery?

I hate ro see plastic surgery done on children (and I don't mean ones disfigured or need it for medical reasons). I can name 3 or 4 girls that had cosmetic surgery done at age.15 and 16 because they didnt like something.

The Surgery/Beauty Costs To Be A Kardashian Is MORE Than You Think
Want to be a Kardashian? Well, it's going to cost a pretty penny. UK cosmetic surgery brand Transform sat down with UK Daily that there has been a 73% increase in Kardashian related plastic surgeries. However, the Kardashians are not ones to hide the fact that with plastic surgery comes a crazy price tag. Luckily for the Kardashians, money isn't an issue. The costs below are mere estimates by Transform. "The Kardashian family has done more for cosmetic surgery than anyone previously. They openly talk about treatments, are filmed whilst having procedures and are unashamedly obsessed with looking their best at all times," says a Transform spokesperson. "Fans and viewers can see the results of the treatments and procedures they’ve all had for themselves – the Kardashians have lifted some of the taboos and stigmas associated with surgery and non-surgical treatments and shown the world, the great results these procedures can deliver." Below is a list of the prices in British pounds and American dollars. Check out these insane costs! The KPop Diet Issue
The Kpop industry is not only an industry of talent and singing, but an industry that is also hyper focused on the image and "beauty" of the idols that they "produce". Miss A's Suzy, Wonder Girls' Yubin, Wonder Girl's Hyelim, Apink's Eunji, Secret's Hyosung, F(x)'s Luna all underwent drastic weight loss transformations in order to maintain the public image of "beauty". Of course these few artists do not even start to represent the issue that is in the Kpop Industry. Twice's Jihyo was bluntly told by JYP that she had to lose weight and that was her flaw. After debuting she also received a lot of hate for her weight and promptly lost a lot shutting up her haters but also instigating complaints from fans saying that she was beautiful the way she was, which I agree with. Many artists have followed unhealthy diets, literally starving themselves in order to achieve the figure required of them by their company and by the image the kpop industry sets up for them. These examples are not limited to these artists but these are just some examples of people who have done these. Sistar's Soyou ate only one meal a day, IU ate one apple, one sweet potato and one protein shake a day, After School's UEE eats only 1000kcals a day (that's half the recommended daily calorie intake!), 2AM's Changmin ate 2 blocks of tofu and ran for 6 hours everyday, Sistar's Dasom ate only cucumbers for 3 weeks, Park Boram is probably one of the more extreme examples of the chaos the kpop industry produces in the minds of young and growing people. She participated in Super Star K2 at the age of 18 and placed in the top 8! Afterwards, though, she eventually lost 70 pounds in order to debut! While this may have taken place over the course of 4 years that is a ridiculous amount of weight to lose! She released an album last year called "Celepretty" revealing her completely changed figure. But the Kpop industry is changing, a bit too slowly, but it's changing. Korea's first plus-sized model, Vivian Geeyang Kim, shared her thoughts about not fitting the "ideal Korean image" in an interview with Koreaboo's partner OOgeeWoogee. You can read more about it here - The people represented above are only a small proportion of the people who suffer from this issue and mentality. I did not mean to exclude anyone and this is also an issue in many nations, the issue of an image that isn't possible by healthy means. Haters gonna hate but we have to show our support for our artists!!! Share the love!!!!!! KpopINT will keep you updated! Review with Mew; The Blonds x DISNEY VILLAINS : SS2019 w @ NYFW
Mew here, and I was feeling particularly villainous today, so to also get you in the wicked mood I did a quick review of one of my favorite runways inspired by my favorite Disney villains. One of my all time favorite fashion runways is luxury fashion brand THE BLONDS presenting their SS’19 collection which was inspired by some of our hated? loved?Disney villains. The designers were undoubtedly successful in capturing the essence of Disney's most wicked characters! Here’s a look at my favorite pieces and their inspirations: The show started out with one of the baddest baddies in Disney: Malificent Malificent's coat was the inspiration and the piece was modeled by one of the designers himself Philippe Blond. He left the runway bloody after that walk but then proceeded to clean it up using one of my FAVE pieces of the night! Sir I respect your vision but please no…that looks expensive. Me, with my poison apple in tow, on my way to poison my 2nd husband after he writes me into his will: ± Next section was dedicated to Dr Facilier the CREEPiest villain to grace Disney Animation since Jafar…: Dr Facilier He still gives me chills whenever I think about his creepy smile but as an inspiration for this number? CHILLS ..but the good kind this time. The gold detailing on that vest is almost hypnotizing. ± Next up we have Wicked Witch of the Seas, ready to take your breath away! : Ursula Loved the webbed finger gloves and floorlength purple feathers; pay homage to the queen. And what is a sea witch without her cronies, eels Flotsam and Jetsam modeled by the ever stunning Dupont Twins. We LOVE a skin-tight bodysuit and highlighter green. ± THE MAIN EVENT was definitely Paris Hilton on her Cruella De Vil ish, modeling with her cute chihuahua. : Cruella De Vil The red lip contrast to the black and white mix thigh boots? A LOOK *No Dalmatians were harmed in the making of this STRUT* 101 Reasons to love this fur ensemble.^ Feeling nasty yet? ± Personally I LOVED every piece but these were a few of my favorites. Watch the entire runway show here And let me know your favorite Disney villain look!
Korean Summer Skincare Essentials
Even though its mid-August, summer here in Seoul is nowhere near over. We'll probably be hot and sweaty until the end of September * cries * So, I wanted to share some of my tips for using Korean beauty products to survive the weather :) What I mention: 1. SUNBLOCK Here in Korea there are a lot of different kinds of sunblock including a more watery 'essence' that you apply after your toner in the morning. It seeps into your skin and really helps protect you! 2. Aloe Vera I used this all the time as a kid who would get sunburned a lot haha In Korea you can buy it by the tub-full and drinkable aloe is also really popular! 3. Face Masks in the Fridge! We all know Korean face masks do amazing things for your skin, but for extra summer relief, through them in your fridge for a mini ice facial! The mask will be super cold and will feel soooo good! 4. Gel Eye Masks If you don't like putting product on your face, you should try gel masks that are just pickets of gel that you can either heat up or freeze and put on your face. My eye patches are really great when I have a head ache or I'm just too hot. 5. Clay Masks For Oil I don't really have oily skin, but in the summer even I get that unwelcomed shine. Clay masks really help get rid of that extra oil and calm down your pores. I have a volcanic clay mask that is amazing! 6. Foot Masks Normally when we think of skincare we think of only our faces, but your feet need love too! Especially durning summer when you're probably in sandals more - foot masks really help you out. Some are insane and totally make all your skin peel off, but some are tame and just moisturize your feet. You choose ;) 7. Face Mists Face mists are my life savers on a hot day. Just spray a little (my favorite is a sea water kind) on your face, your neck, your arms, and voila! You're suddenly cooled down, moisturized, and feeling like you can survive the day :) For more on my opinions and what products I used: What's your favorite summer skincare tip?
Best cleansing oils & cleansing waters for sensitive skin
Hello! This is mikayla. I only used cleansing oils and waters to remove makeup - so today, I'm going to show you my favorite types of oils and waters! :) I am prone to acnes and I do have many breakouts due to sensitive skin type :'(!! My skin type is sensitive, but I would say it's combination of both oily and dry skin (lol I know my skin type is very complexed!). So people with sensitive skin type as me, follow along! 1. Bielenda Rose Oil for Sensitive Skin I actually love this product! This is one of the best cleansing oils I've ever used. Its scent is wonderful and it's oil to milk formula. It easily erases every part of your makeup. I highly recommend this item :p Oh and also, I got this at ROSS so yeah, it was cheap. I think it was around $6-7. 2. Garnier SkinActive Micellar Water (for sensitive skin) This one is also one of my favorite! This is perfect for sensitive skin types because it's "water" type. I heard from my dermatologist that using oil is not a good way for removing makeup especially for those people with sensitive skin types! It's affordable, it's every where (Ralphs, CVS, Walgreens, etc) 3. Lancome Bi-facil Non-oily cleanser I personally recommend this item (even tho this product is sorta pricy...haha). It's because I hated the greasy texture the cleansing water has. Sometimes it feels like I have oils on top of my face after removing the makeup. So! I recommend this item for a non-oily product. 4. Neutrogena oil-free eye makeup remover Well, they call this oil-free but I don't understand why.... it's literally splited in to water and oil when I purchased this item lol. But! the price is nice and it really does erase well :) So I recommend this product. It gets a bit oily, so you definitely have to cleanse once more though.
Post-Op Day 8
Hey Everyone! So, I thought I'd give everyone an update to my post-op cosmetic surgery. Today is Day 8 (post-op). Last Friday I went under the knife, which you can read about here to get the following procedures: * Rhinoplasty (nose job) * Chin implant * Jaw fillers *Under eye fillers I am excited to inform you that I took a total of four (4) Fioricet pills and nixed the rest because the pain just wasn't that bad. By day five, I was off of the Tylenol pills, which helped with the pain and let me rest. Click here to see what I looked like RIGHT AFTER SURGERY! Cost: $16,000 (for everything) Was it worth it? YES! While my nose will take about six months to heal and reduce in size, I can say that I am VERY PLEASED with the work that Dr. Lamperti did. He wasn't the least expensive, which was closer to $12,000. But he certainly wasn't the most expensive, which was $29,000. How did I find my doctor? It took three months of research, mainly through actual consultations with a variety of surgeons (that I had to pay for, which ranged from $75 - $100 per consult). So I spent a SMALL FORTUNE finding the right doctor, but it's so worth it! But it all started with That site is the definitive A-Z site for all things cosmetic.
