Peyton Manning wins Sports Illustrated Sportsman of the Year
Number 18 won the award last night, after (nearly) two spectacular seasons with Denver after returning from career threatening neck surgery.
The other frontrunner for the award was David Ortiz, for his leadership of the Red Sox and Boston from April's bombings to October's World Series victory. Who do you think deserved it more?
I'd say Ortiz because A) he helped lift an entire city after a horrible tragedy, and B) put up disgusting numbers all year, which only improved in the playoffs, and reached an inhuman level on the biggest stage in the World Series.
