The new romantic comedy/melodrama, My Love From Another Star, which will take the Heirs time slot on SBS, is the story of an alien who comes to the earth 400 years ago and falls in love with a reckless actress in present day. All right, slightly wacky premise, but you’ve got our interest! Here are 5 reasons why: 1. The story has real historical roots. According to writer Park Ji Eun, the inspiration for the drama came from a historical mystery: In 1609, a single sentence was written within the Joseon royal records indicating an unidentified flying object sighted in a handful of provinces, among them Kangwon-do. 2. Kim Soo Hyun will be back on our screens. The young actor has become one of the most beloved stars in Korea following his big break in the explosively popular Moon That Embraces The Sun and Dream High. In My Love from Another Star, he’ll be playing the alien. Well, the alien who is now a professor of psychology, that is. (This also means we’ll get to see him in cute glasses and fitted suits, so everything here is a win.) 3. And yes, there will be a shower scene. Bless you, drama gods. 4. It’s also Jun Ji Hyun’s return to dramaland. Jun, the long-undisputed icon of Korean beauty, hasn’t starred in a drama since 1999. It's also worth noting that she and Kim were co-stars in the 2012 film Thieves, so they already have proven chemistry. Although we don’t know much about her character yet, it would be nice to see a bit of her spunk from My Sassy Girl return here. 5. You’ll love the rest of the cast. We’ve got the tall, pale and handsome Park Hae Jin, whom we know best from East of Eden and Family Outing; the lovely Yoo In Na, of Greatest Love and You’re the Best, Lee Soon Shin; and Shin Sung Rok, in his first drama role since his return from military service. My Love from Another Stars premieres on DramaFever on Dec. 18!
