From Space.com: [Go to site for full article] "NASA's Hubble Space Telescope has detected water in the atmospheres of five planets beyond our solar system, two recent studies reveal. The five exoplanets with hints of water are all scorching-hot, Jupiter-size worlds that are unlikely to host life as we know it. But finding water in their atmospheres still marks a step forward in the search for distant planets that may be capable of supporting alien life, researchers said. "We're very confident that we see a water signature for multiple planets," Avi Mandell, of NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Md., lead author of one of the studies, said in a statement. "This work really opens the door for comparing how much water is present in atmospheres on different kinds of exoplanets — for example, hotter versus cooler ones."
@nylamrehs Yes, it would sis. It would be the biggest discovery ever. If they find it in our lifetime, let's all go together. :)
yeah.. it's really amazing... would really be nice if there is a living planet just like ours..
@Saravy That's the human spirit right there! @nylamrehs It's not positively confirmed, although they believe that they're right. It would be amazing, wouldn't it? To think, there are other planets we could possibly live on one day. But, yes. The money needed would be crazy.
wow.. really now? this is a big discovery... maybe we could really find a planet just like our... it's just a question of time and a huge amount of money to fund this project.. lol
Woohoo!! Time to colonize and destroy other places! Yay!
