MLB Top Plays of the Day (09/23/15)
Here are your Top 5 Plays of the Day! 5. Alcides Escobar (Kansas City Royals) As soon as that was hit, we knew it was going to be a Texas hit. Well...except for Royals shortstop Alcides Escobar! It was a little bloop but Escobar chased it so well and times his elegant leap perfectly to catch the ball and get the out. The Royals beat the Mariners 4-3. 4. Lonnie Chisenhall (Cleveland Indians) The ball was lifted to short right. Second baseman, Jason Kipnis was out and he had a very good reason for it. Lonnie Chisenhall calls for the ball and gets it on a diving catch. I am pretty sure he had one eye on the ball and the other on his second baseman to make everything so perfect. The Indians however fall to the Twins 4-2. 3. Cameron Maybin (Atlanta Braves) We've seen a lot of elegant leaps today. But you have to give Maybin credit for his leap on the warning track, near the fence. The breaking ball was lined to center but he backed quickly and showed us that center field was his territory. Very nice play from the Braves centerfielder! The Braves beat the Mets 6-3. 2. Kyle Schwarber (Chicago Cubs) It went high in the air but Schwarber never took his eyes off the ball as soon as it made contact with the bat. He had a quick start and times his dive perfectly to catch the ball on the warning track. I seriously don't know how he caught it. He went all out for it as you can see him slide all the way to the fence. Despite Schwarber's fantastic play, the Cubs fell to the Brewers 4-1. 1. Yogi Berra Tribute Yes. Number one goes to Yogi Berra, as his life and career is celebrated around Major League Baseball. I would like to pay my respect to one of the greatest baseball players. He wasn't just a great baseball player though. He was a great man and he will truly be missed. RIP Yogi Berra (1925 - 2015) Now that was your Top 5 Plays of the Day from last night's games! Himachal Diaries – On An Adventure To Kheerganga Trek
We were on our winter trip to Himachal, which was incomplete without the famous Kheerganga trek. We stayed overnight in a hotel in Kalga Village. The night was freezing but, the morning was refreshing, motivating us to leave for the trek as early as possible.   As the morning went away, so did the sun. The weather changed drastically and, we had some doubts about the success of the trek. Our Kheerganga trek in December had its limitations regarding the snow and coldness of the weather. The frigid morning delayed our trekking for a few hours.  It is a moderately challenging trek and the snow added to its difficulty. We were doubtful about the camping on top due to heavy snowfall almost every day. On the way, we witnessed the beauty of the forest while climbing the hill, the chirping birds as we paced steadily on the rocky track. Planning the Kheerganga trek in December had its perks, mainly the snow-covered Kheerganga and the fun of the hot water spring in the cold.   Our motivation to cover that 14 km trek was a bath at the highest point in the little pool with natural hot water. The silent valley was soothing our soul and, the majestic views of the snow-covered peaks rejuvenated us.  As we left Kalga village behind and moved further, the mobile network went dead. As the network left, the raw beauty of the mountain and vast forest joined us. We crossed the loud yet silently comforting waterfall on a wooden bridge and enjoyed the view of many more ahead.  While moving further, we had to tread carefully, as there was an icy pathway ahead. The tricky paths made us slip and trip a couple of times. The climb got steeper as we reached close to our destination. When we saw the camping site in the middle of mountains and, snow layered on the ground with tents set up for tourists, we felt relieved.   The Kheerganga trek was a learning experience where we met more tourists like us from around the world. Completing that difficult and tiring climb was an accomplishment. When we got on top (13000 feet), that place mesmerized us. It was a beautiful valley surrounded by mountains covered with snow and vegetation.   sWe went to see the holy temple of Lord Shiva that has been at the top for more than a hundred years. After walking at such a height, we took a bath in Hot water spring and relaxed. All our day’s weariness disappeared with that natural jacuzzi bath. While bathing, we could see the sunny golden mountain tops and trees of the Parvati Valley.  The hike to the top had been full of daring adventures but, the view was worth it. Our travel to Kasol ended with all the memories that we carried with us.
NFL Pro Bowl rosters released!
The NFL has released the rosters for the 2016 Pro Bowl! Regardless of your feelings on the Pro Bowl (I personally never watch it and think it's just asking for players to get injured unnecessarily), it is always fun to see who has been selected. Just like last year, when the league abandoned the standard NFC vs. AFC format in favor of a draft, this year's teams will be drafted by Jerry Rice and Michael Irving before the game. That's a pretty cool concept, if you ask me! This leads to a huge number of players selected and it's pretty hard to make sense of the whole roster. I'll pick out some highlights: Quarterback It's no surprise that Cam Newton led all players in votes, alongside Tom Brady. Those two are almost sure to be the starting QBs for their teams. Carson Palmer could challenge Brady for the other starting QB, but I bet Tom takes it due to his reputation. Running Back The running backs are led by Adrian Peterson and Devonta Freeman, easily the two best RBs in the league this year. The other top players selected include rookie Todd Gurley and surprising comeback player Doug Martin, who was great a few years ago but has struggled until this year. It's nice to see him playing well again for Tampa Bay, and he deserves to be in the Pro Bowl. Wide Receiver No real surprises here, as all the normal cast of characters are present: Odell Beckham, Calvin Johnson, Antonio Brown and more. The biggest surprise is probably Brandon Marshall, who most figured was too old to have a good season with the Jets, but Marshall has dialed back the clock and looks like one of the league's best again. He definitely deserves the honor. Defensive End Of course JJ Watt makes the roster! And he's almost sure to be the first defensive player selected in the fantasy draft. Watt has only improved his reputation as the league's best defensive player this season playing for Houston. He's joined in the Pro Bowl by Ziggy Ansah, Mohammad Wilkerson, and others. Linebacker One of the most important players on one of the league's most feared defenses is Bobby Wagner, who thoroughly deserves his Pro Bowl selection. He'll be one of the top linebackers selected for sure, though others fighting for that honor will be Jamie Collins of the Patriots and NaVorro Bowman of the 49ers, who is having a great season on a terrible team. Cornerback Chiefs rookie CB Marcus Peters has been a total stud this season and will join RB Gurley as one of the rookies in the game. He is deserving of his place and will be a superstar for years and years to come. Other notable corners selected include Patrick Peterson, Josh Norman, Darrelle Revis and, of course, Richard Sherman. Are you looking forward to the Pro Bowl? Does the game catch your attention at all with the new format of the fantasy draft? Why are UK Visit Visa Refusals so common?
Getting Down from a UK Visit Visa turndown has always been clumsy due to the Entry Clearance Officer refusing nearly a maturity of the Visit Visa aspirants for the most trivial reasons. Last time about visit visas were refused.  The UK Government has set a thorough set of guidelines to grease the entry of aspirants who wish to visit the UK in a short term base under visit visa similar as  Sufficient substantiation that the aspirant will return back to his home country  Sufficient bank balance so that he can grease his return back to his home country  Any other substantiation that the Home Office might feel to question about. The compass of substantiation is relatively nebulous when it comes to applying for a UK Visit visa. The aspirant under the guise of being ill-informed with respects to the proper substantiation that has to be handed in front of the Home Office is most likely to be refused as the Home Office themselves are formerly burdened with the tiresome quantum of operation.  Lack of chronologically placed attestation, as well as proper documents to be submitted, may be another reason as to why any aspirants would be refused to enter the UK.  Occasionally the aspirant not being apprehensive of the colorful visa options may mileage for a visa option which might not fall under the horizon of his conditions. For illustration, people applying for League-1 operation rather of Standard Visit Visa for business conditioning may be rejected outspoken if he falls short of the demand under the League-1 visa, as it's more strict than the Visit Visa.   Another reason of rejection is non-disclosure of any former issues similar as turndown from another country or concealment of any felonious record which would affect the interest of the Home Office. However, he might indeed attract a ban from the UK for certain period of times, If similar deceiving or non-disclosed statements come to the spotlight of the Home Office.  There are so many other reasons which the applicant may not be successfully able to enter through Visit Visa mostly due to being misguided by people who do not have any expertise or are not trained lawyers who specialise in immigration. The SmartMove2UK (a unit of SmartMove Immigration) being one such endeavour to assist in the process of smooth application to the UK without any hindrance and have assisted in transforming so many lives with their diligent team of solicitors, attorneys and paralegals, virtually guaranteeing you do not face a UK visa refusal; our firm boasts a record of never having been refused an application on technical grounds. MLB Top Plays of the Day (09/11/15)
Here are your Top 5 Plays of the Day! 5. Rougned Odor (Texas Rangers) What a catch by Odor! Of course, the shift definitely helped, but that's what stats are for, right? Even Shin Soo Choo thought Odor wasn't going to make that catch. Look at him backing up Odor and getting ready to jump for the bounce. The Rangers are on fire and looking to clinch the division title from the Astros. And they also beat the A's 4-0. 4. Kyle Schwarber (Chicago Cubs) A Top Play-worthy play from another hot team, the Chicago Cubs! No fence is going to stop Schwarber from making an amazing play. What a nice over-the-shoulder running catch from the Cubs left-fielder to rob a potential double from Ryan Howard. The Cubs beat the Phillies 7-3. 3. Daniel Castro (Atlanta Braves) Diving play and a perfect throw on his knees by Daniel Castro! The Braves rookie, who's been spectacular so far, robbed a hit from Tejada. Castro also showed some skills at the plate collecting two hits. His team however lost to the Mets 5-1. 2. Michael Bourn (Atlanta Braves) Another great play from the Atlanta Braves and possibly one of the best catches of the year as well. Conforto hits one deep center but Michael Bourn makes the catch! I personally thought that was going over the fence, but the Braves' center fielder certainly didn't think so. Not to piss off any Braves fans, but again, the Braves lost this one 5-1. 1. Angel Pagan (San Francisco Giants) It doesn't look like the Giants are going to make the playoffs this year but Pagan is still on his a-game. Kemp certainly thought he hit his 22nd home run of the season, but no! Pagan robs Kemp's homer and leads the Giants to a 9-1 victory over the Padres. Now that was your Top 5 Plays of the Day from last night's games! NFL Week 12 Pick 'Em
With Week 12 upon us, it's time for teams to really start making their push toward the playoffs. Let's take a look at some of the biggest games around the league. Steelers vs. Seahawks Seattle will look to ride rookie RB Thomas Rawls as they hope to solidify their playoff chances. They're currently behind the Cardinals for the NFC West division lead but are in prime position to take one of the two Wild Card spots in the NFC, with the rest of the conference pretty weak overall. The Steelers are in a similar position, as they are leading the AFC Wild Card charge but trail the Bengals for the lead in the AFC North. Prediction: The Seahawks take this one at home. They're too tough to beat in Seattle. 20-16, Seahawks. Patriots vs. Broncos It'll be another start for QB Brock Osweiler in place of the injured (and ineffective) Peyton Manning in what is always one of the most exciting games of the year between the Pats and the Broncos. The Patriots are looking to improve on their 10-0 record and join the Panthers as the other undefeated team this late in the season. Prediction: Even though the game is in Denver, the Patriots are too good. The Broncos will put up a good fight thanks to their dominant defense, but it won't be enough. Patriots 17, Broncos 10. Vikings vs. Falcons This is the game of the week for me, with the Vikings looking to take advantage of division rival's loss, as the Packers fell to the Bears on Thanksgiving. With a win, Minnesota will take a lead in the NFC North. The Falcons started hot but have lost a few games in a row. They'll be hoping to get back on track to remain in control of a Wild Card spot. The division is out of the question with the undefeated Panthers set to take the cake, but Atlanta are still looking good, provided they can put together a few more wins. Prediction: This will be a really tight game and it's tough to call, but I'm giving it to the home team in a shootout. Atlanta 31, Minnesota 27. Enjoy the games, everyone!
