So Imma try and push 10 and 11 out today. Since all I gotta do is edit I should be able to.
Who: Reader x Lee Jongmin
Story: He's has an amazing talent but he doesn't trust the rich... He's about to learn.
You gently pulled away from him and looked up baffled by what just happened. Yeah, you thougt he was attractive but you also found his roommates attractive and you weren't going around kissing them. He had this whole problem with you before and NOW he was kissing you? You liked the change of heart but you didn't think it would change that much. Your breath was now uneven, it was more of a result from being shocked and nervous than being kissed. He was looking deeply into your eyes, too deeply. This didn't feel real it felt like a dream.
"What was that for?" you asked.
"I wanted to see." he asked.
He was still staring quietly before he said,
"Nothing, it doesn't matter."
He looked away then backed away from you. You found yourself hugging the drawing pad he let you see out of nervousness. The shock was still running through you, a certain feeling you hadn't felt since you were in a new relationship with Jae. Jongmin grabbed the coffee from the vending machine and started to walk away when you grabbed his arm to stop him. He looked back at you but you froze up.
Why did you reach out for him?
"What?" he asked.
You stared at him for a moment and sighed,
"I- I don't know."
He turned to look at you again, his face looked a little hard this time but it seemed to soften up for a moment.
"Look, I'm sorry for taking advantage of the moment. It was probably inappropriate."
"Joon Kyung said your a ladies man." you blurted out.
His eyebrow twictched slightly as if he was aggrivated by his roommate for disclosing information like that to you.
"He asks me all the time how you treat me, if you're behaving. I've never noticed anything...I guess I'm saying this because- well. Are you?"
You were nervous about the answer he would give you. He seemed to harden a bit again and walked up to you. Perhaps the question insinuated something that upset him.
"Am I what?" he said
"A ladies man...Look I don't know why you kissed me but I don't like it when people play games with me-"
"What makes you think I'm playing games?" he asked coming closer.
You were visibly nervous again but also flustered and he could tell. His eyes narrowed on you as you continued to speak to him.
"Because one moment you go from strongly disliking me and the next you kiss me. People's opinions of others change but not that fast."
"So what are you saying, you think I'm just using you to get what I want?" he asked.
He was backing you down again but this time you stood your ground. You didn't want to seem unconfident you wanted to come off clear and straight.
"I'm not implying you have any alterior motives other than to kill time entertaining me. I've been with men like that before and I don't care to be involved with another like that. I'm only asking you to be honest with me and don't do such random stuff to me if you haven't thought about how it might effect me too."
"So how did the kiss effect you?" he asked.
Oh there was a dangeous challenge in his voice. A certain seductive tone that threatened to pull you into a trap. You didn't want to fall for it; you wanted to stay away from him, if only for a moment. You didn't want to say anything wrong. You didn't know how to feel about the kiss becuase you still weren't sure about his motives. You looked at him upset and then turned to get the tea from the vending machine.
"Forget it." you said.
You didn't have much else to say. You didn't know what else you should say. You could hear him walk off and leave you alone. You looked down at your hands and saw the drawing pad he let you see. He had a lot of detail in the picture; it was mesmerizing. It made you think of your club walls. He'd be done soon and that was great. So it was looking like you'd be here opening night but you'd be leaving soon after.
You walked back to the waiting room to see that Mr. And Mrs. Lee were gone and Jongmin had stayed behind to wait for you. You walked up to him saying,
"What happened to your parents?"
He seemed standoffish now, perhaps you put a dent in the budding friendship you two could've had. Perhaps he was thinking of the kiss and considered it to be a mistake. You weren't sure it was but you weren't sure it wasn't either. He didn't look at you when he answered he stared down the hallway and said,
"They went to see Hwimin. I told them I'd wait for you."
"Well it's a family affair perhaps you should go see him first and then I'll come in later." you said.
"No, he's still asleep anyways. Besides I know the little brat, he's going to want to talk to you as soon as he wakes up."
"I'm sure he'll be looking for you first." you said gently.
There was a tenderness in your voice that made him finally look at you especially when you placed a hand on his arm softly. You didn't come to start drama the day of his brother's surgery. You didn't mean to butt into his life this way but you wanted to understand why he treated you with so much disdain. You had your answer now, you didn't have to stick around but you did because you adored Hwimin. Perhaps there was a more selfish reason behind that too. You were confused. Still, Jongmin took the opprotunity of your kindness and thanked you before walking down the hallway to visit his brother's room. You were sure the doctors would only allow a certain amount of people in the room at a time anyway.
"Why did I kiss her?" Jongmin spoke to himself.
Hadn't he been thinking she was attravtive for a while now? Even when he first met her but he was too annoyed with her elevated status to pay attention to how attractive she was. Now it seemed like she understood what it meant to be down low and having to fight to survive. He knew her story now and knew that he had missed judged her so he was less annoyed by her. Hwimin loved her too; he could see it from the way they were talking to each other. He only hoped that she didn't get his hopes up only to not deliver on her promise. Everything she's done up to this point should've proved that she was a girl of her word but the family had been tricked before.
He knew for sure he was irritated that Joon Kyung had captured her ear most of the time in the waiting room. He didn't know what he'd say to her if he had the chance to talk to her but it seemed to him, now he wouldn't know. He wondered if she liked Joon Kyung. He thought about their kiss more, she had been making him feel differently lately, like in the way she smiled or laughed. She didn't use her business tone with him as often anymore. He wondered if she was even aware that she had two distictive voices. He wondered if anyone else noticed it or if it was just him. Joon Khung and Jiho didn't seem to notice anything the first night they came to the beach house. There was no way he was the only one picking up on it though. He wondered if Joon Kyung tried to kiss her too. That annoyed him for some reason.
He thought more, maybe he kissed her because he wanted to test himself, see if these feelings were really what he thought they were. When it came down to pure facts though, he knew one thing, he wanted to know if Joon Kyung and Y/N were dating. He had thought that if she pushed him away it meant that the two of them were dating yet her focus wasn't on what Joon Kyung would think or that she couldn't kiss him because she was with Joon Kyung. She wanted to know Jongmin's motives. Was there hope of something more blooming from that kiss? Did he even want a relationship right now, let alone with her?
He wanted something from her, he just wasn't sure what.
Jongmin walked into his brother's hospital room and sure enough he was still asleep. The doctors said they had removed the tumors successfully and that they would be monitoring him during recovery. He felt a huge amount of relief now that the surgery was over. His mother and father looked over to him and they noticed that he was in deep thought.
"What's wrong Jongmin?" his mother asked.
He looked at her coming out of his trance and said,
He took a seat across from Hwimin's bed and looked at his sleeping brother, he wondered if his hair would grow back now. Was the cancer all gone? Would it come back like it had so many other times. What could the doctors do to help him survive or would he be stuck in this cycle for the rest of his life? The sudden fear made him look away from Hwimin. His mind went back to Y/N, now she was becoming a safer distraction, a way of comfort. He liked making her uncomfortable before but realizing she had OCD, a condition she couldn't control much herself, he decided it was better for him to stop purposely annoying her.
"What do you guys think about Y/N?" Jongmin asked.
Jongmin's father shrugged,
"She's a fine young lady."
"I think she's adorable, how did you two meet? Hwimin loves her." his mother said.
"We work together remember... actually I work for her." he said.
"It's good to know there are some good people out there." his father said.
That made Jongmin look up at his father surprised. He would think that his father would be the last person to say that about her. They were aware now of who she was but his father's comment was hopeful and sweet. Jongmin gave his parents a soft smile. He knew what he would do.
"Yeah well- I think she'll be sticking around for a while." Jongmin grinned.
"I hope so." his mother said.
The way she looked at him let him know that her hope was for something more...maybe he was hoping the same.
