Instructions to Make Macaron Box
1. Cut and Fold the Box
To know how to cut the box, you can download any macaron template. You can assemble the box using the template, refer to this diagram. All the red lines in the template should be cut using scissors or a craft knife, whereas you need to fold on all the blue dotted lines. By having a template will make it easier for you to know how to cut the box correctly. If you already know it, then it is fine, but if not, you can download any template of any style. Like this one is a simple square macaron box.
Now, if you want to get a straight fold, you can align a ruler on each of the dotted lines and fold with the help of the ruler to get a nice sharp and straight fold. After folding, remove the ruler and score it alongside the edge to further press the fold down. It will give you a nice sharp and neat fold. Another way of getting a crisp edge on your folded box is by using a bone folder.
2. Apply Glue and Assemble the Box
After you are done the cutting and folding of the box, you need to apply craft glue to the four small tabs as described in the diagram. By using the craft glue, you are making sure that all the sides of the box are held together against each other. Make sure you are not placing any glue on the small tab at the top of the box because if you do so, you will glue your box shut before you even put your macarons in it. You can even use double-sided tape, but for maximum protection and to ensure your box will not open again, it is recommended to use good quality craft glue.
3. Finishing Up
Now that you have your box assembled and all glued down, you can put your macarons and other small treats inside it. The template you followed is designed to fit two macaroons or 2 to 3 little truffles. And to fold the box, you simply need to fold down the lid. If you want to, you can put a little amount of craft glue on the final tab on the top and then tie a ribbon around the box to further secure the lid down. You can use any type of decorative stuff to make the macaron box look attractive and appealing. Moreover, if you put a special note on the box, then whoever will receive macarons on this box, will feel loved and special. Therefore, do everything you can to make these boxes look pretty.
