Old is Gold: Top 4 Movies that are a Blast from the Past
If the past couple of months cooped up in our homes has taught us anything, it is that there is absolutely nothing better than a good movie takes us to a place that's far, far away from all the chaos that we're presently surrounded by. From retro classics to modern drama - there are movies that are outside your comfort zone and a few that will most certainly introduce you to diverse cultures and environments that you never knew a thing about. So, the popcorn has been popped, the sweatpants are on and the evening is your oyster! With this, your next challenge is to binge-watch some of the greatest Hollywood box office hits tonight. Romance, drama, comedy - no matter what you're looking for, here are the movies that you must watch right away! The Godfather (1972) The very first movie on the list is most definitely the Francis Ford Coppola classic The Godfather, starring Al Pacino and Marlon Brando in their most memorable roles in the history of Hollywood movies! Bagging three Academy Awards, including Best Picture and Best Adapted Screenplay, The Godfather is one of the most revered movies of all time and its remarkable contribution to cinema is absolutely extraordinary. This movie will not only impress you with its technical and narrative aspects, but also intrigue you by its astounding depiction of the mafia, immersing you in its world right from the beginning. Psycho (1960) Following the story of a deranged Norman Bates (Anthony Perkins), Psycho is one Alfred Hitchcock film based on the protagonist's psychopathic escapades. Defying the standard of almost all conventional serial killers films, Psycho is one movie that works both ways - crime investigative thriller as well as a philosophical movie exploring themes that are broader than what we see - sex, violence, compassion and the likes. With heads being cut off from the body and blood smeared across scenes, this movie is definitely not made for the faint-hearted! The Shawshank Redemption (1994) The Shawshank Redemption is based on the story by Stephen King and directed by Frank Darabont. It is the classic tale of Andy Dufresne's (Tim Robbins) breakout of the Shawshank prison. Watching through the eyes of Red (Freeman), the movie paves a path for viewers to easily traverse upon. A number of journeys clubbed within another journey - the movie brings about some unexpected twists and turns right from the beginning, up until the end. The brilliant writing, acting, and unexpectedly astounding direction have definitely made The Shawshank Redemption a trendsetter! The Pianist (2002) Starring Adrien Brody as a gifted Pianist and a Polish Jew trying to survive the holocaust, this movie has been criticized by many for its slow-moving parts. However, that is the brilliance of it. In fact, as per the latest Hollywood news, Adrien Brody still claims to be haunted by The Pianist, even after all these years! Starvation is definitely not an action-packed thriller. It is a slow and steady death march. In fact, this is precisely the image that Polanski painted in the movie The Pianist. It captures fragments of the truth that war stories often miss out on. While the takeover is gradual, every now and then, the weight of fear is lightened with tiny dregs of hope - this is the torture. This is war. An overwhelming noise followed by an equally deafening silence - Polanski pulls you in to listen as Wladyslaw Szpielman laboriously breathes in that quietness. So, lean in and hold your breath. Get ready to sit uncomfortably with him in all its empty spaces. Now that the night gathers, your watch begins. Get ready to witness some of the greatest Hollywood blockbuster movies that definitely demand a watch!

How To Learn A New Language At Home
I've been trying to improve my French recently, and came across these awesome YouTubers called DamonandJo. They have self-taught themselves nearly 6 languages! I believe they speak French, Spanish, Portugese, Italian, German, and of course English! You can either watch the video above (which I suggest cause they have the BEST sense of humor) or check out their tips below: 1. Follow Famous YouTubers in the language you want to learn! There are tons of youtubers in other languages, and often if they are famous enough, there will be english subtitles. Listen to them to hear real people speaking the language rather than a text book! They're usually super entertaining too so it helps :) 2. Follow those YouTubers or famous people on twitter so you see that language each day! The easiest way to get used to a foreign language is to see it all the time and this really helps! 3. Change your phone/facebook/etc language to your desired language! Since you probably already know where everything is in your phone or facebook, you wont be confused and you'll learn a ton of new vocab! 4. Listen to audio books in the language you want!!! Audible has a ton of foreign language books. Try starting with a book you already know well (like Harry Potter for me - I'm trying to read that in Korean right now...) and listen throughout your day! 5. Sign up for foreign magazines or newsletters! Or even better download their app in another language! For example, my boyfriend gets push notification from Le Monde which is a french newspaper :) Even if you only read the headline, its practice. 6. Try cooking a meal using a recipe in a different language! You start to learn that a lot of words you actually already know (for example, sauté means the same thing in french and in korean bokkeum (like bokkeumbap) means fried! so literally "fried rice!" 7. Watch TV shows in the language Duh!!!! 8. Talk to yourself and dont be afraid! Practice speaking whenever you can, even to people who are strangers! be brave! What languages are you trying to learn?!
