Sunggyu facts: – He was born in North Jeolla, South Korea. – Sunggyu has an older sister who is five years older than him. SungGyu’s noona is named Kim JiEun. – When Sunggyu first told his parents about his dream as an idol, they rejected it and his mom wanted him to have a normal live. – Sunggyu was in the school band named ‘Comabeat’ when he was in Senior High School. – Sunggyu graduated from Daekyung University, majoring in Applied Music with fellow members Hoya, L, and Sungyeol. – He was the fastest member who learnt the scorpion dance. – He picked Sungjong as the cutest member and L as the most handsome. – He had audited 2 times for SM Entertainment but he was rejected. Luckily he debuted under Woollim Entertainment. – During his trainee days the one he disliked the most was Woohyun. But now Woohyun is the one he trusts the most. – In November 2012 he debuted as a solo singer with his solo EP, “Another Me”, with the title track “60 Seconds” (L acted in the MV) – In 2015 Sunggyu participated in KBS’s show “Exciting India”, alongside TVXQ’s Changmin, Super Junior’s Kyuhyun, SHINee’s Minho, CNBLUE’s Jonghyun, and EXO’s Suho. – In May 2015, he released the 2nd EP, “27” (he promoted 2 songs: “The Answer” and “Kontrol”). – He acted in a few musicals: “Gwanghwamun Sonata” (2012), “VAMPIRE” (2014), “In The Heights” (2015), “All Shook Up” (2016), “Gwanghamun Sonata” (2017-2018) – He had a cameo appearance in “The Thousandth Man” (2012). – He acted in the drama “Pure Love” (2013). – Sunggyu appeared alongside rapper Defconn as an MC in the popular show “Weekly Idol”. – During his filming for the variety show ‘Singderella’ (where he’s an MC) on 29 March 2017, Sunggyu suffered from rib injury while filming; INFINITE’s comeback date is still undecided after incident. – Sunggyu is friends with Highlight’s Junhyung, actor Kim Min Seok (Outrageous Roomates) and Leo from VIXX (Weekly Idol Ep. 227). – Sunggyu released his first ever full album “10 Stories” with a title track “True Love” on Feb. 26 2018. – On May 14, 2018, Sunggyu enlisted in the military. – Sunggyu’s ideal type: A cute girl that can be sexy.
