코카콜라(Coca Cola)가 실험적인 도전을 계속 이어나간다. 이번에는 다크스피릿 시장에 문을 두드리며, 세계적인 바텐더들과 함께 개발한 시그니처 믹서를 선보인 것. 위스키와 럼을 활용해 만든 시그니처 믹서는 스모키, 스파이시, 허벌, 우디 총 4가지 맛으로 구성됐으며, 코카콜라 특유의 풍미와 톡쏘는 맛을 적절히 배합해 환상의 비율을 구현했다고. 특별함을 강조하기 위해 코카콜라의 초기 디자인인 허친슨(Hutchinson) 유리병 형태로 제작한 점 또한 눈길을 끈다. 코카콜라가 야심차게 선보인 4가지맛 시그니처 믹서의 정확한 출시 정보는 아직 확인되지 않았으며, 실제 출시로 이어질지는 조금 더 지켜봐야 할 것 같다.

I'll be the first to admit that I love Coca Cola. But it's absolutely horrible for us. A very detailed infographic supplied by TheRenegadePharmacist.com has officially proven again how bad Coke is for your body (WE KNOW). The American CDC has said that 25% of Americans drink soda on a regular basis which is a hefty reason why obesity has run rampant. Sugar is the main culprit since an average can of soda can contain 3 tablespoons of sugar and 4 tablespoons if in a 12-ounce-bottle. Coke is one of the most popular soft drinks in the United States with a massive marketing empire so there will never be a day where we won't see it somewhere. But there comes a time where you need to take a moment and see what you're putting into your body. Let's take a look : All it takes is ONE Coke : First 10 Minutes : 10 teaspoon of sugar hit your system. (100% of your recommended daily intake.) You don't immediately vomit from the overwhelming sweetness because phosphoric acid cuts the flavor allowing you to keep it down. In 20 Minutes : Your blood sugar spikes, causing an insulin burst. Your live responds to this by turning any sugar it can get its hands on into fat. (There's plenty of that at this particular moment.) In 40 Minutes : Caffeine absorption is complete. Your pupils dilate, your blood pressure rises, as a response your liver dumps more sugar into your bloodstream. The adenosine receptors in your brain are now blocked preventing drowsiness. In 45 Minutes : Your body ups your dopamine production stimulating the pleasure centers of your brain. This is physically the same way heroin works, by the way. In 60 Minutes : The phosphoric acid binds calcium, magnesium, and zinc in your lower intestine providing a further boost in metabolism. This is a compounded by high doses of sugar and artificial sweeteners also increasing the urinary excretion of calcium. After 60 Minutes : The caffeine's diuretic properties come into play. (It makes you have to pee.) It is now assured that you'll evacuate the bonded calcium, magnesium, and zinc that was headed to your bones as well as sodium, electrolyte and water. As the rave inside of you died down you'll start to have a sugar crash. You may become irritable and/or sluggish. You've also now, literally, pissed away all the water that was in theCoke. But not before infusing it with valuable nutrients your body could have used for things like having the ability to hydrate your system of build strong bones and teeth. Why you should care? - Coke weakens bones and teeth. - Increases your chance for getting diabetes. - It slows your metabolism, especially long term. - Aspartame in the soda leads to disease and organ irritation. - Coke has negative affects on fertility. - It leads to weight gain. - Can worsen asthma or increase risk for heart disease. - Cancer, Osteoporosis, and Kidney issues are common in people who drink soda. - It's expensive to continually buy it. - Diet sodas are a scam and false advertising. All soda is bad for you. - No nutritional value. - Raised cholesterol and specifically increased belly fat. Do I need to say more? Coke or soda for that matter is never a good idea. (But don't worry, I still love it.)
Chocolate Chip (Perfectly Safe!) Cookie Dough Truffles
About two weeks ago, @vegantraveler posted the most hilarious card in her Vegan Laughs that really got me thinking. It had a picture of a vegan baker licking cake batter off a mixing whisk and bragging about how vegans get to eat all the batter they want! (Check it out over here: http://www.vingle.net/posts/586948-Why-I-love-Vegan-Baking) And it's true! While admittedly, I haven't been vegan or vegetarian in years (gasp), I do still eat vegan and vegetarian foods regularly and appreciate the added safety in plant-based recipes. With no egg, no meat, and no dairy, there's less risk of foodborne illnesses and a much longer shelf life. (It's also perfect in a potluck situation when you know it's going to be left out for a long time!) With that being said, you can share and enjoy these cookie dough truffles (made with vegan cookie dough) without all of the concern that usually comes along with eating raw dough. One of my sister's favorite activities to do each holiday season is make a huge batch of vegan truffles for friends, and this is certainly our most favorite! --------------------------------------------------------------- Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Truffles 2 1/2 cups all purpose flour 1 teaspoon salt 1 cup (2 sticks) vegan butter or margarine, room temperature 3/4 cup granulated sugar 3/4 cup packed brown sugar 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 1/3 cup soy or almond milk 1 cup mini semi-sweet chocolate chips 14 ounces of meltable chocolate (Ghiradelli and Godiva both make vegan melting chocolate, but other natural food brands do too.) 1. Beat butter and sugars and in large bowl with electric mixer on medium speed until light and fluffy. Add cream and vanilla. Stir in flour and salt and mix on low speed (or by hand) until incorporated. Stir in chocolate chips. 2. Cover and chill dough for 1 hour. 3. When dough is firm enough to handle (it may help to lightly flour your hands), form dough into 1" balls and arrange on a baking sheet lined with waxed paper. Place sheets in freezer and let chill for 30 minutes. 4. Melt chocolate candy coating in a double boiler or in microwave according to package directions. Using forks or a dipping tool, dip cookie balls into candy coating to cover. Tap fork on side of pan to remove any excess coating, and return to waxed paper-lined baking sheets. Chill until set. Store, chilled, in an airtight container for up to 1 week.
Pikachu Buns
I was in a baking mood and decided to try to make these! They came out good for my first time 😁😁 I'll post my recipes below if you'd like to try and make them. If you'd like the recipe, message me 😘 My bun recipe: -200g milk (Lukewarm) -5g active dry yeast -30g sugar --240g bread flour -60g all purpose flour -30g butter (room temp) -Egg wash Step 1: put lukewarm milk, sugar and yeast in a bowl. Whisk and set aside for 5min Step 2: in a separate bowl, combine bread flour and all purpose flour. Then add milk mixture. Add a pinch of salt and knead dough Step 3: after dough can take ball form, knead in the room temp butter. Knead until butter is fully incorporated. After incorporated, put in a lightly greased bowl cover with plastic wrap and set aside in a warm place for 30-40 min. Step 4: after 30-40 mins, take dough out. It should have doubled in size. Put flour on your finger and poke the middle of the dough. If it first bounce back, declare the air from dough and cut in 8 equal pieces. Form in to balls and set aside on a baking sheet for 10-15 mins. Make sure to cover with a lightly dampened cloth. Step 5: cut two areas on the doughball across from each other in a diagonal direction. Egg was the parts you cut in to. Sprinkle with sugar cover them again with a lightly dampened cloth and let them rest for 30 mins - an hour. They will double in size again Step 6: bake in an oven preheated to 400° for 10-12 mins and you're done! Chocolate pudding filling: -2 egg yolks -2 1/2 tbsp sugar -1 tbsp all purpose flour -1 1/2 tbsp corn starch -1 tbsp coco powder -200ml milk (hot) -2 tbsp butter -30g chocolate. I used four squares of semi sweet chocolate Step 1: whisk egg yolks and sugar together. In separate bowl, combine flour, corn starch and coco powder. Add mixture to yolk mixture and whisk together. Step 2: slowly add hot milk to the chocolate yolk mixture. When fully combined. Put yolk mixture through a strainer into a pot. Out put on burner and set to medium heat. Continuously whisk until mixture thickens to pudding consistency. Step 3: take off heat immediately and add butter and chocolate. Continue mixing until chocolate and butter mix in. Step 4: place plastic wrap directly on pudding and put in fridge to cool. After it cools, mix it again and add to piping bag.
Caramel Stuffed Chocolate Chip Cookies
These look simply incredible. Two of my favorite things, chocolate chip cookies and caramel, combined into one heavenly cookie creation. I was looking for more caramel recipes (because that's what I do in my spare time, duh) when I found this recipe from Table for Two. I mean, can you even imagine anything more perfect?!? Look at that gooey, warm caramel. Those molten chocolate chunks. That perfectly chewy cookie. Imagine how good these are fresh out of the oven. Caramel Stuffed Chocolate Chip Cookies Prep Time: 10 min. Cook Time: 13 min. Difficulty: Easy Recipe adapted from Table for Two Ingredients 3 sticks (1½ cup) unsalted butter, softened 1½ cup dark brown sugar, packed ½ cup granulated sugar 2 eggs 4 tsp. vanilla extract 2 cups all-purpose flour 2 cups bread flour (you may use all-purpose flour instead if you don't have it on hand) 4 tsp. cornstarch 2 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. salt 1½ cups chocolate chunks ½ cup dark chocolate, finely chopped 18 caramel candies, cut in half to give you 36 Directions 1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Line baking sheets with parchment paper. In a large bowl, whisk together the flours, cornstarch, baking soda, and salt. In another mixing bowl, cream together butter and sugar until fluffy (about 2 mins). Add eggs and vanilla. Beat 2 more mins. 2. Gradually add flour mixture, beating until fully incorporated. Fold in chocolate chips with a spatula. To form the cookies, take a spoonful of dough, and use your thumb to make a small hole and press the caramel into the center. Re-roll the ball to cover the caramel candy. 3. Bake for 11-13 minutes. They may look quite soft at this point, but remember they will continue to cook after you remove them from the oven. Allow them to cool completely on baking sheet, or else they'll break and caramel will ooze everywhere. Enjoy, my fellow cookie monsters!! I guess these people never got the memo about lasagna being a dinner food – and oh man, am I glad they didn't. These innovative kitchen wizards have turned a saucy Italian cheesefest into a gourmet dessert. This is a food trend that I have NO doubt we'll be seeing soon on upscale dessert menus around the world. It's hip, it's totally different, and it's just the right amount of weird to tickle the imagination. See what you think – which one of these fantastical desserts would you most like to try?
